NO hes not Biggs. getting a closer look at his Jacket its THE SAME as Dark Forces when Kyle was a Mercenary. but instead Kyle has a Beard for the first movie instead of the first game where he was clean shaved. but i KNOW its Kyle. i hope they spill the Beans in this movie and Jyn tells him its acually Jan Ors undercover for her name. cause if they changed her name. i hope they dont change Kyles. Kyle Katarn is such a badass Legendary name

Nice theory, Rogue One could be a pre-prequel to Jedi Knight. In this era, Jan Orsa is obviously the senior partner out of her and Kyle Katarn. Kyle is just a commando at this point, and has absolutely no idea that he is Force Sensitive with the potential to become a Jedi.

My immediate thought of the trailer was back to Star Wars: Dark Forces. The story of Operation Skyhook and the Dark Troopers. I'm glad I feel a lot less crazy now lol.

Second, while I am very happy to see you on the front lines duking it out with Dr. Disneystein, I believe that George Lucas has given his baby to the wrong people; the very people whose barrel of ideas is bone dry! in the old dark forces game the early versions of dark troopers kinda looked like the terminator and there is a bit in the trailer where u see a terminator looking thing sneaking up on her over her shoulder

The grand admiral dress uniform is white top and bottom with gold trim. The character in the trailer is wearing a white tunic with black trousers. White tunic with black trousers is the uniform of the internal security bureau. Which would make sense since this is a spy movie.

Great video.. the "Death troopers" for sure line up with the dark troopers..and it explains why we don't see them in the rest of the movies, they shut down the project. Absloutely excellent video, I hope Kyle/Jan are the inspiration for this. BTW, the name for the main character is "Jyn Erso."

As if you couldn't hype this more for me...if you evoke the Jedi Knight/Dark Forces series the cloak person might be Inquisitor Jerec before Jedi Knight. Plus...Rebels have/had Inquisitors running around. Jerec might be among one of them, if not...the only few left by the Empire at the time of Rogue One. If that was the case then and it happens on screen then we'll have to wait for a Jedi Knight movie of these three.

I really doubted this when reading the title of the video. But after your analysis I think you might be up to something. Now I think the "Admiral" has dark hair in that one shot because of the lighting. But if he really is Thrawn they might have omitted the make up or CG skin color in the first shot so it won't be that obvious to the audience who he is. If he in fact turns out to be Thrawn I think they might also have turned him from Chiss into human just because it is way easier than elaborate make up or CGI effects.

I was thinking this as well, the directors, the plot, Jan ors, Kyleish character with similar clothing in the walker charge, dark troopers (or whatever) Basically we could have a reworking of the story. With Kyle being the rebel brining in Ors instead.

Hooded figure isn't the emperor because he doesn't bow to anyone. I'm thinking it is Starkiller Bowing to Vader in the bacta tank. The guards are there because the emperor sent them to guard vader. They didn't know Starkiller would be coming. Vader got pissed after the plans were stolen and would send an apprentice to retrieve them. Maybe he sacrifices himself in the end to save the rebels from Vader.

Nope, it's actually Dark Forces, because recall that your FIRST mission as Kyle Katarn was to steal the plans to the Death Star. And what do we see here? The rebellion has no idea what the Death Star actually IS yet. Boom, placement.

I'm with you on the storyline and everything and KOTOR and Jedi Knight were the best games until Fallout 4, but still pretty good

I'd like to see some ideas pulled from Shadows of the Empire in episode 9's timeline instead of the original trilogy.

This theory has some serious merit to it, but I don't see a KOTOR movie happening, because the game has the main characters traveling to more than two or three locations, more like eight different locations, and even the main characters of the Star Wars films don't travel to so many locations in a single movie, so making a KOTOR movie would cheapen the story of KOTOR in general, and the hunt for the Star Maps. Sometimes it is best if a story is only told in novel or video game form, because they provide much more detail in a story's plot than a movie which is limited to a two hour run time.

Awesome theory. The shot of the wookipedia page on Danuta holds an interesting tid bit. It says a dull, barren BROWN planet. Perhaps that's why the new sand troopers come into play in this movie. Special unit assigned to just that one base? Kind of like special forces. Because when they are in the old city (which is also referenced in the Danuta description I believe) those troopers are white not tan.

I do not think they changed her name to Orso because she is using an alias (it would be a stupid alias for Ors). I think they changed the name because they have several people involved in the project from UK nations and in some accents in the UK "arse" or "ass" is pronounced "orse" and I think someone brought up the fact that we do not want a character that sound like "Jan Ass" to see of the audience.

The dark-hooded figure, what if that is actually a secret apprentice of Vader's, perhaps Starkiller? There are rumours of a Obi Wan film in the works, perhaps between episode III and IV, could be a way of introducing a variation of Starkiller as a nemesis for these inter-trilogy films.

Okay so here my jab at the hooded figure's identity. The two biggest parts of this are the the two Royal Guards in the background. They answer only to the Emperor himself.. not even Darth The could command them without prior notice from the Emperor. So... I believe that the hooded figure is... Emperor Palpatine himself going to visit (hard-core speculation) the future Supreme Leader of the First Order, Snoke. In the realise of TFA we got to see the behind the scenes of a lot of things and that included an unrobed Snoke who was severely jacked up so those injuries would very well call for Bacta treatment. How he is injured is beyond me but it's possible that Palpatine found a mentor, not a new master mind you but someone he could continue to learn from or experiment on. We can't forget that Palpatine was well versed in Sith Sorcery. So the hooded figure is Palpatine, Snoke is the Bacta tank and the royal guards are there as commissioned by the Emperor, Jen Arso is so Jan Ors! Kyle Katarn is unnamed dude in the trailer (hell yes) and after the fall of the Empire Snoke busts out, takes all the knowledge he learned there and created the first order thus tieing the sagas together. Thoughts?

I agree the Jedi Knight series is a great story, but sadly its not happening. Kyle is not in the movie. But still I hope I'm wrong... and I hope you're right.

Well, for one, you keep saying Jedi Knight when you should be saying Dark Forces. If this is a reworking of Dark Forces, you're gonna see the role reversal going on with "Kyle" taking the supporting role in this. I say this mainly because there's no chance in hell that Disney would ever hire an Oscar winning actress only to have her play second fiddle to that guy. I also doubt that)we will see any Jedi in this movie, and I hope it stays this way just because it will be ballsy and different, and we need that variety.

I think its a pretty good prediction and god knows i root for a Jedi Knight adaptation... What concerns me about this theory tho is that it is supposed to be a stand-alone film, with - i guess- a final story-conclusion. Can this Katarn become the Katarn we know in ONE action-super-packed movie (rogue jedi story line etc)? Obviously it's not a movie about jedis and lightsabers, so i don't feel we'll see him take that path in this movie... He his obviously Ors 's sideckick here... Maybe they'll introduce his character, to later develop him in an other stand-alone movie. Also the whole Jedi Master / friendship with Luke / New Jedi Order stuff is going to be thrown out since the new post-ROTJ canon is much different than the EU. I would love to see Kyle Katarn introduced as Resistance veteran / failed Jedi in the new trilogy, but that would be like 35 years or more after Rogue One.. He would be even older than Luke. I know they are going to retcon everything so all that EU stuff is now irrelevent, but those were my concerns over an adaptation of Jedi Knight / Jedi Outcast materials... Thoughts?

I think it will be more like a loose adaptation of Jan Ors and Kyle Katarn (hence Jyn Erso). They CAN'T adapt it 1:1 because Katarn is a bloody Duken Nuken of Star Wars! You can't take something like this and adapt it 1:1 - that would just end up like the Doom movie.
