30,000 seems like a real nuts-to-butts arrangement inside and not the typical passenger load, kinda like how converted passenger liners used as troop transports IRL will cram people into every conceivable space. RMS Queen Mary typically held about 2000 passengers and 1000 crew, but during WW2 they filled her with over 15,000 troops.
@Waldo Gonzalez An Oasis class cruise ship can have 8900 guests and crew in normal configuration and this ship would have 5 times the interior volume. The Length is nothing special but the width (beam for ships) is 3 times the largest ocean going ships military or civilian and that vastly increases interior volume when combined with it being a little longer and taller than the biggest real world ships.
The thing is that we don't know what the life support systems on the ship can handle, so there's probably going to be a hard cap on how many people can be transported, especially when a troop transport built specifically to take as many soldiers to the battlefield as possible can only take half.
@@MetaNerdzLore if you want another comparison the biggest sea liners today would be able to easily cram 200k people in them if converted to that while normally they only hold 8880 people in total just by how much space is wasted on luxury like swimming pools as d shopping centres
I wonder if that shipyard is a Mandalorian company, because the face of that cargo ship looks like a Mando visor. Mandalorian companies must have gone looking for lucrative civilian contracts while their society was going through its pacifist phase, the same way that the big brewing companies made soda during prohibition.
Not to mention the assault ship they produced is also very indicative of mandalorian shipbuilding. Two large cylindrical engines attached to a bulkier, no-frills body via pylons? Thats peak mandalorian design right there.
As far as I know, Botajef shipyards isnt Mandalorian affiliated nor a Mandalorian planet but that's honestly a cool idea. To have features of their culture in their ship designs. Edit* There was a battle on the planet with Mandalorians but it seemed more like they arrived on the planet from elsewhere to fight native Imperials.
I've never heard of this RU-vid channel before, but I'm definitely subscribing, because I've never seen a channel make videos on non combat ships in the star wars universe before, so this was a breath of fresh air for the star wars community on RU-vid!
i made one in space engineers to scale covered in point defence cannons and used it in a world friends and i set up we had a full 60 player server and were spilt 30 each my team used my armed version to board the other teams carrier we ended up blocking their hanger due to us getting stuck in both the floor and roof of it in the end our engines were enough to stop their ship we then forced it to crash in to a planet by blowing the carriers reactors and being inside the gav well we caused the ship to crash into it
In military use I would upgrade the hyperdrive give some light weapons and shielding and make it a 2 deck allowing for landing and docking anywhere much easier and increasing the atmosphere speed.
It's huge hull should be really good for mounting flak, this has great potential with the rebel alliance. Could also work as a carrier. This ship is one of those. The ones with huge modification potentials.
As someone who has often gone on cruise ships who are significantly bigger the this the only way you will fit 30000 peope inside is if you’d tuff them right on top of each other . There won’t be place for anything . Not good, not proper beds , not bathrooms . It’s ridiculous. At most you will be able to fit 5000 peope and it won’t be comfortable at all
Probably comparable as there was a Technological Dark age around 2000 BBY which set the Galaxy back thousands of years. By 1000 BBY technology had been restored to KOTOR levels and stagnated until 22 BBY when the Clone Wars forces Technological progression.
How durable - are we talking also about structural strenght or just "how heavily armoured is that"? If the latter, then it depends on period - while is no clear data about armour scheme and values, I think that ships (especially combat ones) just before invention of deflector shields would be the most armoured ships in SW universe. If we talk also about structural integrity, then it more depends on design itself than when it was designed - moreover, ship itself does not need to be armoured to be realy tough in terms of structural integrity (but it definitely helps). From all SW ships that I know Carrack-class light cruiser has both best armour and structural integrity for its weight class
@@Jfk2Mr Form what I know a Expanded Universe text in a guide about Star Wars ships in detail saids that clone wars Turbolasers are around 200 gigatons per shot is that considered canon in the Expanded Universe by the EU writiers or not? If it us considered canon then the material Star Wars ships are made up of must be pretty dang strong probably rivaling that of the ships of the Forerunners in Halo.
Swap out the class 4 hyperdrive with a class 1, and then add a bunch of weapons like turbolasers or, modify it to drop vehicles... Most likely a better way for planetary invasions when under heavy fire like when the Republic was liberating Ryloth an Acclimator-class assault ship got shot down along with everything on board. If this AA-9 Coruscant Freighter was deployed in a swarm, it wouldn't matter too much if one or two were shot down compared to an entire assault ship.
I know it sounds weird ,but if i was in a sci fi game. This would be the ship i would end up flying to make big credits. Its what i do in Elite Dangerous.
Regarding the Vallorum being alive thing, I read a while back that Lucas himself never really considered the EU to be fully canon. He acknowledged its existence, and obviously, from a legal perspective it was part of the franchise, but he said that if it ever got in the way of a story he wanted to tell, he would completely ignore it and retcon it out of existence.
In times of wars, sometimes that important ships are often both passengers or cargo ships that are handed over to the military, and no doubt that the Republic would’ve used these ships for their new Clone Army.
I would like to point out something, in the 2003 clone wars cartoon a ship similiar to the AA-9 was used to transport troops to track Anakin when he chased Asajj ventress to Yavin 4. Does anyone have any information about this unidentified ship?
Oh and if you think class four was slow you should spend a few decades in a Star Cab. In fact, how about doing a cast on the Star Cab and Mara Jade's in particular since the original was so slow curious how she made it so much faster.... (Emperor's Hand ship)
Its a SPHA, the Self-propelled Heavy Artillery, its the massive laser cannons from Episode 2 during the battle of Geonisois that took down the core ships.
Taylor Burleson yeah I know what your talking about the old one like 2003, all I remember about it is that they dropped of a bunch of clones and asaja ventress killed all of them
Has anyone heard of the Christmas story Darth plagueis the wise ? Lol You know the flat slanted surface would be perfect!!!!! For turbo laser turrets and would offer EXCELLENT all round anti fighter defence also for emergency Evacuation when the empire showed up ..... I’m surprised the rebels didn’t retrofit these It raises a question....... why where they refugees!!? What happened ?
just found a 3d model of this ship, my most favorite ship ever, somebody made a second life home out of one, imma make a steamVR home out of it, problem is i need blue prints of its inner workings, but thanks to the video and the halo, i think i have a pretty good idea of how it works inside, if anybody has a link to its blue prints, much appreciation would be given if linked in reply please. and maybe, steamVR may just get the AA-9 Courscant Freighter as a VR home.
Pepsi Doggo To put it simply, Drugs (or Spice as it's called in the Star Wars universe). They shrink the lifespan of the user hence the name. So yeah, don't do drugs.
I originally thought this was slang for cigarettes, but no. The stick itself is a single use vaporizer inhaler iirc, loaded with a pretty harsh narcotic of some kind. Learned this from the old RPGs
Heh, imagine one of these being in the hands of a pirate group. Think of all the booty they could store on-board. A massive crew. And with some modifications, could have a decent amount of weapons. And some nice fighters for attack and defense.
I have a question. How do you keep the front part of ships like this from not snapping off. If you have ever had a stick and attached a rock to the end, there is a somewhat chance the stick would break due to the front heavy weight. I dont know if they explained this is the lore or where like "science" and called it good or not.
oh my God Disney messed up again they showed or Dave filoni I'm not sure the show Chancellor valorum alive when they were looking for clues about the Clone Army and Darth tyranus so how does that fit in I didn't know he died in the comics
K here's the deal tho---love you guys and ur channel BUT Rise of Snotwalker has me totally not caring about Star Wars anymore....when's your episode on the Enterprise?
