Star Wars: THE ACOLYTE Episodes 1 & 2 PREMIERE Reaction & Discussion! 

It is a vow and they mentioned it when Master Sol arrived. The Barash Vow was an oath taken by Jedi who completely refrained from all activities related to the Jedi Order as a form of penitence, disengaging from anything but the Force itself and committing themselves to gaining ultimate communion with it. Jedi Master Barash Silvain orignated the practice, and the vow was named after her. Although most Jedi who swore the vow did so as a method of atonement, some did it in order to re-focus themselves on the Force.

I liked this more than I expected. Twin aspect is intriguing, who is Mae's master is intriguing and the controversy of the 4 Jedi Masters is intriguing. Safe to say, I'm intrigued to see the rest. Also, Team Sol from day 1, love the actor, such an aura. PS. To see Yoda in this, we must.

Master Tobin's Force "Bubble" is a lot like the Force Bubble Grogu used when he contacted Master Luke.

I went into this with no expectations and only watched the teaser. I really like this so far! It feels a lot like the jedi games, same vibe. Cute droid, using a lightsaber as a light source. The twin angle is pretty interesting. Im excited for the next episode!

I pretty much had no expectations going into this since I'm not really interested in the High Republic era, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying it so far. Ever since reading _Survivor's Quest_ (which is pretty much a Star Wars mystery novel) I've been curious about what a SW murder mystery/crime drama show would look like, and now I have my answer. I went through a whole detective phase as a kid around the same time that I got into Star Wars, so this feels like something I would've absolutely eaten up when I was younger. Jedi detectives? Little me would've been so obsessed with that concept 😂 Also I just _knew_ Dafne Keen was going to be a highlight, I love Jecki so much already lol

Loving this so far, the endings are very abrupt, but that is really my only big criticism so far. As someone who has been keeping up with the High Republic, seeing those robes and starfighters on screen is awesome, as well as the better attitude the Jedi of this era have, although you can see the direction theh are going in. A few refrences to the books and comics, Master Vernestra is character that debuted there, but this is a long time after we last saw her. The Barash vow that Master Torbin was undertaking first was refrenced in Charles Seouls Vader comic before being elaborated on in the High Republic. Basically just attuning themselves to the force for years at a time.

I kind of wanted Yord to say to Jecki after she tosses his plan to the side “well damn, Jecki!” a la Micheal Kelso style😂

I enjoyed these first episodes, when the second ended is felt like “nooo I want it to keep going😩”

OK, I was incredibly impressed seeing Mae's knuckles flatten and foot bend against the wall of force around Torbin. That's some serious attention to detail from the FX team. Torbin's vow is established canon. It's called the Barash Vow and it was introduced back in 2017 in the Darth Vader comic. Also, I have an interesting theory...Mae is following a rite of rank within whatever organization she is part of. Among the Plains peoples, there was a similar 4-part rite to become a War Chief: 1 - Touch an enemy without killing him 2 - Take an enemy's weapon 3 - Lead a successful war party 4 - Steal an enemy's horse America's last War Chief, Joe Medicine Crow of the Crow Tribe, obtained that title in World War II. While on a patrol in the European theater, he rounded a building and came face-to-face with a German soldier and took his rifle from him in a close-quarters fight, completing steps 1 and 2. Later, he led his squad on a raid on an SS encampment, and he and his men stole 50 of the Germans' horses, completing steps 3 and 4. Mae has lunged for the lightsabers in two of the fights she's been in, so disarming a Jedi is likely one of her steps. It sounds like another is to kill a Jedi without using a weapon, and the poisoning of Torbin may have been a step as well, perhaps to kill a Jedi without touching them.

Covering this up

This ain't too shabby at all IMO. Decent characters, good visuals, and a murder mystery. I'm not convinced yet that Osha actually has the force. Like maybe the jedi accidentally took the wrong twin during the "incident" or were supposed to take them both. Maybe Osha even pretended to be Mae so they'd take her. Then again, maybe not. We shall see.💖

I like reading the comics and this is not what I expected at all. I’m glad it wasn’t a panel to panel adaptation

Will we see the Intergalactic Banking Clan?…we’ve already seen the Trade Federation.

The books are great! Especially the adult novels! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I actually could see the jedi council cause of two things Yoda has done it before in the High Republic books for something worse than the sith and second this is supposed to be the transitional period from the High Republic era into the prequels loved these two episodes

Torbin’s force shield was a lot like Master Cere’s one from the Jedi games. Her’s is more visible but we’ve seen Jedi in canon do this. Yord is more of a dude bro.
