@@ImWhyMortalsCry Neither did I. All I heard from Mark Hamill as the Joker was this: Jingle bells, Batman smells Robin laid an egg. The Batmobile lost a wheel And Joker got away!
"The Sith killed each other, victims of their own greed. But I was busy picking up some power converters at Tosche Station, and thus I was the last survivor."
Mark Hamill's voice has changed much over the past forty years, and when I first heard Darth Bane's voice, it was barely recognizable compared to Luke in the original trilogy. I only knew they were the same when Bane laughed, which is similar to Hamill's laughter.
@Darth ScoutBonnie but still three beacouse he played boolio i rise of skywalker. The Bull guy. You know Kylo ren cutted off his head at the begining of the movie.
Fun fact: turns out that when Mark Hamill took on the role of Darth Bane, he did not know the history of the character, nor how he fit into the Star Wars mythos, but his son, Nathan Hamill, knew the history of Bane and was able to explain it to his father. (P.S.: I could listen to Mr. Hamill as Darth Bane all day!) EDIT: Thnx for all the likes! ^_^
Something ironic abt someone explain the history of a sith on depth to thier father who played a jedi, whos father was a sith, it all comes full circle
Malak in KotOR: And in the end, as the darkness takes me, I am nothing. Revan in SWTOR: And in the end, as the darkness takes me, I am nothing. Now I know how you felt, my friend. Vitiate in Echoes of Oblivion: No... no! Valkorion: The Force is mine! I command it! Tenebrae: I... am... endless! Revan: No. And in the end, as the darkness takes you, you are nothing.
@@louisduarte8763 In my book, the spirits of Sion, Nihilus, and Traya appear behind Revan, Malak, and the Hero of Tython after Meetra says: "Everyone you murdered."
Killeric Longstar why is the white mark hamill playing darth bane when he's all decked up in japanese armour. White people culture vulture's at it again all you white fans are weebs.
This entire scene in a Nutshell: Ban: You know who I am, right? Yoda: Yes, now can you- Bane: only survivor of a Sith massacre? Yoda: good for you, now- Bane: created the rule of two? A legacy that's still going? You're fighting against it even now- Yoda: You're not even real, can you just get out of my way already!
"I am Darth Bane." "Cad Bane? A secret Sith Lord, that bounty hunter is?" "What - no. No, I'm a different Bane. It's a very common bad guy name -" "Work on me, your bounty hunter tricks will not." "Did you never see The Dark Knight Rises?" "An enemy of Batman, you are? Then an enemy of mine, you shall also be." "... Just... enter the tomb already... I'm going back to sleep."
It depends on what recognition and legacy you have. Remember even tho vader(especially vader, was at near death multiple times), yoda, and obi-wan are legendary names, they had to still meditate to embrace the force at periods of time and keep their force in check on a periodic basis.
For those wondering, this dude basically invented the Sith structure as it exists now. Before his Rule of Two, Sith were constantly just killing each other. He began plotting a revenge against Jedi for their part in the fall of the Sith, the 1000 Year Plot, that basically culminated in Palpatine.
Sith force ghosts simply couldn't exist, the best the Sith could do is bind their spirits to objects. And in this case here, Darth Bane is bound to his own Tomb.
Actually, Yoda was correct. This isn't even a ghost, just an illusion. The episode establishes that the Sith are incapable of becoming Force spirits, and on top of that the Sith do not even believe in an afterlife. The Sith ghosts from this episode - including Bane - are literally more of the same illusions conjured by the Force Priestesses - like Jedi Dooku, and Dark Yoda; illusions conjured as part of Yoda's tests. Yoda in this scene is literally passing another test, seeing through these fake Sith ghosts and recognising that they aren't even real.
@@lilacocto9103 I get it what you’re saying, and you’re 100% right in your observance of Star Wars lore. But, from a certain point of view how is Bane any different from a Force Ghost? He’s interacting with Yoda and is perceiving him and being perceived by him.
Darth Bane was actually quite the reasonable fellow, also Mark Hamill was nominated for an award because of this 2 minute scene, Hamill himself was very surprised, and glad he didn't win because he felt he didn't deserve it.
Just goes to show you these rewards are meaningless since they award them out of popularity rather than merit just to please the public. Mark Hamill is a great voice actor but this was a generic bad guy tone with virtually no emotion required besides sounding 'menacing'. He deserves a lot of rewards for his other works but definitely doesn't even deserve a nomination here...
So if Darth Bane is cannon, then Darth Revan is Canon too, no? Doesn't this essentially make the entire old republic series canon now? Unless they retcon where Bane got his teachings from.
"I chose to pass my knowledge unto only one..." If that just dosen't scream Darth Revan, then I just don't know what does. I don't care about the Old Republic game. Fuck that. KOTOR is an okay game, but it doesn't really need to be forced in. As long as they have Darth Revan and Darth Bane as official characters, then it's all fine by me.
No, that is a misconception. Things are not considered official canon by association. While I have a feeling Revan and others stuff from the Old Republic era will make their way into canon eventually, that's not the case right now. Bane was a character created by Lucas himself for his back story of the Sith. Him getting the idea of the Rule of Two from Revan in the books is what is called a retcon, meaning its made up after the fact.
@@oblivion9202 I mean in Legends he was the literal Sithari. His was essentially seen as a diety amongst the sith and his rise to power was foretold thousands of years before his birth. He was basically their chosen one.
Sith Ghosts are trapped and bound to a single place, namely their bodies or tombs - it's all they can do to not be completely absorbed by the madness of the Dark Side - Bane is stuck on his tomb on Morabrand/Korriban.
@@J.G.H. Bane was destroyed on Ambria and did never receive a tomb. Bane visited Korriban for studies prior to his rise to power but found nothing interesting was left.
+Kosmos well Knights of the Old Republic is technically canon considering the fact thatit takes place before the prequels and anything that happens before the prequels doesn't really effect the main storyline...
You know what's strange? The little markings on Bane's tomb and around this temple are the same ones on the Jedi temple on Lothal. The jedi and the sith really are alike in nearly every way, and I guess that even extends to architecture.
I agree that's what he did lol Sith Spirits hang around by sheer willpower, the tenacity to not go and join the force, but linger with their memories. But Yoda knows they're just pitiful shadows of the people they once were...and if a shadow realizes he's just an absence of light, he has no power.
For those unaware, Darth Bane was the founder of the "Rule Of Two", that there can only be two Sith, master and apprentice, at any time, and apprentice ascends by defeating their master. This is because, as he put it here, the greed of the old Sith Order caused it to destroy itself. Ironically, by the time of the Clone Wars, the Rule Of Two was being repeatedly violated by Sidious and we get glimpses of the infighting and politics that led to the downfall of the Sith the first time.
Before that as well. Plagus was still alive during TPM. Maul was Palpatine's apprentice playing the role of assassin. That's probably why Dooku's attachment to Ventress concerned him. He could tell Dooku was using her the same way he used Maul
@@unforgiving6363 Well, we know that force ghosts are a thing, we just don't know if Sith force ghosts are currently canon. Technically speaking, any ability that a Jedi can use, a Sith could potentially use, and vice versa, but it's difficult to say for sure.

Why did they choose to make a Han Solo movie instead of an Old Republic/Darth Bane one instead? I don't hate the idea of a Han movie but this early on? That's what I'm iffy about
Because that which drives Disney is even more powerful than the force. Creating merchandise to sell to kids. A Han Solo movie will sell way more toys to kids, and attract many more parents with their kids to the theatres, unlike a Darth Bane film (which I'd rather see).
Pizza Fish If they made a babe movie before a solo one, there's no saying Ford isn't gonna die in the making, I'd rather them make the solo movie so they don't lose the opportunity
zannah would be dead already. and this is the force doing this with the lingering power of the darkside shit like this pretty much happens in every sith temple.
Invisible Person, it's a bit of both. Zannah slayed Bane & his soul went to hell, but a small portion of his essence possessed her body. However, I would assume that when she died, that portion of Bane's essence went with her to hell.
@@eddieguererro46 According to Dynasty of Evil, his arm was cut off by Zannah's sorcery and it was intact after his death. If that duel is still canon, Hannah could have taken the arm and buried it in Moraband.
One of the most consequential and underrated story arcs of the entire series. Moments like this make me want to throw money at Lucas. But he’s sitting on billions so I’ll buy popcorn instead and rewatch the Clone Wars.
Daniel Wakefield Christ, I hate to see it come to this. 1) Karnass Muur 2) Ajunta Pall 3) Xo Xaan 4) Marka Ragnos 5) Ludo Kressh 6) Naga Sadow 7) Freedon Nadd 8) Exar Kun 9) Ulic Qel-Droma 10) Darth Andeddu 11) Darth Traya 12) Darth Revan 13) Darth Malek 14) Darth Bandon 15) Darth Nihilius 16) Darth Scion 17) Darth Malgus 18) Darth Desolous 19) Darth Phobos 20) Darth Ruin 21) Darth Rivan This is the part where you admit you were wrong.
@@PerovNigma the coral wasn’t a permanent thing for him. The corals were these things called orbalisks and were basically parasites that offered great power if you could withstand their torture. Bane did for a long time and was unstoppable with the armor, but it took its toll and he had it removed. Bane’s regular look was him having no helmet and wearing Sith robes and light armor
Technically this is included in legends as well, as it was released on March 7, 2014 before the official April 25, 2014 Disney/EU split. Of course it's included in Disney canon as well cause the Clone Wars was still making lots of money in toy sales at the time.
@@iordanisfra lol, you only call it a draw because you don’t want to admit Yoda lost. He did, he fell off the senate pod, on the hard floor, and decided to retreat. He ran away, deal with it.
You know, when I first saw this, I was skeptical about Mark Hamill doing Darth Bane. When I later read the books, I imagined him as more of a Josh Brolin. Then I recently started watching Last Airbender, and yyyep. Now I get it.
Darth bane: Why do you come to my tomb jedi? Yoda: To learn. Darth bane: Do you know who i am? Yoda: Yes. Darth bane, the ancient sith lord you are. Darth bane: And know why i am not forgotten? Yoda: Created the rule of two, you did! Darth bane: The sith killed each other victims of their own greed but from the ashes of the destruction, I was the last survivor i chose to pass my knowledge onto only one, I created a legacy so resilient, that now you come before me.(Chuckles).Have you come to be my apprentice? You must kill me to gain my place. Yoda: Dead you are already. Darth bane: (Chuckles) Then what stands before you? Yoda: An illusion. Real, you are not. Darth bane: You do not fear me? Yoda: No. Exist, you do not anymore.
One thing I'd REALLY pay for is to hear an audiobook version of Darth Bane: Path of Power, Rule of Two and Dynasty of Evil, featuring Mark Hamill as Bane.
The clone wars is canon and considering darth bane is in it and HE is canon Darth Bane being in the series means that the old republic happened, THE OLD REPUBLIC OS CANON!!!!
If I may, does it matter what's official canon and what's not? We can enjoy stories any way we want. Canon only matters when discussing the hypothetical.
+Matthew Marchbanks it matters if you're talking about what led up to a certain point. It's safe to assume that some things can be called "Canon" so long as something new doesn't come in and ruin the continuity of the lore. So in a way, you are correct.
“You know who I am?” “Yes. Fire Lord Ozai, you are. Devastated the balance of this world, you and your forefathers have. Now, pay the ultimate price, you shall.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic Darth Vader and Anakin were two different entities, Sure Anakin was restored to his senses and lived on as a Force Ghost, but the Dark Side ghost could still be wandering, separated from Darth Vader as two different beings. Kylo Ren most likely sees him.
So something like Darth Revan ? Light side embraced the force and became one with it,while the dark side refused to die and came back to bring the Emperor back to life so he could kill him himself.
I wasnt talking about Sidious.I was talking about Darth Vitiate a.k.a Valkorion from The Old Republic. You know the one that imprisoned Revan and used his power and knowledge to beat the Empire and the Republic.
1:28 When Yoda said "Dead you are," it reminded me of that parody, "Palpatine's Journey." Yoda says to Palpatine, "Dead I am ok? Dead I would like you to be as well!"
I swear Mark Hamill's voice was both a gift from the big G upstairs and the Devil combined so that he could bless us with these horrifying characters. A god damn icon, you are, Hamill. Never forgotten, shall your talents be.
this Darth bane follows George Lucas original backstory version where the sith did kill each other in big battle and Darth bane was last survivor of the battle.
