something about the weirdly high framerate rotoscoping happening at the same time as the most unhinged scatting I've ever heard just activated all my neurons at once
“Guh Lah Guh.” I’ll never understand why anyone says it that way… even if they are right. I mean, Galaxy seems the be the word they based it on, so: Gal uh guh
Arin nails all the voices throughout the Starbomb songs, like his charismatic voice in It’s Dangerous Alone, his screechy voice in Luigi’s Ballad, his goofy one in Overwatch rap, etc.
I just want whoever wrote the wikipedia entry for Squark to know, I read the whole thing, and the stylistic accuracy of the whole thing is incredible. RIP Arnold and Daniel, though.
I’ve always said whenever that happens it’s Danny’s “toughest f***ing ninja” training coming back out and he’s using substitution to replace himself with the dummy
Dude, shigloo animating starbomb is a match made in heaven. This needs to be THE pairing!!!! The bounce and rhythm, the energy, the animation isn't just a good complement - the animation and the audio actively raise each other up into a total greater than the sum of its parts!
To anybody wondering the tone and style of the song is heavily inspired by The Yin Yang Twins, "The Whisper Song" It came out somewhere in 2003 or 2004
what the song failed to mention is that any true Squark fan would also recommend you read "The Chronicles of Squark" (a nine book series detailing the lore of Squark and his skateboard) before playing the first game
I dunno. The books are good but they contradict the game at some points (at least the original). Their canon status is dubious and clearly written by people who only played the remake.
@@blakdeth Especially considering Squark's skateboard didn't even come around until the remake, there's just a lot to be desired coming from a nine book series. Of course, though, I read them all in one day at least 4 times a year like any truly dedicated Squark fan.
@@TenikoGamesI hear Squark: The First Film will be more of a beat-for-beat retelling of Squark, which I am very happy about, and although Squark, the remake of Squark, definitely turned out to be a more accessible skateboard romp and more wildly successful, monetarily speaking in comparison to Squark, it’s still very nice to see OG Squark fans giving their due flowers to the title that started it all.
I liked it better when Squark used roller blades. The whole shift to a skateboard seemed more like trend-chasing than a meaningful addition. Like, movement was so fluid and snappy on the blades, but on the skateboard it felt more like controlling a cart, or a shopping cart. Not to mention, without the roller blades, he couldn't kick grenades anymore. Totally censored my boy all to appease Nintendo's family-friendly nonsense.
I’m watching for the 3rd time and keep finding more & more cool shit! So smooth and full of details that only lasts a few frames, but add SO MUCH character. New fave animator
THE BREAKDOWNS IN THIS SONG SOUND SO BEAUTIFULLY INCORRECT THAT I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, i genuinely cannot believe how much the starbomb production quality has soared during their hiatus, I can’t wait to hear what hype instrumentals the squad comes up with next. :)
The amount of rotoscoping used was as impressive as it was hilarious. The Smiling Friends energy here is infectious, especially in games like Gromblitz and Regular Sword.
@@NIX-FLIXWasn't that just because of the lack of a English translation? Theres a bunch of fanmade ones, just download and play one. The game is so good, please get OG Plerm
The animation for this one was absolutely top notch, the way Shigloo draws Ninja Brian is one of the most amazing things I’ve laid my eyes upon in a while lmao
without reading the lyrics I’m gonna make the prediction that the song is either Dan saying “oh boy is the new game on NSO (insert infamously good games here)“ and then listening a bunch of good games and then Arin going “NOPE ITS (insert shitty game here)” and then singing about why it’s great while Dan goes “Erm but what about (list of infamous good games again) and then Arin says “WHO CARES WHEN YOU HAVE (insert shitty game again)” Or the song will just be that formula but Arin is listing a bunch of bad games being added (either real bad games or just a bunch of shitty jokes on a row) and then Dan sings a ballad either about wanting a good game or just something like “Ooooooh We got so many games on NSOoooooooh”. Almost every StarBomb song is just one of them listing a bunch of bad jokes and the other one going “erm what the scallop thats not actually a good thing”. Sucks man.
The neon segments where it feels like Arin is trying to tell you what the music in a water level sounds like but also getting way too into it, it will haunt my dreams. I'll be seeing this Nintendo Direct in my sleep. I can play Classic Plerm for a limited time at least.
I’m loving the more frequent incorporation of multi-syllable rhymes (exp. Pachinko De Mayo/Toledo Ohio, Warrior/more of your, etc) The lyricism & flows have come very far 🔥
Absolutely great! Shigloo and team have absolutely killed it with this video. Also congrats on making a whisper song that somehow doesn't trigger my misophonia.
Can't agree, Squark was such a one-dimensional character in the original. He's so much cooler when you can do a quintuple dickflip on a skateboard. And it's not like you miss a lot of plot, if you skipped the original Squark any way..
The animation on this is phenomenal 0:14 this crouch walk and lipsync is just so good I love everything but this especially fits so well with the whisper audio
This was just the NSO announcement. Fortunately for us, this song is canonically bookended on both ends with 20 minutes of 3 farming simulators each, (and an overview trailer for the real Farming Simulator 2024) before ending on a 2D-HD RPG that feels like it would've been a big announcement if it didn't look indistinguishable from any other turn based RPG in the last 6 or 7 years. For the record, it's called "Cross Project: A Project Crossover: Working title" or something. (it's the final title.)
I challenge the homebrew community to start making all of these games. I look forward to playing Ronnie’s Barnyard Tussle and spectating the blindfolded speedrunners.
