They basically train you by hands on muscle memory. The amount of pumps for Iced and Hot drinks vary and they're not all the same amounts of pumps for each sized cups. They literally do not have small pictures and its ingredients mounted on employee walls like at normal restaurants/tea/boba tea/other coffee shops, they have it in this tiny booklet of the recipes, but on a busy day who actually has the time to get a ticket, look at the small recipe book and search for the correct drink, and then make the drink. You do all of those drinks with muscle memory so it's good for videos like these for baristas in training especially at starbucks for visual learning and actually having that imagery in our heads because hands on especially in a rushed environment isn't easy to learn and grasp as fast.
This helped a lot. I generally don't understand anything other than just tea/coffee, and my grown daughter just keeps spouting off all these strange names of drinks they like, some even from Starbucks. I now have a clearer idea what she has been talking about. Again thank you for this video.
not gonna lie this helped so much as a beginning barista at starbucks there’s really no visuals that help you remember what to put in these drink but by simply watching this video i’m understanding even more then i did before THANKS!
coming up to my first year working at the green mermaid I'm surprised alot of people don't know what is in their drinks and the options they are open to. if I wasnt camera shy I'd make a video like this as well but glad you did and explained it really well. and please don't be shy to ask us baristas questions, we are happy to help and guide you through the different options and ways you can perfect your coffee 🤗
thanks alot,i have one question if you don't mind to help n answer, when i blended ice n liquid including coffee n milk n ice it didn't become homogeneous mixture like there was liquid separated from the slush,ie coffee mixture n milk i mean,i forgot to add ice,any tip to get the right, plx help i was making caramel Frappuccino, thanks in advance
So helpful! The menu can be confusing and this will definitely help me order with confidence! :) Could you maybe make a video explaining steamers, flat whites, or refreshers? I love your channel! Your vlogs and videos are so relaxing!
Both starbucks explained videos were very informative and interesting. Thanks for making these videos, i am now no longer a noob when it comes to coffee. Ps. Crème is pronounced crem :)
Actually I started getting drinks from Starbucks recently after I saw your videos on your blog, and I really wish I can try the drinks you make.. I had the mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino and the ice brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso and I ain’t like it, it didn’t tasted like nothing and the espresso makes me had a headache. 🤣
I like your videos! Especially I really like Starbucks’s caramel macchiato. If you wanted something hot, you can order a grande hot caramel macchiato with non fat milk, make it less sweet (or normal) because I always order with less sweet and if you want you can change the coffee into decaf/medium coffee or maybe double shot. It definitely taste really good 😊
Startbucks you don't have anahata ( green) charkra _ all out out out __ please don't don't don't don't _ from jesus christ ❤( from ( green) boptisom universe )
please do more vids like this ! I'm hoping to get hired myself as a target barista and this has been very helpful because i have no experience so thank you your vids help a lot :)
Great video you explained everything so well my go to is the macchiato but I want to try others like the cold brews. Hopefully you can explain those next.
i started work in Starbucks, and have no experience about coffee, or anything, but it's very curious for me to expand my skill being barista, thanks for sharing
I just recently started drinking coffee after years and years of seemingly being the only grownup out in the world who didn't like coffee, but I've fallen in love with coffee! Ever since my coffee love story began all I want is to understand how to order coffee, understand the differences between them, and eventually learn how to make them at home. Your video has become an absolute favorite of mine! Thank you for sharing all this info!
what is the base? any idea to understand, like what base is made of ? and I.have ome question more that ,when I bleded coffee with the ice n milk in my vitamix with much ice, everything was thick but there was little coffee or liquid at the bottom that was separated from slush, i figured that i forgot to add sugar now will try this again, any tips you wana share plx help thanks i was making caramel Frappuccino at home, that i saw at Starbucks while the guy was preparing thanks
I usually get a caramel macchiato but I just don’t like how much milk they carry and even when I ask for less milk it’s still too much for my liking. What would you recommend? Would that be like a shaken espresso?
no, shaken espresso still has the same amount of milk. I suggest getting dopios over ice and say splash of milk. it's somewhat an alternative but it's basically how we can build your drink to your liking. it's where you can say how much milk you want.
A shaken espresso does not or should not have the same amount of milk as a latte if made correctly. It does have more espresso though. If your getting a venti it’s going to have four shots of espresso, ice, and whatever syrup in the shaker. That’ll be shaken and poured into the cup. It should have a thick layer of foam from shaking it. Then it’ll be topped with about an inch of milk. Hope that helps better explain the drink :)
oh my goodness! thank you so much, maria, for making this video! this is exactly what i asked for in your community post and im so glad that you were able to explain frappes so well! ive learned a lot so thank you. i was also going to ask, if i wanted a minty, peppermint frappuccino, would it be possible to order? as well as a fruit themed one. as in, what would i need to tell the barista if i wanted to order those drinks? if you could please let me know, i would greatly appreciate it! thank you for posting this amazing video! have a lovely day :) 🌻
the starbucks caramel macchiato is just the inverse to an espresso macchiato in the "coffee world" it's a latte macchiato with vanilla syrup and caramel drizzle. If I recall correctly there is a theory that my coworkers came up with and that is that starbucks didn't include the "latte" part in the name as to not confuse customers.
How is it working at tarbucks? I got an interview today and I’m supposed to start next week and I’m so nervous! Is it busy? do you work at other departments as well? Any tips for a newbie? Btw I love your vids ❤️
good luck omg!!❤ it's mostly chill and dead during weekdays, but weekends could get busy. just keep practicing the drink and you'll for sure remember how to do everything😁👍
Maybe you can make one explaining the difference between ice coffee and cold brews? I try to make my coffee at home and I noticed Starbucks sells both ice coffee and cold brews. Does it matter for my vanilla sweet cream cold brew?
Ok im not a barista but I believe the coffee is just regular brew vs the cold brew is a concentrate meaning it was brewed in reg temp water for a number of hours and up to 24 hrs. eta if you want your vsccb to taste like Starbucks yes use cold brew Also if you want to make your own cold brew- this is what works for me 1 cup of coarse dark roast coffee grounds to 5-6 cups of water and let it steep for 18-24 hours
Wait wait wait… So my daughter asks for a mocha cookie crumble frapp, no whip. Is that the same thing as a Java chip frap with no whip? 🤯😂 asking for a friend
This video helps alot! Great explanation and straight to the point 😁. Perhaps for other videos you can speak a bit slower as it's a bit difficult to take in everything so quickly when you're rushing off to explaining something else. I'm definitely subscribing!! 👏✔
You didn't show the step by step of getting to that consistency of the frapucchino. To my very watery msale, my mixer is 1500 whats (peabody six blade)
I heard a lot about the "base" this and the "base" that. It's important to include the "base" in a mocha frappuccino. but no info on what's in it, how much to use or how to make it.
I remember the first time I had a Frappuccino it wasn’t made right and the texture was a bunch of big chunks of ice not blended correctly. I told someone I tried it and didn’t understand why people liked it so much and described the texture. They told me it’s not supposed to be like that. Had I not mentioned that to someone I would’ve never bought one again since someone messed it up my very first time.
I get the same coffee frap with extra ice , 2% milk , and 3 pumps of liquid cane sugar every single day… and I stg every single day there is a different person making it and some of them don’t know what they are doing at all!! It will be absolutely perfect one day and then the next it taste like perfume (if that makes sense) and the ice will not be completely blended… I’m like look u can tell when u have blended it or not , it doesn’t take a genius to see there’s huge chunks of ice in it… and they always look like it’s a problem to remake it right and I’m like well this is a $7 drink so I expect a $7 drink! I just wish I could get it right and exactly the same every single day. 😭😭 what are they doing wrong when it tastes funny like that?
I work I a coffee shop, as I make Frappuccino, I found that it is difficult to put out the ICE, or it is stick in the pitch, how can I pour it out smoothly ?
I’ve been trying to order a Carmel frapp with espresso coffee not powder coffee how do I order this? They mess up every time. They also ask me to ass shots to the drink but I dont want to pay extra if I can just order correctly they first round with the espresso I wouldn’t need to add the shots to my frapp only few places know exactly what I mean but they are 75 miles away from my home my local ones have a new barista every time I go and it’s a bummer
@@kensigregory361 but than taxes for caramel whip cream, and they still asked me if I want to add a shot of espresso like, isn’t it supposed to be meeting with espresso already?
@@ejay7618 Espresso frappes are made with espresso. So, you'd only get caramel on top of it. You can also try the caramel crunch, then get a shot of espresso too. So so good.
binge watching all stores of starbucks videos because ive been thinking of working there ! these explained videos genuinely help so much to get a grip of the ingredients that go in it ^^ love u and ur channel !!!!
do you have any tips on putting the dome lids on the venti frappucinnos? 😟 my 2nd day of training i tried to put one on and it slipped and got all over me, my apron, and the floor :/ ever since then I've been unable to put them on (half out of fear half of not being able to do it) and my coworkers have had to step in every time. i just cant put it on when the cup is so tall and full! any advice would be much appreciated ty
In some of my vlogs I make a black cup of coffee. We have a regular in the mornings who gets one🤩 It's great asmr of pouring the black coffee into the cup😁
@@MariaMarmora cool I just have not seen You Pour one. What's going on this afternoon? Could You get next Weekend off? Going to continue doing Shows I see? Great Shop to work at.
Hello! Thank you for the help with the frappe! My favorite order is a white chocolate frappe with chocolate chips. My question is if there is dairy in a cream frappe. I am lactose intolerant so I usually just sub normal milk with almond milk. Would there be any other dairy in a cream frappe?
Cream frapps are just frapps w/o coffee. You can change the milk to your liking, but some of the sauces have dairy in it. One of the ingredients in the white chocolate sauce is nonfat condensed milk.
Thank you for these vids!! A new coffee shop just opened up in my town but the nearest sbux is an hour away, now I can tell them how to make my fave drinks :)
This is so cool! I wish they had a menu for diabetics! I hate going and asking if they can make me a low carb Frappuccino and they always tell me no. I always leave so disappointed.
Thanks:) and yeah, I get it! They used to have a Light Base years ago, which was considered the healthier version of the bases. I love frappuccinos but never have them because of the sugars and stuff. I haven’t come up with a good solution to consume frappuccinos in a better way:/
