I know, right? I remember being 20 in 2010, having played SC1 since 2000 or 2001, back when I was 10. I was so giddy, excited to play this. Now it's 2020 and time flew... Good days.
It was in the latter part of the Wing of Liberty protoss campaign that I first heard this music. The dramatic moment when the last protoss must fight to the last😭😭, the agreement is perfect😍😍
I started playing it back in 2010. My brother wanted me to start the campaign. It was ok but not really sick. One year later I finished the campaign and somehow fell in love with all facets of that game. I was just 11 years old. When I turned 12, I hit plat in ranked 1v1 with Protoss. Such a passion, dedication and pride. For some reason I quit ranked for arcade until I played less and less. No I‘m 19 and can say it was the best time of my life; the feelings when remembering the old days are more than nostalgia, it is pure Life. Also the e-sports scene was a real vibe. The best strategy game of all time. My life for Aiur.
Man, i was 12years old in 2010. My first ever online game was starcraft 2, just by watching my older brother i figuerd out a way to rush gold haha, i once was grandmaster for some days. Man i remember ranking up to master, still one of my most memorable moments in my life. those emotions of achievemnt i have yet to conquer in reallife. sc2 ♥
The first song is so sad... it fits so well with the last prophecy mission "in utter darkness" a race that once owned the galaxy but suddenly it went to its extintion, the last warriors falling against billions of zergs, the last of their race
Brings back memories of the SC2 beta, when all the background music was Protoss Theme. I was one of the first 3000 who opted into the beta, 6 months of daily scrims, cheesing void rays and reapers, 6 pool zerg rush, good times
That part was so atmospheric when the protons made their final stand while they were fighting and dying in agony that song really set the tone. It was sad, a sign that they're glorious race would go out in a blaze of glory with they would do so is one.
Yes, I think the protoss ost in WoL fits much more into the protoss as a race... And remember the first game... LoTV is just a mix of star wars / cinematic ost, and for me it doesn't help with the hopeless and haziness ambience like the prophecies missions with zeratul in WoL
Man the one that starts at 9:00 wow what a masterpiece, you feel the sadness in this piece, this struggle the protoss endured to survive. Music is truly majestic
Well said brother. There's a certain hallowed nature to it, like as a solemn respect or sacredness for all that happened and is going on and will go on in the big picture and honors all the sacrifice to get to that point. Still my favorite too.
Summer 2016. Legion era was about to start. The second half of Legion's timeframe was the beginning of Stormblood. Good times jumping between the two games.
I know Raynor has a long way to go, and so Does Artanis, how will he deal with killing his brother? though the protoss have united the dark and the light and Tassadar and now Zeratul are gone who will be the most charismatic leader? it was fun to see Artanis grow from the brood wars on..... and now... also Legacy of the void was big let down, the protoss got nothing compared to the earlier expansions... if anything they got more and more nerfed each expansion.
I’m still kind of hoping for a next chapter to be honest. Neadra taking charge of the swarm after Zagara’s “vision” inevitably faceplants, would be awesome. The Protoss descending into a new era of strife after cutting themselves off from the kahla, with some new Adun having to try and salvage some remnant of their civilisation. Meanwhile, the Terrans are having to navigate all this while their dominion is going the way of the Soviet Union. Everything back to business as usual. 👌
@@fredrikhelland8194 I know right!? Heck, what if some Zerg want a Queen or King of Blades and they try to recreate one by abducting terrans? So much story potential on all sides.
Dude broodwar had amazing music, WoL had good music like the terran and protoss themes, the protoss one that basically defines sc2 for me, and now at days we have like 1 good theme and themes from this time
