Its done to drive up their engagement numbers. It looks good to their marketing team and investors if they can get people playing the game for a long time. Even if the experience is absolutely boring, unfulfilling, and lacking in unique content. Its an anti-consumer design choice and its not about player enjoyment, its about squeezing the player for their time to make it look like a good game to investors.

You are forced to use bracers to block entry points. So if you want a compact ship, its gonna be painful. If you get clever, you can probably do it. I got clever with mine to add a few more utility habs to my ship.

Everspace 2, Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, and probably some other games all have what zanny was asking for in terms of space exploration. Todd Howard: We expect this game to provide 10 years of gameplay. Now we know what he meant. It'll take ten years before anyone finds anything exciting to do. The biggest thing about the game is building your ship, but it's a ship you can't walk into or fly off the planet, down onto planets, or from planet to planet. It's just loading screens and fast travel. It'd be like Red Dead Redemption allowing you to fully design and maintain your horse, but you only get to ride it during certain missions and not in free-roam.

I agree on the inventory weight 💀💀💀 Like in Starfield you get so much stuff along the way including much needed items like ship parts and crafting items, but you reach max load too quickly.

@@convergence1point that is so baffling for me though. Like why??? The fact that you can loot everything off the character is always part of the charm of Bethesda games. That you get everything you saw unlike other game where you saw mobs wearing the coolest piece ever but when you loot them you got nothing like it was showed. Why can't we do it this time wtf? I had a lot of fun just doing the faction questlines and ignoring the main story and exploration stuff. I feel like they should have focused more on the smaller number of planets that have large hubs and had us travel between those, rather than putting a bunch of empty planets for the exploration side of the game that didn't get a lot of focus anyway. Like fully going in on the RPG side of things rather than trying to be both a decent RPG and a poor space sim

They didn't even have vehicles to explore the planets with. Planets are more barren than No Mans Sky, and there you can actually explore the entire planet. This whole game is a snoozefest and thankfully with game pass I didn't have to buy it. Never was an uninstall so easy

Depends on the gun and your level. You can level up attributes that let your weapons do more dmg. So when I was lvl 20 completing the main story final fight it was difficult and I was sweating but now after NG+3 for me at lvl 51, I shred through the starborn enemies and take very little dmg. What took me 20 medpacks to do now only takes me like 5, plus some fancy powers.

The big issue is that he was using an automatic weapon, which makes your per bullet damage absolutely terrible. Don't ask how that makes any sense, it's just a very silly balance decision. And it looks like he dabbled a lot of points into different non-combat stuff (like persuasion, carry weight) and didn't really have mods on his guns (basically, his build wasn't very good for combat). Also difficulty settings tend to make enemies tougher. It's not as absurd as with skyrim or fallout games in the past where legendary difficulty enemies take forever to kill unless you've minmaxed or exploited the game, but they tend to be pretty tanky.

What changed the game a lot for me is when i found out you can fast travel through the scanner and by pointing your ship towards a system and pushing e to select and then r to travel, it makes you allocate energy into the grav drive and really feels more immersive.

The game is realistic zanny. Like you said, it would literally take years to fly to planets without the grav jump or the 'loading screens' as you call them. and there being nothing to do on planets is another realism thing. space is empty, theres not gonna be an advanced interstellar civilasation on every planet... theres just rock. thats astronomy for you. thats realistic

My guess is that zanny keeps running out of ammo because he's using automatic weapons. Automatic weapons in this game completely tank your damage per shot which means you need to use far more ammo to kill the same enemy. And you basically have to hold back from using weapons with rare ammo early on since you can't craft ammo in this game, so you either have to buy ammo or collect enough while using other weapons. For me, I found that using a decent semi-auto maelstrom or grendel will get you through the early game with a net positive in ammo (since most common ammo types dropped by human enemies are 6.5 mm and 7.77mm ammo), then you can transition to beowulf (7.77) when those start spawning. Laser weapons can also be great for ammo efficiency since the ammo for them are so common especially when fighting robots/turrets, but they have maybe like 5 weapon types total.
