ooooofcourse you have to be on a planet that supports life for it to work, Silly me, and here I was thinking that the whole point of a greenhouse was to grow plants in an environment they otherwise couldnt survive in.
Exactly. I put an outpost on earth near the empire state building. It wont let me put a greenhouse there. I was so disapointed. Its a desolute planet, why the hell shouldnt you be allowed to grow food there? Lol
i've already played at least 40 hours now, and i just found out the shortcut to drop things into cargo ship without entering the ship! i feel stupid for didn't try that before! Thanks a lot, of course thanks for the horticulture guide cause the game doesn't tells you anything.
KIBBLES! your videos are amazing, man.....i was just looking gor how to farm this andnpoof there you are. Thx for your efforts and dedication to making these vids
I always play youtube on 1.25 or 1.5 speed since people ramble or talk incredibly slowly, probably just to get to their ad time. This guy is succinct, with perfect speech rate and valuable info. Subscribed.
Thank you so much, I didn’t know you could go back into it from the scanner I was running back to the outpost beacon each time and cursing that there was no workshop v key like fo4, I originally came here to figure out how to place the greenhouse so thanks for that too, The game doesn’t explain or tell you these things at all and I was going mad wondering where it was
or you can just use personal atmosphere... and run back to your ship normally...you can be as over limit as you want and personal atmosphere skill still makes running cost 0 and refills oxygen to full while it lasts.
@@charntsabre3463 its a spell you get pretty early on in the game that creates a field of oyxgen around you that fills your oxygen(stamina) and keeps it full for the duration... it also removes co2 (which you get for running longer than you have oxygen/stamina)
Personal atmosphere is awesome...unless you have 25000 mass worth of Adaptive frames on yah...then it'll still kill you to run to the vendor to sell them shits
i think there is but it takes a particular creature! i cant remember at mo... may need a farm! update: beta marae 1, deciduous forest, beetlecrabs. needs farm but you'll need to supply it with fibre (its not on that planet if i recall so it has to be imported) and you'll need zoology lev 1 minimum
So the skill seems to imply you can get higher rarity resurces but after playing around with both Botany and Zoology, I don't seem to be getting diddly squat of rarer things.
It seems to work like geology, as in it doesn't increase the likelihood of a plant dropping a higher tier thing, but the ones that do drop more. So if you have tier 1 instead of harvesting 1 fibre or 1 nutrient per plant you'll get 2 sometimes. Tier 2 will increase things like I think sealant and aggressive, tier 3 stuff like hallucinogens etc. Not super useful until you get to tier 4 and then everything has a chance to give extra stuff of seemingly random tier
14:35 You are on a planet that is rotating at twice the speed of UT, meaning if you wait 24 hours on that planet you only get 12 hours of production. Instead put 10 or 50, however many containers you want full and link them all together, than warp over to venus in sol system, you know right by earth. You got 14 adhesive waiting for 20 hours, which on that planet was only 10 hours UT. So you are making 1.4 adhesive / UT. On venus its a ratio of like 83 / 1. So if you rest for 1 hour on your planet you get 0.7 adhesive. If you rest for 1 hour on venus you get 116 adhesive. If your est for a full 24 hours on venus you get about 2,000 adhesive or enough to fill almost 15 containers.
Now the question i have is.... can you cultivate a planet scanned on one planet on another planet. Like i want to produce snake oil and need chlorine, metabolic agent, and sedative. I want to scan the plants on the various worlds then grow them where i can get chlorine.
oh i have a ton of outposts feeding my main outpost, nearly every metal/gas/liquid/other stuff! looks like a bloody cargo port ive got that much, 3 pads on most outposts... its well mad! at any one time i constantly have 300 alu and iron (and most other stuff!) its so crazy but all that stuff you can build then make money out of! and unlike fallout 4... no bloody settlers (bar crew you assign yourself!)
Don’t know if anyone’s clicked to this yet but the planet serpentis III has lore surrounding it that the plants grow faster there I don’t do the farming but maybe someone here would like to test it some computers and data files speak about the fauna growing at a 15% faster rate than anywhere else landed at the abandoned farm scientist speaks about it on data slate and there’s an abandoned UC outpost not far away with a gentleman speaking about it in his computer files
I am so exhausted. I didnt realize how tedious this is. I have been trying to build for solvent, and everywhere i go on Gagarin, there are stupid POI structures and won't let me place outpost. Yea, sure buying it ok, but i need it in bulk. Frustrating to say the least
That’s not true I’ve scanned everything on many planets to 100% and I can’t produce nutrients in my greenhouse and I’ve scanned nutrient plants to 100% on 15 different planets and still no outpost production allowed requires further scanning. So if I only needed 100% on a plant on the planet I’m on why am I being told to scan more nutrient plants when I’ve done that to 100% on 15 different planets including the planet my greenhouse is on. This is misleading. It doesn’t work like that and you’re not being clear. It seems you have to do more scanning on 100’s of planets to 100% to produce nutrients.
I can confirm that by following this guide and trying to make an outpost on Jemison - which I had previously 100% scanned - I still cannot build those farming buildings. In fact I cannot get them to show up anywhere I had previously 100% scanned planets before getting the necessary skills to build farming buildings
😑 over 200hours and just found out about the remote storage if your within 200 meter of ship. i thought it was a bug and thats why it popped up sometimes
Hey, i have multiple outposts in planets that I have 100% scanned including Jemerson. I have outpost engineering 2, Zoology 1, Botany 1 but I can not build either the botany or Horticulture at all or any of my outpost, I have also researched them all too, any one else have this issue?
@@peter-gl6sh hey dude, yeahhh, I figured this out minutes after I posted this comment lmao. Annoying considering I spent hours trying to figure it out before I commented lmao
Sooo.. lvl1 botany is completely useles withour lvl1 Outpost managment and I can't get outpost management without spending 6 more points in botany and other skills I'm not interested in. Feels like Bethesda did this on purpose just to fuck with us.
Forget the scan booster it is a waste of resources. It does not increase your scanning range it only increases your rangefining distance and only while you are inside of the outpost perimeter. Useless.
Actually figure out what skill points you need to invest next time before putting out a video. One or two skill points could be an hour or two of extra play for someone who isn’t using any exploits. As well as what ingredients you would need, it’s so annoying for you to go “oh yeah I didn’t mention fluorine guess you’ll have to go back and get it”
The botany tree and farming is so incredibly stupid in this game. - You can’t grow basic fruits and vegetables. - You can only grow plants that yield resources. - You can only grow plants you have scanned to 100%. - You can only grow plants in a greenhouse ON THE PLANET YOU SCANNED THEM. Being unable to grow basic food items makes the gastronomy skill all but useless. Good luck trying to find materials and visiting vendors to buy materials to make a meal. I can’t believe Bethesda actually found a way to make the farming from Fallout 4 and Skyrim even WORSE and completely stupid. This game is such a damn train wreck. It’s like Bethesda just made a platform specifically for modders to fix and improve upon.
Quite simple, build an outpost and produce modules on a large scale for 98xp each. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_TU9bBnuEi0.html It's not a cheat, it's part of the game.
