STARFIELD LOOKS MASSIVE! Starfield Direct Reaction 

What are you looking forward to most in Starfield? The character creation, exploring the planets, stealing sandwiches, or customizing your spaceship?

The modding potential for this is absolutely off the charts. Can't wait to play it (PC)

I am so stoked for this game now! Being able to dock with a ship and take it over is just SO awesome!

From what I understand, the planets themselves are not different, they will be the same each time, but what you find on those planets in terms of the hand crafted locations will differ. There's a shot later in the video of them showing the same place twice but with a different building sitting there. Same terrain/world, but different map location was placed there. The way Todd explained it in a previous interview was that they procedurally generated a bunch of huge map tiles, then hand decorated them, then put those into another procedural system that stitched them together into planets.

If they nail this, it will be the biggest redemption arc in the industry

One of the best showcases I've ever seen. So much so, that I broke my rule about preordering games. Damn you, Starfield Direct! But Sept 1 can't come quick enough. And wait until modders get their hands on this game - new content for years to come.

Probably find me a planet, nice view, cool creatures, build an awesome base, loot ships, sell them, make bigger ships, probably work out the lore of the game, gosh its kind of endless, and I suspect they will probably patch in some new features as the years progress - its gonna be awesome!!

Hi. No, the planets are the same. What could change is optional hand crafted post in a planet, that's is random. Not the mail and side mission destination of course

"How long will this game be?" They want you to be playing it at least the same number of years it took to make it.

I will be using the character creator to try and make Nathan Fillion AKA Malcolm Reynolds. And you bet when I get enough resources I am making the Serenity.

I can't wait to make myself. I always do that for my first playthrough it helps me completely immerse myself into the world as I'm making choices I personally would make.

Starfield was first trademarked on September 13, 2013. So just under 10 years in development. Quite a long time for a single player game. Unfortunately, the planets are only levels and not "real planets".

It’s jumping from planet to planet to planet with out cut scenes or stopping I’ll be shocked if they got this glitch free and does better then cyberpunk

I am still playing Skyrim, this will be a nice change after 12 years. =)

Thousand planets sounds like a lot but assuming 7 planets per solar system on average that is only 142 solar systems you can visit. The only good thing is that the planets are procedural so at least you will get some variety although with exception of hand made content no planet is going to match someone else's game even if they are in the same solar system.

I'm excited for this game so much. I am looking forward to playing a Mercenary who also is a little bit of a diplomat. Just a simple man trying to make his way in the universe. Also I'll be recruiting everyone I possibly can to my ship.

Why does the presentation sound like it's going to be a No Man Sky's release combined with the 76 quality? The usual Bethesda quality, I guess. Over a 1000 worlds, 4 times the details, because it just works... like 76

So excited for this game! This showcase was epic! Im guessing most of the story and side quest planets are handcrafted and will be the same for everyone and the other planets for exploring/resources are generated. Glad they delayed it. It looks WAY better than when they showed it off last year. It better actually come out in September!! Lol
