There were some shots in the Starfield Direct vid where they had some sort of rifle on display on a table if I remember correctly, which is pretty cool. I imagine we'll be able to display our weapons in outposts. I too would love to defend our outposts from random raids or predatory wildlife. I like the idea of having a ''high risk high reward system'' where you can build an outpost with valuable resources you can mine but you're at more risk of raids. Where the risk is, if your defense is not good enough, they take a % out of your cargo that you have produced thus far. forcing you to build more defenses etc.
Awesome vid as usual, cannot wait to see what you are going to build. About defenses, I saw somewhere some kind of "defense mini drone", of course this does not mean we won't get also turrets . The "watch tower" instead might be something related to air traffic, it has been confirmed we will be able to set "trade routes" and have NPCs ships moving cargo between outposts (like Fallout 4 provisioners), so my questions are...can we have some sort of central "industrial base" creating stuff automatically, and, can we also have actual traders selling final goods somewhere? I do think we can collect resources on auto, but, like No Man's Sky, we might be forced to then sell stuff ourselves...what do you think?
The isometric camera will be great for base-building. Fallout 4 was the worst. You had to stare up at the sky while scrolling your wheel to place things at a distance, pixel-punting, from near impossible angles. It was a complete disaster. Worst base-building mechanic that I've ever experienced in a video game.
Big mistake going with compartment modular construction which will be devoid of player creativity compared to the endless creativity offered by part construction in No Man's Sky... Star Citizen is making the same mistake because compartment modular is much easier to develope... Hope Starfield and Star Citizen wake up to the base building creativity that players want...
I disagree a lot. Fallout 4s free build system was janky af and very clunky. Modular prefabs are the way to go, otherwise you'd end up with floating structures and weird unrealistic looking abominations.
Does anyone know if we get something like space ore mining? like in eve online or X4? I would like to mine stuff and sell for profit. All I know so far is you can mine with a gun laser on the planet surface or you can place outpost that will mine resources from the planet so I guess there is no space mining at all.
I haven't been watching much starfield stuff. I just know that I was gonna buy it because...bethesda. 😅 I'm a little disappointed that we won't have as much creativity as FO4, just with decorating. That might be enough to make it fun. We'll see. Still buying it.😊
Funny you should make this video because when you said you were thinking of doing builds in Starfield I wondered what options there was. Now I am looking forward to playing the game and watching your videos.
This would be further down the road but would be cool to find like a holiday destination planet, plenty of beaches nice weather and build a holiday town and make money that way
