@@adamlowe8677 I picked the fleet because it’s the easiest way to offload contraband and the ship upgrades are nice. Both of them have side missions after wards but nothing as involved as the main mission

Speak to moara after you side with the fleet. She will give you a captains outfit and a room. You can find her at the same spot as Delgado after you talk to her in the nova

The key here is to already have Sarah in the commitment relation with your character so she can't leave you when you side with the Crimson Fleet 👌

@@ScreaminMime In my playthrough she died wheile I was trying to save Eklund at the lodge. I'd been given the choice to go and save her, which I of course chose to do. But before I got a chance to leave and go save her, Eklund - I know it's not his name, but right now I just can't remember the name, I think it's Walter - was taken hostage by someone who attacked us in the lodge, so obviously I had to at least try and save him first. But when I arrived at the other place to save Sarah, she was already dead. So the game made the choice for me, but the normal thing is that YOU get to make the choice. Guess it just screwed things up in my game.

I love The Key. It has everything I need all in one place. Smuggling mission are quick, easy, and pay decent. Definitely don’t want to lose access to that.

Ok, I freely admit that I am a huge nerd. So now that that is out of the way….So my character married Sam Coe and I intentionally left him behind on all of the sysdef/crimson fleet missions. I ended up siding with CF because everyone said the rewards were better. And besides, I had way more interaction with CF. Essentially helping them reach their goals, doing them favors, stuff like that. Even though none of them were overly friendly, at the end of it they trusted and relied on my character. There was none of that with sysdef. Not to mention, they threw in all that stuff about the commander basically admitting that he was just out for revenge because CF killed his father. So it was torn, but I just couldn’t betray the pirates. I knew none of the companions would be ok with that. I assumed that if I did them solo then no one in Constellation would be aware of anything I did. WRONG! 😭😭😭😭😭 I just got back to the Lodge, interacted with Sam, and he just ripped me a new asshole and ended it by saying he can’t even look at me right now. He shamed me. I don’t even want to talk to anyone else, I know what I’m gonna get if I do. But what shames me the most is the fact that these are video fucking game characters , and I am still this invested in their feelings toward my character. A character, may I add, that does not even talk. My day just got kinds shitty on a few levels. In conclusion, don’t assume Constellation will not be wise to what you do just because they are not with you at the time. I’m going to go cry video game tears now because I’m super bummed out

I loved this mission. I killed ppl in 2 missions and got kicked from the UC so I had no choice but to side with the fleet. Tbh that was a good choice as the key is amazing for selling gear and contraband

I was going to double cross the fleet even though i wanted to have a pirate save but during the ComSpike test pilot mission i may have unalived ~100-150 Civilian Technicians Which made Ikande furious at me and he threw me in jail and i got the message “ THE UC SYSDEF IS NOW YOUR ENEMY” so yeah💀

I was able to stealth through all the missions but I did shoot the cleaning robots and I ended up getting thrown into jail so I sided with the pirates. Only shot the droids so it'd get rid of the detected when stealthing so i could see if I was visible.

Sooo I'm at the crossroads where I have to make a decision. I guess this is a REALLY dumb question but like does SysDef being my enemy mean I can literally NEVER go to New Atlantis again without being attacked? How do I complete the Constellation quests etc etc?

Thank you for the guide. Good information. :) While you're doing the questline, before you choose side, there are several times where you have the option of turning in evidence - evidence that often means somebody in the Crimson Fleet is taken out of the game because the UC is putting them in prison, or killing them. Do you loose out on stuff by turning in the evidence? And what happens if you don't turn in any evidence? Apart from not getting a few credits when you do?

Would be awesome if OP knows, or if someone else could test it. But could you side with Crimson Fleet. Take Down UC. Then go back to the Crimson Fleet and kill Delgado for his Tempest Weapon & Outfit?

Honestly it's a much better option to side with uc when you think of it cause annoying as it is you get a bounty anytime you attack a friendly ship anywhere in the star system if there was a way to stop that I probably woulda gone pirate in the end but Bethesda wants me to be good guy to do just about anything in the game 😪

If you have enough ammo you can just force the game to reset npc's so you can keep questing. Works for me on Neon. Bounty is over 300,000. Just have to keep shooting everybody until they give up.

You also can get a Captain's Quarters on the Key which is a room you can decorate. You Also get the Pirate Captain's outfit and i found a few variations of it on the ahelf next to my room on the Key. Talk to Naeva after talking to Delgado after defeating UC SysDef then you can get the room.

I told Sysdef to suck space when they first abducted me so there really was no choice further down the line on who to side with. That said, there are two unique pieces of ship equipment (I'm blanking on their names but they add bonuses to shields) that are only sold by the ship dealer on the Key after doing that one quest where you steal the prototype ship.

Your affiliation with CF doesn't affect your standing with UC Vanguard, there is practically no threat if you double cross UC SysDef.

Are there no other penalties when joining the Crimson Fleet? Can I still land on planets controlled by the UC, let's say New Atlantis?

The core gameplay assumes that you're not a pirate. Right now I have played the deep cover mission right up to the last mission, but I have stopped there, so I remain on good graces with both the UC and the pirates. What I noticed is that pirates now don't attack me, even in dungeons across the game. There are also other parts of the game that are set up for pirates to attack me, but they don't anymore. I can still kill them, but now I have to make sure that I kill them all so there are no witnesses. So I imagine, that the game is intended for you to side with the UC, so it doesn't break the lore of the game

No one mentions this, but a benefit of siding with CF is you can loot any pirate-infested procedural locations on planets without having to fight anyone. So it is basically infinite free loot, since you can setup a base nearby and go back after they all respawn. Even pickpocket all their guns lol. Hey they can't be too mad-they're pirates!

you can still steal the weapon and get all those thing on uc side but not Delgado stuff on the other. red mile you can still buy the shielded stuff just not get the unique weapons so get those before you decide

You're kind of part of sysdef i would assume since they give the player the formal outfit. What i really want is a sysdef store where i can the blue sysdef assault armor (w helmet and pack) and perhaps additional outfits for my ship crew.

I was doing fine with the UC sydef then it got to the mission on Neon and I was spotted and I just ran trough the whole thing without equipping my weapon then when I reported back to sysdef they placed me under arrest for firing on civilians so I was forced to side with Crimson and wasn't able to return to my old quicksave shame how this turned out for me because I loved the sysdef

Good question. I am in a similar spot and wasn’t able to find a lot of information. I did find one tutorial that claimed that once you refuse Ikande you lock that side of the quest 😢

So I went ahead and the first thing I did in this game was steal the Wakizashi Katana from the Syndicate, but right when I went to do the second mainline game mission where you have to travel to Mars, this dude stops me and tries to get me to help SysDef, I refused and now my Katana is gone, anyone knows how to get it back or is it lost forever?

Missed out on the outfit and weapon? I persuaded him to turn off the self destruct and they surrendered. Never got to finish him off and take the weapon.

@@brandonquist8394 yeah they just surrender. You can visit the ship again later and you'll find them in the brig. And they'll talk to you. No weapon though. Looked around the ship everywhere. Oh well :)

@@FrozzenAxe The outfit is not unique, don't know how i got it but i have the dude's outfit. Found out delgado's outfit was obtainable if you sided with Sysdef. But since bethesda has bugs.. there was a door that suddenly locked and no matter what savegame i ran back to. The door was locked. Should have been open. So i became the monster i hated and used console commands. At that point i was like "fuck it" and console commanded Delgado's outfit and gave it to one of my companions who now happily walks around wearing that in my cantina outpost. Did know the Sysdef leader had a unique weapon aswel. But roleplay wise, it's good knowing we have both of them in the brig. Doing the Vanguard questline AFTER you sided with the fleet brings great dialogue options to it aswel. I don't play as a loose cannon pirate but i only act like one when i know there will be no witnesses or the loot is going to be bigger than the bounty. (Wich i pay off in my faction free system outpost) Choosing the fleet is the most rewarding. I stand by my words; Fleet4life

You have to finish the main story for the crimson fleet in order to actually kill Ikande and loot him as well as the lieutenant.

i completed the kryx legacy quest at level 40 , now i am level 85 and still carry the kryx legacy galbank credit box with me , i am an enemy of the pirates and sysdef . i cannot board the key because delgado wants me to fight sysdef and i can't talk to sysdef because they still treat me as a pirate and i can't cash in the credit box anywhere or give it to anyone or even just drop it .

I just sided with the fleet because I didn't like the UC's Jail Or Our Way tactic. After I Ascended I tried the MAST quest line [HIGHLY RECOMMENDED] and hooked up with the UC the honorably way... I might STILL side with the fleet, they have all their shops in one spot!

You can sell contraband an the vendors are a bit on cash, plus every time you enter on their solar system you don't get scanned, but you can still buy some mods on the red mile👍🏼

@@zackfair6791 well tbf I think delgato ceases to exist within the conventional game space after you finish the final mission for whoever you side with (he's actually in an inaccessible room that can only be accessed with console commands). but yeah... essentially disappears

You can enter any UC systems Just fine, Sysdef are more spread out and will fire at you when they see you. different factions basically

I side with the UC this time and in next game plus, i might side with the crimson fleet! The only thing I hate is the bounty when killing pirates as you explore the same bases for loot and legendaries! It seems spacers, ecliptic mercenaries, va’ ruun are less abundant! Crimson pirates are more plentiful! I’m getting tired of killing crimson pirates in secret infront of other pirates as long I am hidden… I lost at least 100,000 to credits because of bounties

Nope. But honestly it doesnt matter, the weapon itself only has a unique pirate paintjob, nothing else about it is unique its also not leveled, so it will become useless in a few levels anyway. Its completely useless by the time I acquired it, not worth using because I can get a non legendary version that does magnitudes more damage. So dont feel so bad for missing it amigo.

So apparently if ylu turn in all 20 evidence to the sysdef you also get a legendary weapon, also with crimson fleet you get the option to have mathias as a companion.

I’ve chosen to simply not complete the final quest. That way I’m friendly with both factions. I will still have access to most of the legendary weapons and honestly I have far better legendary weapons already in my inventory so I’m not worried about it. Maybe after I’ve completed most of the game I’ll make a decision.

Concerning the Ragana, that made no sense. Characters like Bandit (from R6 Siege) had to kill while undercover; in the end, they weren't admonished for it, cause they brought down a threat. Ikande claims the CF is a serious threat (probably more of a threat than terrormorphs,) and orders you to infiltrate them. The moment he gets mad at me for doing what he asked, is the moment I decided to join the CF.

Lol I tried stealth as well during the mission to steal the comspike, but they saw me. I just ran for it and arrived with Bayu's brother. I immediately spoke to him and that saved me from the guards. I went back to the Vigilance expecting a yelling from Ikande but since I technically didn't kill anyone, he didn't mention anything about it.

And to get Sarah's or Andreja's they have to die? That's just dumb game design. Hey, make them friends and than let them die to get their outfit. Really hope we're getting mods on Xbox too. It's even worse that you lose all outfits in NG+.
