Yes, i'm aware that the show pronounces it "BILL-ISK-NEAR". But as far as I can tell the correct pronunciation of the term from Norse Mythology is "BILL-SKER-NEAR".

Personally I love the Nox and I'm glad that they're pacifists because let's be honest that is the only reason they're still around otherwise the dumbass writers of the show would have wiped them out because they wouldn't want them to do anything to overshadow the humans of Earth every powerful race in the show that descent or amazing are generally killed off not so they don't overshadow the humans of Earth the Asgard the Tollens and definitely the Alterans. If they're good guys and are more advanced and powerful than the Tau'ri they won't be around for long or simply be written out of the show do you want to hear about them again.

What sets apart Asgard from all others is that it is THEIR tech. 99% of other faction in Stargate use watered down/passed over Ancient tech. Goa'uld, Asurans, Wraith, Ori. And all their splinters. And funnily enough, the story of the series was developing in the direction that terrans would use Asgard tech over Ancient one too thus refusing to follow the path set for them artificially.

You do realize that the greatest technological Marvel that the Tau'ri have is Alteran/Lantean technology right? And it's this wonderful City ship called Atlantis. Not to mention that the Asgard and the Ancients have been allies for thousands if not millions of years I'm quite sure that all four of them use aspects of each other's technology. But you're right the humans of Earth will be mostly using asgar technology because it's easier for them to get access to it's been purposefully dumb down by the Asgard so they can make use of it well some of it because the more they learn the more they'll have access to. Lantean technology on the other hand has not been dumbed down for them and they don't have an instruction manual ready for them not to mention even if it did they still wouldn't be able to understand it this technology is tens of millions of years more advanced than anything that have humans don't even have the science to comprehend this stuff so they are not supposed to be able to understand any of it. Then and again to be honest the whole concept of the Asgard entrusting all their knowledge and Technology to the humans of Earth don't even make any sense the other guys should know plenty of other more where is a species not to mention there's are aware that the knocks are still around it would make sense if they gave their knowledge and Technology to The Noxs because they can actually understand and make proper use of it unlike humans who you just want to blow s*** up and inevitably try to conquer others. Then again it made no conceivable sense to me that the Asgard didn't just go to the Nox and ask them for help I'm one hundred percent sure that the Nox has the technology and abilities to save their species. And even if then didn't the Nox and Asgard working together would have found a solution in absolutely no time. Man I love the series I really do but good gods those idiot writers ruined so much if it.

@@damianallen8377 I get what you mean, but remember that stargates aside, the weapon aspects (which is what was mainly needed throughout the series) of the ancients usually required ZPMs to functions and left very little instructions on how to build them. A fully stocked Atlantis is an opponent not even Ori motherships would stand a chance against, but because of lack of self production facilities, or proper instructions on how to make, the city currently lacks a ready arsenal or capacity to defend itself in a long term battle. Asgardian technology is powerful, reliable, and has been left with clear instructions on how to replicate. Best of all it, as far as I know, requires naquadah, which is readily available on the milky way.

It wasn't hearthbreaking it was the dumbest plot hole ever devised - basically a lazy ending to a story arc. They could have easly translated themselves into computers and then moved on as purely mechanical civilization at least until they "solved the problem" - Thor demonstrated that Asgard mind can do it even in primitive in comparison Gouauld Hatak Computer system. And Asgardians were already adept at loading/downloading conciousness from computer banks to clones and vice versa. There was no reason (sensible) to commit suicide on a planetary scale. "Asgard Core system" was a prime example that they could do it already.
@Swiftbow
@Swiftbow 4 года назад

@krzosu
@krzosu 4 года назад
@@Swiftbow Well Thor didnt ejoy it because he was basically tortured and had his mind ripped out of his brain against his will. So that was extreme circumstance (when he took over Anubis ship). On one occasion they have shown that they can carry their minds on board of ships and machines - when their new colony was assaulted by replicators (aka by 5-th) so they could do it both easly and safely. Dont get me wrong i bet that had some downsides to it too - but if you either had to genocide your people or make them live in machines i would prefer the machine one - at least that would give them some chances to survive and work on the problem.
@Swiftbow
@Swiftbow 4 года назад
@@krzosu I tend to agree, but I think part of the point was that their society had become stagnant and their zest for life had faded. Probably largely because they were immortal beings in bodies that had successively become less and less capable as time went on. They had no children, they had individually lived for thousands of years and had exhausted life's experiences. Death was something they had feared, like the Ancients. But unlike the Ancients, they elected to finally face death, rather than continue to cheat it.

Well, the idea is that everything is happening while most Earth humans are unaware. In Universe, you have a Space Cold War between Earth and the Lucian Alliance, but only a tiny percentage of Earthlings know about it. In the XSGCOM fanfic, Earth accidentally becomes an interstellar empire, when the System Lords casually accept Weir’s outrageous demand for ownership of everything within 100 light years of Earth (she thought they’d say no). Earth leaders collectively facepalm, but gotta stick by your guns, can’t back down. They end up more as benevolent protestors, showing up to tell the primitives that the Goa’uld won’t be bothering them anymore and offering to help.

Would you please consider doing a breakdown of the X-tornado from the Sonic X series? it may not have been originally designed to operate in space but in season three it was modified so it could do so. I'm actually not completely sure if the X-tornado that we see in season three is the exact same one that we see in seasons one and two perhaps you can shine some light on subject.

I fear what would happen to anyone that challenges the Tau'ri now that they basically have access to the entire technological catalog of both the Asgard and the Ancients (Lantean and Alterans via Atlantis, Antarctica outpost and possibly Destiny).

Never understood how the explosive suppression technology still allowed firearms to operate without issue. Since bullets are propelled by essentially a shaped charge they shouldn't work any more than a grenade.

Something akin to how Halon douses a fire by interfering with the electron activity that releases energy during combustion. Halon 'poisons' a fire rather than cools or buries it.

I love the asgard go-away beams. I mean they would totally win wars against most fictional armies. Just send one ship and it will totally delete them from existence. Rather they have faith in the emperor or super powers is irrelevant.
@dariustiapula

@Sagrotan Unfortunately I wouldn't trust 40k teleportation at all. Since its basically just shunt you to warp and back. You know the warp with demons and all. Compare to, hell compared to most fictional teleporters. Stargate are the safest ones ever.
