Honestly this is the most unresolved disappointing love story I've ever seen. I love stargate and the will they won't they between these characters over the years but the writers refused to give us a proper ending with them! I think there must've been disputes between the writers where some wanted to have them finally be a couple and some that did not and they ended up with the weird compromise we got which ultimately left it up to our imaginations. I always feel empty over the years when I've rewatched the series.
There was supposed to be a movie where it would be confirmed they got together, but the movie got dropped. But we have a new hope now, when Amazon bought MGM and the creator of Stargate SG-1 was working on a new story for some time
I've always felt the last scene should have been Harriman coming up and saying to Carter something to the effect "Colonel, phone call line 3. It's Jack." And leave the audience saying "O'neill?"
Omg, why didn't they ever just let her say that! Always attempting, but always interrupted or cut. I know it's obvious how they feel about each other, but I wanted to hear the actual "I love you" from both Sam and Jack
Yes and jack was later frozen in a stasis pod similar to Han being frozen in carbonite. And the battle over Antarctica was an homage to empire strikes back and the battle of Hoth. They should’ve named this episode the Goa’uld Strikes Back.
The way he dismissed her confession with an "i know" & silence then back to whatever he was doing like it was nothing.. was SUCH A BAD WRITING of this scene.. like it wasn't him in season 4 who said he cares about her more than he's supposed to, or that he'd rather die than lose her.. Now she's about to say out loud she loves him, yet he's dismissing like it's a banal thing then goes about his day without mentioning it again.
They got together in other timelines/universes. Jack boinked her when him and teal'c had the day repeat thing going. They boinked in the jumper that one time when they got the zpm. They had tok'ra lie detectors prove they loved each other. I'm happy with all those. :)
I always liked stargate SG1 but recently ordered the box set and will have next week so I have a binge session coming up . I thought Atlantis and universe were good in their own right.
