@@Tembel_Kopek that's not entirely true as to why it failed, MGM was pretty much going through an bankruptcy which was the cause of it's ultimate demise, although i will admit the show's audience wasn't what many of the previous fans had in mind to be the next stargate series. i personally liked SGU, however i did get annoyed by how much internal conflict existed between the factions even if it fit the circumstances going on, they eventually put aside their personal conflicts of each other and came together for the greater good of the crew. other than these conflicts that ended up outlasting the audience, the show was pretty good. but even if the show was good and everyone praised it, this show would have still gotten canceled due to the bankruptcy of MGM.

@@5226-p1e SGU had a good concept but it was very poorly executed. It utilized way too much shaky cam, the characters were absolutely not likeable, there were too many "important" persons on the ship (bloated cast), too much time spent on earth politics, too much time spent with nonsense lovestories no one cared about. Season 1 was an absolute disaster, Season 2 on the other hand began to slowly make up for it, but it was too late since most of the audience already stopped watching it.

@@WaterspoutsOfTheDeep oh yes.....im happy that they dont want to let it just die......but still, im afraid that it is gonna be really tough to bring a show that will be at the same (or atleast similar) level as others. But we will not know.....and ill happilly enjoy everything from my favorite universe XD

Same, except I watched every episode and movie through my entire 8th grade year, SG1 - SGU

I hope the other side comes someday...This TV show ended on a huge cliffhanger, and it tore me how Destiny just sailed away into oblivion!

as everyone in the ship goes to their cryo pods. eli uses the stones once again....and gets in contact with sam carter, she comes up with a plan that could help save destiny and return the crew home. the idea sam had involved setting off a charge of an concentrated explosive while the ship was in FTL. sam mentions that this idea came to her when SG1 had to blow up a sun. but discovered by mistake while in hyperspace and the blast of the sun, caused the ship to accelerate 100,000 times faster than the top speed of the ship they were in. and told eli that the same concept could be introduced during FTL for destiny. and it was up to eli to figure out the mathematics required for this to work. eli with this knowledge, comes into contact with McKay on earth that could help him figure out how to make such an explosive with the materials destiny had on hand. eli finds he cannot do this by himself.. so he opens a few cryo pods and let's the crew he let out know of his idea...but asked them if it was ok for the earth scientists to use their bodies to make this plan work without a hitch.

+Wilko Stomberg i love how the static gives this some emphasis. to me i love how its within all the tracks of the show. every time they would enter into FTL and show the ship from the outside. you would hear a Myst or a static. as if the ship was gliding through the stars. it puts me through an endless peaceful trance. of course i end up listening over and over.

@@SargeRho Yeah, little seeds of something much bigger were sprinkled throughout the series... hell, the mission of destiny wouldve been one of the most groundbreaking things we wouldve seen in stargate had it continued.

Sea Drive I really hate when some art/masterpiece is canceled and scraped like SGU and Firefly. Firefly had a great potential but didn’t make it for all the wrong reasons. I blame SyFy and Fox the most because they are the ones who cancel great work and replay shits as Fox tried many times with Futurama and now Lucifer and SyFy mostly for SGU and now The Expanse. They lost a lot of money because of that and I enjoy how they must have felt when somebody else picked their shows and made it succesfull

@@hootsifer-darling exactly, I want the age of sci-fi back or better, start a new age of sci-fi, where new shows and new ideas come into play. Nowadays, sci-fi is the same. The Expanse brought great story with new, interesting and amazing worldbuilding, design and characters and everybody is trying to copy that but without the key elements they need. Where is the goofy sci-fi like Stargate? So many people say its outdated but in reality, the fans of the show (even the ones that just saw some episodes of sg1 and thats it) agree, that stargate was a good show. Why does nobody want something like stargate anymore? I am just saying #bringstargateback

firefly suffered the same fate

The first season of SGU contained unnecessarily a lot of drama, romance, etc. It failed because it focused mainly in drama, instead on the gold mine of the mythology of the Ancients and connecting SG1 and SGA in a coherent manner. Even I, a hardcore sci fi stargate fan, avoid some episodes and skip forward in the DVD for rewatching.

At least 22 times in a row. Maybe I'll set it to 38 times, stargate time limit ha ha.
