So let me get this straight Galen whooped a prime suited up Vader then spared him to save kota. Then went on to fight and defeat palpatine in combat and spared him only because kota begged him to. Then died for it. If kota wouldn’t have foolishly interfered Vader and Palpatine would both be dead and the empire would be destroyed. Thanks Kota.😑
Palpatine was actually stronger and just faking it, in the other ending (the one were you kill Vader) he explains that starkiller had great potential and could become his equal but things didn't go as planned. Even in this ending you see how palpatin tanked the explosion while galen died
1 Vader isn’t at his prime during this game, in old Canon Vader lost his power his power he as Anakin and had to grind back to that power which he didn’t reach back and surpass it till around New Hope which both game take place Years before that movie which the Second game novel and guides show Vader is actually beating Starkiller with little effort and holding back, only losing thx to the light rods powering up Starkiller and abusing his life support. Galen would stand no chance to a Return of the Jedi Vader which where he at strongest and was on Par with Sidious 2 Sidious is clearly holding back, good ending Galen note it a trick and that he more stronger then he letting himself appear, making it clear he. Was holding back in this fight and Bad ending Sidious is shown easily Beating Galen with ease and even guidebook confirms Galen never actually stood a chance to him. Kota interring wouldn’t have changed nothing, Sidious was clearly just temping Galen so he would given into the Darkside, the man was never in any real danger

I never understood why at 6:54 Vader didn’t strike palpatine. Starkillers whole point from Vader’s point of view was to overthrow the Emperor, he had him distracted and his back turned on vader, it would’ve been the perfect opportunity. Also that look on Palpatine’s face at 7:52 really shows how disgusted he is with the idea of keeping old vader around. He almost looks as if he’s about to say something but knows Vader’s emotional so he doesn’t.
Palpatine knew about Starkiller the entire time. Vader *never* kept Starkiller a secret from Palpatine, he just let Starkiller think that they were going to kill Palpatine. As for why Vader didn't kill Palpatine, he may have been unsure that he could keep the Empire under control without the official Emperor or he may have been afraid that Palpatine would sense it and somehow be able to injure him without breaking his attention away from Starkiller. He is the only man in the galaxy Vader fears for a reason.
vader was probably worried if he took out sidious he wouldnt be able to beat starkiller, especially since he just lost to him and was badly injured to boot. plus hes weak to lightning, so if he killed palpatine the lightning from the two would definitely kill him, again especially since he was injured. i mean just look at rotj, and he wasnt nearly as injured there and it wasnt nearly as much lightning since it was only sidious and not doubled with starkiller
@@realjoemavro Good assessment. There's no way to be certain Palpatine doesn't somehow sense the attack. It'd also be showing Vader's hand far too early.
Vader has no reason or motivation at the moment, he weak and injured obviously can’t go Round 2 with Starkiller and would lose and thus the Empire is over. Obvious fear of Sidious since he know in 2v1 they still lose badly as Sidious isn’t even trying and holding back the whole time in this fight, along with no real connection to Starkiller like he had with Luke who was his Son and who kept begging him to turn back to light side

And official material even confirm Starkiller never stood a chance against him. So yeah Palpatine was clearly just trying to lure him back to the Darkside to have him as a pawn, he if really wanted like in the bad ending he could easily defeat and kill him with little effort
Ironic that Force lightning is kryptonite to Vader because fighting Vader in phase 2 was actually more difficult than fighting sidious and Force lightning does minimal damage to Vader. Not to mention the fact that Vader doesn't summon living medipacks for you to kill.
This game was SO awesome and I'm so upset the EU is no longer canon. Most dope scene, was when Kota rushes the Emperor and uses the force to yank Palpatine's lightsabre out of his sleeve- since he could sense it was there. We knew the lightsabre was there since we saw Palpatine draw it from his sleeve in Revenge of the Sith, so having that little detail there was epic. Sure, he got fried by Sith Lightning straight away, but that was still a great effort.
@NameyNameName Yes, with good reason. Galen didn't start the rebellion, but he did encourage them to take action as a united group. He's a hell of a lot better and believable than 2017 feminist strong woman icon who everyone loves and accepts instantly, despite being a novice at everything, immediately becoming better than the best jedi, the best pilot, and the best soldier in the span of a couple days and then female Jesus after a year, who manages to defeat God Palpatine with the power of every jedi and the x chromosome lightsaber crucifix blocking his galactic fleet destroying sith lightning and vaporising him with it.
Honestly who ever designed the sound for Vader's broken breathing apparatus is a genius. It just sounds like what I'd expect it to sound like ... Pretty sure this is the only Star Wars Game / Film that has that.. Edit: Never realised this sound design was used in previous films / games as I haven't watched / played all that the StarWars farnchise has to offer. Still a masterwork of sound design regardless ✌🏿. Ya learn more everyday 😂.
You’re leaving out the scene in Episode 6 after vader kills Palpatine. I agree with you though that it sounds exactly what it should sound like, but I’m not surprised, Star Wars is known for having the best sound effects.
The reason why Galen was able to hold up with Sidious is because right before exploding, he became one with the force. And if im not wrong, he's using tutaminis to hold the lightning. That means he is also absorbing Sidious lightning. He basically used all that energy in a single suicide move to save his friends. But that barely harmed the emperor. Galen could've been stronger than palpatine but at this point he wasn't. And he never did.
The Emperor could have easily overpowered Starkiller in this fight instead he chose to let him believe he had a chance of winning before crushing him. Classic Palpatine.
He didn't crush him. If he could he would have. Why would he let the rebel leaders escape? Starkiller held him off, and he didn't struggle as Yoda did by the looks of it. There was no strain in his eyes like Yoda when he blocked the lightning. Palpatine even stated in the dark side ending that Starkiller had 'such promise. You could have been my sucessor... my equal." Judging by the fact that he didn't seem strained when holding off the lightning he was Palpatines equal.

I would more say that with proper training, Starkiller had the potential to rival Palpatine, but Palpatine has more experience and power. So he was still slightly stronger.
@@samdickenson5852 With all due respect, I disagree. When Sidious attacked for real, Starkiller could only HOLD him back, not defeat him (otherwise he would’ve so he could escape to). Finally, when Starkiller closed in on Sidious, you could hear the pain as he screamed “no”. I say Sidious was above him and Vader (obviously)
Fun fact: Dave Filoni reconsidered to re-canonize Starkiller by making him an Inquisitor in Rebels with a slightly modified backstory, but didn't pan out.
His story is dogshit. Owning Vader and Palpatine like they're bitches and basically takes a shit on all of Star Wars lore. This is even worse than Mary Sue Sequels.
There’s a risk tho like if the host is able to resist or repel the possession then the Sith spirit will be sent to the void and those who are too consumed in the Dark Side will have a weak and old body in just a few mins
I know that its not canon etc but game deserves for 3rd part. It was the masterpiece , also even with that game we have very small amount of SW games that are lighsaber focused. I hope that fallen order sequel will be as good as first part or even better
When i played this 15 years ago it reminded me of the end of Return of the Jedi. Quite similar with the death star half complete and Darth Vader's suit half destroyed
The game is very enjoyable but it just doesn't make sense for it to be canon. To me it just diminishes Luke's story when Starkiller could have done what Luke did and is so much more powerful than him.

And they got beat by Starkiller cuz the game devs wanted to make some overrated/overpowered character in the game for fun reasons. Also the novel is Legends now. Plus a lot of the stuff that used to be canon is EU or Legends.
Palpatine is the best movie villain because on top of being full of pride and self-confidence, he is also extremely patient and aware of his standings. He has no problem aknowledging a threat no matter how small it may be, a threat that other more pompous villians would disregard due to an inflated ego.
Everyone says "Starkiller is too powerful" but, come on, trained by Vader since chilhood to actually take down the Emperor. Let's not forget that Palpatine was really busted in Legends, canon Palpatine WISH he could be THAT powerful.
Not to mention the people who bash Galen for supposedly being overpowered totally support Disney for the creation of their Mary Sue. Hypocrites is what they are. Rey is the definition of overpowered. 🙄

The game was really good but kota annoyed me in this scene so much. He literally charges palpatine intending to kill him obviously not caring about killing being a step into the dark side but when palpatine is at starkiller’s mercy, they can end the empire and the sith for good he’s like no if you kill him you go into the dark side. The Jedi of the clone wars were so inconsistent with this they literally were neck-deep in the blood of others during the clone wars but they never turned. Like honestly how hard would it be to teach their students that falling to the dark side isn’t the result of an action or circumstances out of their control but a personal choice? Honestly a part of me is glad order 66 worked and they were eradicated.
And that Disney Mary Sue Rey ends up striking down Disney palpatine with a dark side and ends up not falling to the dark side by simply refusing. Completely delegitimatizing the force philosophy that's striking down in anger will set you want a path to the dark side. 🙄
Something I noticed while rewatching this is that these rebel leaders now know that Palpatine is force sensitive and is a Sith Lord. I am not too sure about Legends, but in Canon Palpatine wanted as few people as possible to know that.

In the game's canon, he was op. But, the novelisation version of TFU definitely scales him better, as it doesn't need to be as fun as the game, which was designed to be a power trip.

I cant understand Sidious. Starkiller most likely attacked him because he attacked Kota if Sidious only pushed Kota away or not let im interfere Starkiller would probably go for Vader and wouldn't betray him the next second after the fight. Sidious didn't kill Padme to convince Anakin so why he thought it would be a good idea in this case? Would it not be the smartest to let Starkiller become a Sith Lord and after that let him kill his friends?
Watch the dark side ending and you will see that sidious was clearly only pretending to be defeated. Disney created characters that are far more overpowered than Galen Marak.

Just change this. have him be a inquisitor but vaders personal favourite, still his secret aprentice. then change the meeting of shak ti to ahsoka (but no death) to show him the truth about their shared master and how he will betray him. Then force unleashed story carrys on the same leading to starkillers death and the birth of the alliance.
