@@Akabans999 It's a single player game, and since it's not on steam, there's no metrics about the active player base. The modding forum and reddit seem pretty active.

And remember it was after Sseth gave us his CD key, meaning that anyone could just have downloaded the game and played for free.

I’d say it’s more like X series, elite dangerous is more simulation oriented. My only criticism for X4 is it’s performance, good graphic comes at a cost, which this game doesn’t have to pay, making it a good alternative.

Agreed, as soon as the game comes to steam, I'm buying it for full price. It's worth at LEAST that.

it's so good. Seriously even if you can't afford it, Sseth CD key is still active (and likely will be forever). I highly recommend anyone play it as its so feature rich and has such an amazing dev team and mod community.

This reply is more for people that come after: The 'produces X number of Y goods' is not a total supply in raw numbers, as in, can now supply two words that demands 4 if you have 9 in supply and have 1 spare... the 'has X for Y type of goods' mean you can supply ANY WORLD THAT DEMANDS UP TO 9 ITEMS OF THAT TYPE. I you want to keep your internal economy strong and your foundries demand 6x ore income to keep churning out refined materials, you only need 1 mining colony that provides 6x Ores, or more... and if a foreign colony needs 8x or whatever and you meet that supply, you could export to them that number. That's why the sooner you get a very lucrative colony to make a massive load of anything, all the big powers start getting jelly because you are such a good supplier.

How demanding can it be? I've never had issues. Or is your PC just a potato hooked up to a calculator?

One more thing regarding AI grades. A Gamma-grade AI... it's super fucking good, but still essentially just a calculator. This is the sort of thing it might be reasonable to have manage a port or a logistical network. Beta-grade AI are made with the degree of flexibility you might consider it reasonable to apply to a warship, or a research facility. It can self-adjust with ease, but it can't fundamentally change its method of operation or its task & purpose. Alpha grade AI are complex enough to be fully sapient. This is why they are effective, and also why they are terrifying. The old saw went; a person who can think and feel, in the moment they're needed, might hesitate or flinch or freeze up or double-guess themselves. A drone has no mind to think - no will to break. Regarding drones, as soon as target lock is acquired there's nothing preventing a weapon release other than physics, programming and calculus. An Alpha Core is not limited by anything listed here, and is by design and function an order of magnitude greater than how well organic brains are able to think.
