I think I probably spent a disproportionate amount of time on the Dies Irae scene, versus all the others for the upcoming Harabec video. But it's fine, because I now have a shorter video to upload that might appease the algorithm.

I'd kill for a faithful modern remake of Starsiege 😔 One of my all time favourite games.

Likewise, however i don't think it'll ever happen, especially since SS2845 was tried and failed. With how easy modern engine tools are to use (ue4 etc), might be possible with a reasonable amount of difficulty. But the number of people like you and I are dwindling. Even fewer of have the knowledge/time to make something like that

@@Dilo22 Homeworld got a Remaster and that was a Sierra game, heck Gearbox is even making Homeworld 3 now. With the amount of lawsuits Piranha Games got from Harmony Gold and yet kept MWO up and running if there was some push for Gearbox to grab the Metaltech Earthsiege franchise they could actually make Starsiege blow MW5 out of the water. I'll take an HBC over an AC20 any day.

Shout out to the 3-Space Studio/Open-Siege tool that allows for the extraction of the Starsiege models into a format that can be recognized by most 3D software. I simply would not have been able to give my upcoming Harabec video the Kuun-Lan treatment without it. github.com/open-siege/open-siege

OH my god. Starsiege!? I bought the boxed edition when i was a kid not even knowing what it was. I was just engrossed with anything mecha at the time. The controls were difficult at first and I didn't even know that you can summon artillery strikes in one or two of the missions. While the graphics didn't age well, it was definitely a game of its time. Played the hell out of it and quit during the last boss battle, then i came back a year later and kicked its metallic ass. Phoenix was definitely somewhat reminiscent of Jim Raynor of Starcraft and his big bro, (the guy in the red mech) was pretty cool. First it was a story of a worker uprising then it became a story of an alien invasion. So much nostalgia.

Starsiege is the reason I bought my first PC back in 1999. I was a predator tank player.

I never got to play Starsiege all the way through, but I played the hell out of Earthsiege 1 and 2. Wish the franchise would have kept going, IMO it was the only sort of big stompy robot stuff that could compete with BattleTech. Had it's own great lore, way of doing things, loved it. Good stuff BTW, thank you!

gotta say been playing this and god the music gets me so FUCKING PUMPED when I gun the throttle and start spraying plasma at anything that so happens to look even slightly more advanced then a IBN 5100

Dies Ireae should have been a longer mission, wave after wave of endless cybrids. It always felt short to me.

The Titan section really could have been expanded upon in general, I always believed. Maybe a good defense mission of the Alliance base in Eskandani Chasm could've really honed in the hopeless nature of the war before the "Ticket to Ride" mission came into play.
