I'm 65 years old, a former competitive gymnast and yoga practitioner for 24 years. I can say from my experience that this video contains more information than most people normally obtain after decades of trial and error. Spot on!
It's never too late to start. I'm 63, had two silent strokes and have polyneuropathy in my feet. I started training 5 months ago. It builds you up and increases your self-esteem.
Dood. I'm a yoga teacher for almost 29 years and you are the only other instructor who teaches what I teach. Finally a kindred spirit. If you're ever in LA....
Fantastic information! Please provide a simple home routine for weakling, completely sedentary people so they can get started on making changes, improving their stability and starting healthier habbits.
completely sedentary people would benefit from simply walking 30 min three times a week. If you cant start there you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
@@rosanaquevedo6554 There are no wrong reasons. Get off your high horse. Plenty of people start out in the gym without going on walks. Even morbidly obese people have started out in the gym and got amazing results. Such gatekeeper elitist garbage.
I'm 28 years old and I've never been attracted to gyms and lifting weights as everyone else. I'm so glad I discovered this channel. It really gives me motivation and to pursue what's really good for me and my body. All this core strenght is very interesting. That's something I'm more interested in instead of just getting shredded just for appearances. Being able to control my body like that would be so satisfying. It's never too late and I'm glad I'm still able to get the type of body that suits me best!
This was what I was looking for! Thank you for showing all the basics to get started! You were very straight forward in explaining. I've been getting tired of crowed gym. This would help me exercise on my own at home without much equipment. I'm subscribed and looking forward to learn more from you!
I have just watched a video about building strength using 3 to 5 reps max of heavyweights. But after giving my self a hiatus hernia years ago with that idea. Actually with slow and more strict movement as you mentioned it is more beneficial and then you are less prone to injury..great video . thanks
I’m a 55 yr old male with severe arthritis in the hips. I’m determined not to get hip replacements so I will try to follow his tips to strengthen core and gain flexibility. Thanks!
One of the best videos I’ve seen on beginning and understanding calisthenics, thank you so much! Going to see if you have any other beginner tutorials. I’m currently working on deep squat, handstand and chin ups but I am 33 and overweight and never done anything like this in my life. Most of the tutorials out there for beginners aren’t really for my type of beginner 😂😅
Wow! You've impressed me! ❤ Thanks for all those tips. I bought a pull up bar but I'm renting so I don't want to do any damage. So you've taught me some ways to just start practicing on the floor and on my sofa. Thank you! ♥️🙏❤️
Something completely unrelated. How great you actually own art! 99% of the videos on RU-vid the backgrounds are empty walls or garbage. Thank you for supporting the arts. It’s another level of aesthetics and intelligence.
Wow! This is how to get the strength and flexibility of my body. Thank you for sharing! It’s an eye opening coaching to me but felt like I have been looking for it for decades.
I like calisthenics, and I am keen on learning it. However, with all due respect to you and all the other RU-vid content creators out there, I am yet to come across ONE calisthenics athlete who has built his/her body ENTIRELY through calisthenics. Not one! Most, if not all of them developed a base by lifting weights in the gym and then switched to calisthenics. This sends a wrong message to your audience. Please be honest about how you started. It is really really hard to believe that you built that physique 100% through calisthenics and have never once stepped a foot in a gym.
Fair scrutiny.. First off, I don't mean to create the illusion that my body is only from calisthenics. I'm an athlete and have been my whole life. For the last 10 years, calisthenics has been my focus but I still regularly run sprints, play sports, plyometrics training, and a variety of other things. In my case, I started with calisthenics as a kid before I knew I was doing it. My dad taught us pushups, we had a pullup bar, heavy bag, and we would always try to do handstands for fun. My first formalized training was for soccer. I didn't start lifting weights until high school for football. And sure it helped develop me as an athlete - can't lie about that. But I personally never got huge from it. It was simply another step in my athletic journey.. I promote calisthenics because out of all the modalities I've been exposed to, this has been my favorite because it's challenging, fun, you get addicted to building body control, it can promote more functional fitness, mobility, and the list goes on and on.
@@adam_fraterbrother, please tell me do you practice no fap? I think it's very important and if no how often you ejaculate??.... please also make video on this topic. And please reply to my question
Some people also have great genes for having a nice athletic or thick muscular look with minimal workouts, my brother through high school never touch weights and would get asked frequently if he lifts, just had that frame, everyone knows there body best, so gotta do what works for you.
1:11 wait that works just triceps? That's exactly what I want to develop the most. I was confused why it seems like my chest was developing more and barely my triceps.
Hi, i'm 70 years old, still in good shape, exercise every day, walks, resistance bands exercises, assisted pull ups, push ups, farmer carry with 35 pounds dumbells, etc. Am I to old to start this type of program?
I like the way you give advice on sneaky stretches whilst watching tv. The tips on 'setting' your back, pulling the lower back in before stretching forward in straddle position or with legs together is so so key. See it done so badly so often. Form is what i aim for now, and this video is great at explaining why it is so important.
First time watching your video, and I thank you kindly for giving me basic education. All too often, plenty of guys are eager to teach, but for those of us who don’t know where to start, it’s overwhelming, and we quickly move on. What I would love to see (maybe you already have contents created in this regard) is some beginner discrete exercise moves, number of reps/duration, frequency, and what to eat to supply the nutritional demand. Greatly appreciated!
Man this video is amazing, had a couple of realization moments like the stretching with the right back position.. Also great channel in general, thank for all the info you share
Love how clear and basic your explanation is to keeping a good form. That’s the start of everything and keeps one from injuring. This beginner thank you! Subscribed!
Thanks for the informative video i admire your level and how you make hand stand and hand push ups look so easy Great control I just canceled my gym subscription because after years of training it didn't get me to my goal although i love gym and i enjoyed training there but i know what i really need is more strength and control combined with light weight and not just big muscles with less mobility
Oh man I wanna be so respectful and not get blocked, but this man is inadvertently being so hyper segsual 😅 Hip thrusts (08:20), "going 6 inches" (11:30). Came for the expertise 💪🏼, stayed for the show 👌🏼
I am aman.Iloveyou.Thanks for Allah I don't practice any gay relationship.I ask Allah for marrying you without gay relation ship.Allah can do impossibles.
I just love the human body, it's so fascinating, and I just want to push (or pull) myself further every day and experiment with how amazing my body can be. I'm just starting with calisthenics so even basic things are hard, but I'm so excited guys, I can't wait to impress myself with how much I can improve and make sports more easy. I'm 14 btw so I hope this sticks with me and I'll be a superhuman when I reach adulthood XD
been strength/hypertrophy training for over 25 years, eating clean, but now my shoulders are both torn, Been reading how good calisthenics is for mobility and overall self improvement - What I'm finding hard is how often can you do this in a day/week and how long should your sessions be? I'm very good at self motivation, I have all my own equipment, Just need a little direction and came across your great channel, any advice would be greatly appreciated
This is the second video I ever watch in calisthenics and my question was of course, "how many reps do I need to do per exercise?" So glad I got lucky enough to come across your video after watching a bad video. Instant like and subscribe and definitely inspired because you're using logic in your explanation and demonstration. I'm a firm believer in not only how to do something but why I'm doing it. Thank you brother!

Sacks why are so quiet about the Ukraine issue? Ah., wait the Ruzzia is being obliterated, humiliated and ultimately f..d - is that a reason you’re so shy all over sudden?
I'm new to calisthenics but want to start! Do you have a beginner routine you recommend? (Which exercises, how many reps, etc.) Or like a scaffold of "start with this form until you can do X amount easily then move on to this form"?
Would you say it’s smart for someone overweight (I’m 6’1 235) to begin calisthenics or should I lose the weight first? I ask because I feel like I don’t have the sufficient muscle mass underneath to properly start this.
its funny I am older like 60 and someone asked me how many pushups I can do I told them 50-60 I weight 240lbs and large fram e 6'2" but I amlso tell them that thoseo 50-60 pushups I call cheat pushups becaue I do them fast I al;s otold them if do proper pushups I can do 10-15 decline off my couch and maybe 20 level on thje floor but even them are pretty cheaty because my speed isnt slow it medium if I were to do proper pushups slow I could do 5 maybe six slow decline and maybe 5-10 level on the floor. I have been doing sort of hand stands I walk up the wall wih my feet but my hands are around two feet from the wall and I just while babalncing on the wall with my feet body straight hole for a slow count of 30 . I als odo the uidner the table pullups which are hard because being tall and having long arms I am not gettting the full length my place is tinmy I can barely do my set of Chi gong and forget about me doing my taichi but the few exercises I do seem to help alittle with my strengh . I miss the days of being 20-30 and being able to pull my 210lb body up anywhere or doing cheat 150 pushups and maybe20-30 pullups forward grip . I want that back but proper foprm is most imprtant .
Are you against oscillatory training? I see you point out that a full range of motion is key and that OT techniques are NOT the way to go. I think a mix of both is much more beneficial. No?
I love calisthenics. You gave me a very good idea, how to start thanks if you can send some more ideas about calisthenics I'll very happy to introduce it to routine please please
I love calisthenics, although I need to get back into regular practise. I'd like to point out that I'm a woman, and there are plenty of women out there who practise calisthenics for their strength and fitness. Why do you only mention Men in your notes? .....
