Great to see this buyers guide. I got back into the game and currently we're using the Eldritch Omens to learn 10th edition. Would a Forgefiend make for a decent option for TS, or would it be better to keep the box set as is for smaller games and persue this army with other options as seen here?
Forgefiend is not bad for TS, just doesn’t really mix with any abilities, strats and etc for now. Perhaps in the codex we might get some good detachment for it, so if you like it - don’t shy away from it.
@@vfminiatures So it's one of those try it and see for yourself type of situation. Fair enough, I don't plan to play tournaments anytime soon so if I like it than great! Appreciate the input.
I started with a box of exalted sorcerers and rubric marines, and painted two of the exalteds plus the aspiring sorcerer and three rubrics for a warpcoven kill team. After that I got the start collecting box (10 rubrics, 10 tzaangor and ahriman) and I'm currently working on getting a 500 point list together (ahriman on foot, sorcerer, 2x5 rubrics + tzaangor). after that I plan to slowly add stuff while keeping the army playable at 1000, 1500 and then 2000 points. Nice video, I appreciate hearing which units were good in past editions as they might be good to have in your collection. Do you have any recommendations for etsy sellers for MVBs? I've seen some really cool sculpts but they tend to be even more expensive than GW, though I'll probably still get one for the variety.
Good plan and glad you like the video - here’s a good one, he has 3 of the designs available for sale and currently you can get 2 for $99 www.etsy.com/listing/1094563425/ I’m not affiliated with this seller and can’t comment on quality, etc. Reviews seem to be good.
First box I bought was actually the Battle Force for the Crimson King xD then I bought the Combat patrol and now I'm missing stuff to get to 2K, any suggestions?
Crimson King is a brilliant box, you have all the rubrics you need. Now buy 5 termies, 3 Mutalith, 2x3 Tzaaangor enlightened, some spawn and you probably already have a 2K list, and a good one.
Yes, definitely. I go into more detail on this in my How to Play video, but in general yes - both tzaangore and cultists are good for this and necessary in general
I dunno if these video are making it easier or harder to pick a 40K army haha, I'm really torn between TSons, World Eaters, DG or maybe Nids, I like the simple idea of charge and smash with World Eaters but when I did play AoS I never got chance of using magic army since I played Orks so TSons appeal, DG might be more forgiving, and then Nids has nearly all 3 aspects it seems
