Great video, thank you for all the info! What are your thoughts on a smaller array system like the Bose L1 Pro8 or Evo 30 for smaller graduation parties/backyard weddings?

I'm starting a DIY DJ rental business. Not to make a ton of money, but simply because I like nice equipment. Nice equipment is expensive and I thought, why not rent it out to at least pay for the cost. My question to you is, insurance. Do you go with a set damage waiver? A security depisit? Or full blown business insurance? The equipment I'm renting is brand new, high end, bluetooth capable. No DJ controllers, mixers etc... Like you said, simplicity. Plug the speakers in, pair with you phone or tablet and your off! Hopefully you see this.

I'm not sure if there is an insurance policy that would cover rental items not coming back. If there is it would probably be pretty expensive. Best thing you can do if you want to cover yourself is have a good rental policy that they sign, take a copy of their ID and a credit card. I'm in Fargo, ND so I rarely have issues so I'm not as strict but I would be if I was in a bigger city. Also make sure you log serial numbers in case you have to file a police report and have labels printed to tag your gear.

I found the first few times renting my gear to he pretty scary (worried it wouldn't come back). But after a few times you get used to it. I do actually have to hassle someone today about returning blacklight dodge ball.

They are showing up now. Pair of Mackie SRM 212 V class speakers. I'm so excited I can't contain myself lol! They better produce what Mackie is claiming. These are supposed to be better than the QSC K12s. I hope so for them. I believe in come backs!

Ok, I'll be honest. Not that impressed. The sound from my phone on bluetooth and my laptop are night and day. I'll hook up my controller tomorrow and see what it sounds like. The volume is there for sure. Just can't get the fullness I'm looking for. Kinda difficult to pair and the sound is completely different between devices. Renting these out would cause a lot of problems as far as being user friendly.

Yeah I have a review out of the DRM212 and while it was a pretty good speaker I think for the $$ there are better options out there. I really like Mackie mixers but their speakers are not quite top of the line.

Hi, what are your thoughts about renting dj gear like a rx3 in packages? Is it worth the risk ?

Does this business requires dj only and musician background or anyone can start from scratch?

How is 5% of MAP worth your time?

It seems to work out all right for me. Take a pair of Electro-Voice ELX200-12p speakers. Rental price on those are $40 per speaker. $80 for the pair. Plus $10 for the stands is a $90 rental. Some things vary though. I do projectors at 10% of map because they have bulbs that can burn out. Hazers cost more as well because they have consumable fluid. Also keep in mind these are just pick up and drop off prices. If someone wants me to come out and set it up and tear it down that's extra.
