Your tie-down of the FSS arm was brilliant! The relays were fine. FSS was the culprit! Thanks so much for the post! Been searching for someone with an answer for three months!
Watched your video, drove over to my 96 Ram cycled the heater twice then gave the lever a lift and felt it latch up. The truck started right up and I got it home. Thank you 😊
I saw your shirt says Harvard and realized that you must have got a master's degree in zip tie usage! haha always great to see your videos! Ran my truck with a manual choke cable fuel shutoff like a tractor for a few months when my solenoid died... till I decided I had enough of that! lol
Haha, you bet! I'm glad you like the videos! Yeah, I've thought of the cable mod, but not only would it get old and eliminate the possibility of adding a turbo timer in the future, but buddies also drive my truck sometimes so they'd probably forget how to turn it off, haha. So I'm stuck with the FSS, but I carry zipties! Thanks again!
CumminsWorks Hey your solenoid is naked! a lot of trucks that boot rots and falls off. Up in the Northeast the heim joint rusts up and makes the truck stay running rather than being unable to start I did notice my 94 has round heim joint while others have a square one like your truck. odd I wonder if it's a sort of improvement
Thank you very much for the info! Thanks to you a was able to find out the exact start issue with my cummins, i have to say that when it didnt want to start i was really afraid that what it would cost me but thanks to you now is running. You explained everything really outstanding. God bless dude.
Awesome job my 95 Dodge wouldn’t start found your video and click lever up starts like a charm . Now since I have to click the lever every time, I’m thinking maybe relay to it is bad , what do you think ?
What I found out is that three prong plug going to it the center one is to pull up hot it has a separate hot wire that goes to the battery I found mine was simply laying on the ground disconnected reconnected it boom it works
I got an 03 Dodge Cummins that will only start with ether. It started fine until a garage changed the transmission control module now it only starts with ether. Any ideas on what happened to it?
94 Dodge Ram Cummins diesel start it up, ive had it forever and all sudden no power, loud air sucking sound, drives slow anything up to 15 miles an hour oil lite start showing up for reel ligt bad air sucking sound from the engine any idea could it be my Turbo Starvin the engine for oil?
hey CW. my 94 started rough idling as i was warming it and letting out white smoke at the tail, i revd the motor then it shut down. i cranked motor and it simply cranks. wont run. I am thinking changing fuel filter, clean pre-filter. Anything you can think of what it might be? thanks.
Oh boy...here goes..... I have a 1975 C30 Chevrolet with a 1990 5.9 12valve Cummings Keeps cutting off for the last 2 weeks at inopportune moment Finally figured out was my FSS switch....pulled switch out but HAD NO PLUNGER!!!! Now what??
I still can't find this solenoid on mine doesn't look like that at all. Also it has. The opposite problem now where it doesn't shut off even if I remove the key.
Did you ever find an answer to the problem? My 1998 Ram2500 manual does the same thing every now an then and I have to put it in 5th and slowly let off the clutch to stop it.
So, If my FSS is moving the rod but still no start, any ideas? I saw you bleed video but on my bluebird bus access to that fron of the P7100 is difficult. I can pump the primer to the bleed screw above my fuel filter and get fuel, then crack the pipe fitting before it goes into the injector and get fuel. I pump and pump the primer but no fuel to the injectors. My key is off and the FSS is in the closed position. Should i have the key on while bleeding to engage the FSS or use the zip tie to keep it open or is it ok just to leave it closed? Thanks for the videos
I changed the timing housing on my 97 ram Cummins 5.9 diesel I removed the injector pump put everything back but now won't start....there no fuel on the rails any clues?
My truck starts no problem. It just dies after some time or if I put it in gear. Sometimes I can get in gear but have no power at all then it dies.....
I started my 5.9 on a cold freezing day just to let it warm up,,, I forgot it and went to town for a couple of hours came home and remembered and it had stopped running. My fuel solenoid is working but will not start. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Instead of messing around with zip ties I ended up taking the solenoid completely off and hooked up a manual engine stop cable! Same as shown here > ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5u5fLYRtiKQ.html
hey I have a question i hope you can give an answer FSS on my 12v cummins stays up when im cranking but drops down when i release the key to run position! what do you think my problem is? an thank you for all these videos, i pretty much watched all :) I`m a new cummins owner.
@@CumminsWorks hi thanks for the quick respond I`m not sure, didnt diagnose that does the engine need to be running for the heater to work? or just keys on run position?
