Heyyy! This is my old good partner from Shell dealer years 80's. Originally was petrol engine, was installed diesel engine when we bought it. Nice memories👍
Mine never did. Only reason I junked it was the left door fell off which rusted the floor and the chassis rail was rusted through. Still ran though and I couldn't afford to restore it. Did need an engine rebuild though. Swapped out the 2300 for a 2600 in the mid '90's as sister-in-law put a rod through the block.
My dad used to work on old cars back when I was a kid. I can't tell you how many times my mom would pull him like this to get one started. Boy, this brings back memories. Great video!
these Peugeot 404 engines are so reliable, in fact here in Tunisia we still have them 404 pickups as well as the 504 later model, they still running strong around here, carrying loads and doing all sorts of heavy lifting work.
Well done Comrade. Took a bit of doing but you got that engine into life again. In the mid 70's UK, we had the Toyota Crown Saloon, 2600cc. Was a top of the range car back then, not many were seen as quite pricy back then. Nice find. As mentioned elsewhere, these pick ups seemed to be big in Australia/NZ. 👍💯🇬🇧😉
Honestly, I think this is my favourite video you've made. It has everything - drama, suspense, perseverance. What a great car, super cool, and obviously super reliable 😅 great job 👏🏻
It has remnants Shell-logos on the bonnet/doors and Oulu, Haapalehto reading on the sides, I wouldn't be surprised if this was some kind of a shop truck for local Shell gas station over there in 80's/90's. Kinda would wanna dig up the history of this, and how on earth it ended up in Estonia.
@@Teemu_1366 not maybe, it is for sure. Our old car, my father bought and very good painter made colours. It was sold later to someone who made business with Estonian people.
A recent video from Al of 6d Diesels who got himself a Pug 404 diesel pickup showed that to get those things to fire up after standing for years, you have to crank them for a ridiculous amount of time for them to catch, after that they're relatively reliable at starting up, so long as you keep using it, otherwise it's back to square one... :P
@@maxtoledano9168do not flatter the French, Toyota used to make engines for ships even earlier and better, so this crown is on the factory diesel modification i would have driven the same amount more.
1:08 - Nice Polski Fiat 125p (or FSO 125p), known in Poland as "duży Fiat" (the big Fiat); the Polish equivalent of the Žiguli, which was also sold in France, the U.K. and Thailand You should save that one
Там судя по электрике особо ничего не работает, дизель старый, полностью механический, кроме топлива ему ничего не надо, на тросу прокатили и воздух выгнали из системы и камеры прогрели, вот и запустился.
Toyota crown old school vehicle in the the day that car will last forever and forever needs everything battery paint job four cylinder stick shift engine is good condition new tires air filter never been used get that girl running as possible new parts really video like this bring them to life from the grave
What a good old work horse.Imagine almoust 30years later and it runs. Kinda like the design, never seen one in person. Good for a project with ratstyle and a new engine. Love your chanel.
Samochody o tym samym wyglądzie i karoserii wypuszczał też SEAT, a nasz pf 125p był importowany do Jugosławii i tam sprzedawany jako Zastawa 125./ Cars with the same appearance and body were also released by SEAT, and our pf 125p was imported to Yugoslavia and sold there as Zastawa 125.
They sold a lot of those In Australia. I knew a guy who had swapped in a GM Holden Six engine and fivespeed trans. It was a really nice car to drive. A lot of them in Australia were stripped and the chassis used to make Cobra replicas in the 1980's.
I know it's in rough shape but I would keep it as is and just do some mechanical work. The aged paint and highlights of old shell markings just looks so good.
Flexiny ! In Romania i have a 2001 GPL Seat Alhambra that hasen't run on the roads for 4 years ago ! Now, i just wanted to tell you this thing because leads to your ocupation ! So have a nice day and keep this awsome work up ! I luve your videos !
Hi Flexiny....Back in the late 70's, my Dad was given one of these (Saloon)....he ripped out the old straight 6 aluminium engine.....and put a Wolseley (British make) 3 litre, straight six CAST IRON engine in it......and it RAN! Still have the radio out of it, if you're interested.
Feck . My Peugeot van has been having problems with the brakes so a few months. Done all the work now won't start. You get this this running and it runs brilliantly after all this time . Nothing wrong with it except a bit of rust . 👍
Yep it's not the environment it's money cars lasting too long so make them so complex that when they do break we have to replace the vehicle as a whole 😅
@@vadim6385 I agree but most diesel cars are euro 5 or 6 and have dpfs or adblue additives so are very clean nowadays. And I think you are missing the point in my reply the manufacturers don't care about pollution just profits built in obsolescence costs more to produce a new car and environmental impact than running an old tdi till it failed.
Well good job 1 most important thing if now the engine can't make the h.p that he should make is life is real short clean the fuel tank and don't push it 2 hard replace in new parts what ever you can in the engine most important its a working diesel good job man
this car looks so good, you can modify it up as a hot rod, and it's a Toyota so a bulletproof engine too, i am not a fan of Toyota's but their engines are amazing, it took so long for someone to finally dethrone them and it was Mazda.
Lol some comments you look at and think dang some people talk without any knowledge and understanding 😂 . Hey we all should be used to it now days in they world we live in.
Toyota swap engine sound, Crown car uses a Peugeot 404 diesel engine, the sound is crisp, typical of a 1970-1989 diesel engine, like a 1970-1999 Toyota Dyna Rino truck. Isuzu TFR heavy duty truck, Mitsubishi Colt public transport bus, first generation L300 truck and L300 diesel pickup. and the second is a diesel engine, the Daihatsu Montana truck and the Taft Kebo use a diesel engine, the engine code is the same, the DL diesel 2.8cc 1970-1989 still uses a heating spark plug injector system and a 70s model Boshpump from the Indonesian Majapahit era.
Prawdopodobnie ten samochód jest całkowicie zjedzony. Na pewno nie ma podłogi. One miały słaba blachę , tak jak wszystkie fiat-y./ This car is probably completely eaten. There's definitely no floor. They had very unstable sheet metal, like all Fiat cars.
Это же Тойота. Она заведется даже в том случае, когда от машины одни фары остались. Но до рекорда немного недотянули.. Всего-то 27 лет простоял. Даёшь запуск машины после 40 лет простоя.
5:40...Peep that fly ass Ford Taurus wagon! Straight outta National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Probably has a junk 3.0L V6 with the similarly junk auto trans.
