This car was build in 1982 in this beautyfull color and interieur. In combination with that "Fuchs" wheels an absolutly beauty, a little used perhaps. :)
These are the kind of videos that I enjoy watching. I've always known that the W123 is an indistructible car. No matter how much rust and dirt they have. They will always start working. I got a 1984 200 gasoline engine it's a W123 as well and I consider it the best car ever made.
At first glance you can say this car has a soul. All modern cars look the same, this is because we are getting to 'cars by subscription' business model where you do not own your car but car company owns you.
@@GedoSenkai You're right. Nowadays all the cars look the same. Even a Mercedes looks too similar to a Hyundai. We're in a decade where design and luxury doesn't matter. As long as it has a screen with lots of apps the car automatically becomes precious to people. Everything has become commercial. I bet you that with one door of a W123 you could make the hood of a Hyundai or Toyota.
One of the best cars ever but rust wins often and there is no chassis on the car. without the plug in heater an old 240D is hard to start when under forty degrees out. Vacuum is a pain often. I like the part with the torch.
great vid, flexiny, as always. you've done a great job on this old Merc. i love to see, how you get such veterans fixed an running again. i was smilin' at the moment you spend this 240D 2 "new" flashers, the Merc-star on the trunk-lid and the fuses. after the pressure-washing it looks so majestic like a good old pal you can depend on. what i like the most in your vids: concentration on the work, no chatter, no unnecessary clickbait, only needful information. stay as you are =).
I grew up in Kaliningrad (not so far from you, man). These 123 diesels were everywhere - taxi, your neighbour's car, whatever. Engine still sounds like from my sweet childhood. Excellent job!
Hug from Brazil
Bit more work to get this engine going but you succeeded, You are one of the best RU-vidrs getting old engines going, and the vehicles driving again as well. Keep up the great video's.
Maaan! You just living my dream life- having you`re own ranch with the bunch of old cars. *life could be a dream playing on the background* Much respect to you. Keep on doing this. I really glat that at least some car gays can do what you are doing !
Great Job Guys! I had the same car in my earlier Days but in a little bit better condition. The sound of this brave Diesel is still amazing. Wonderful !
This are the videos I like to see because is all homemade fixed and not like those who are edit and used pro tip tools to start a car up! Nice going guys keep making videos like this 👍😊
Great find again. Even after being robbed of parts to save another old Benz, it comes back to life again. And just look at that paint and chrome still ok. This is from a time when the W123's made us think that the Germans were the best engineers. Sadly, not the case today. 👍💯🇬🇧😉
I love it when you bring these old diesel Mercedes content, hearing it is music to my ears, what are you doing now with the 240 diesel, greetings from Germany
❤ A real DELIGHT to see that someone has made an effort to bring these relics back to life! My sincere thanks to you and thank you for sharing it! ❤
Strong engine,my mate had one of these,he run it on used chip oil straight from the fryers,it was a quick car in the day, body rusted away, cracking body on this one, well worth saving
Really enjoyed watching the video and getting it ready to drive again after such a long time! Keep it up with these kind of video's, greetings from Holland.
You always give life and honor to old rich and simple poor cars. So I think your mission is pure and democratic.. I thank you x that. Hope someone buy and use that old Mercedes. Maybe one of the best rescue 😮
Really love this video. From someone who has a 230e W123, you have a lot to do (before youll pass the TUV :)) but its great to get these cars back on the road. Keep up the great work and well done
That's a shame someone let this car get to this state, these cars are amazing reliable and top of the line back in the day, plus the drive like they are on rails,my Dad was a engineer and in his younger years back in the 60s and 70s all he drove were M-B''s , when he got older he became a little more frugal and started driving other brands but ill always remember him telling me "nothing drives like a Mercedes Benz" , mind you this was back in the day when only certain people drove these cars and they were status symbols, these days the school janitor has a new one plus the quality and build and style is just not there anymore, glad to see it rescued! Ill share a personal memory, i actually accompanied my Dad to a dock to pick up a brand new 450 SL straight from Germany, had a quart of gas in it, blue , this must have been early 70s,sign some papers and off we went! i was little but i remember it vividly, something else i will never forget on these older models is the noise the doors make when they close, its like a air lock, lol, why did my old man decide to buy it from overseas i have no clue but thats how it went down.
So beautiful, she deserves all our respect! In Brazil there were plenty of them in the 70s, but they were all gasoline because diesel was prohibited for use in light vehicles, as is the case to this day, hugs, Rio de Janeiro!
Genau dieses Model hatte ich komplett restauriert. Schweißarbeiten hielt sich in Grenzen. Zum Glück. Die Mechanik komplett überholt. Ansonsten ein super Auto. Sehr gemütlich und zuverlässig.
