I'm no Auto mechanic but from what I have been learning about this system, I think it may save a lot of time to check the simplest things first (battery connections) and then (if it is possible) for power at the starter . Especially in light of the anti theft module.

3.4 chevy lumina car ,no power going to purple ign wire at starter ,had someone crank no power at "s" side off starter during this test, turned key to the on position jumped out starter to crank still want start ,i no stater is good ,when turning the key on i cant hear the fuel pump ? do you think i have a bad ignition switch could be the problem, the key dose stick alittle not bad i was thinking if i replaced the key cylinder and the switch will this have to be re programed for the surcrity system" pats key " thanks for any info you may have ,and thank you for your videos you do god bless you and your family!

Might seem nit-picking but on the starter relay there are two 85 terminals/slots. Should the left one be 86?

Start disconnecting components. What does this fuse feeds? You need a power distribution diagram and can't do it without it. Think starter solenoid shorted or something along those lines. Post back with more information. Thanks for posting.

I'm looking for a 1972 Cutless Supreme headlight switch pin ID. I have a friend who took the entire dash out & we fabricated brackets & such & installed a tachometer where the clock went & an oil (mechanical) gauge between the fuel gauge cluster & speedo & an temperature gauge between the speedo & tachometer. I'm gonna wire in all the gauges into the headlight switch dimmer. The problem with the completely out is, I don't know which wire on the harness going into the switch is the dimmer.

Thank you so much for your videos. I'm no mechanic but necessity demands I learn so I can get my vehicle on the road. Does the 2000 Mazda 2500se 2.5L 4cyl - manual trans. have an Anti-theft Module that shuts the truck off? I have an intermittent loss of Power to the Engine. I'll be driving along great and the truck will shut off without any noise or warning. Then it may start 3 or 4 days later but run really rough - unstable- not safe to drive. Change bad fuel pump, fuel filter, 2 - oxygen sensors, EGR valve, TPS, IAC, MAF sensor, lower bearing pulley and belt. Tested all the mini fuses in Engine Compartment, they have not been blown.

This is not the starting circuit. This is the starting SYSTEM with 3 circuits. The key/relay coil, the relay/solenoid coil, and the solenoid/starter. Calling it a circuit is very dangerous. These circuits can all be redrawn as straight lines which simplifies the process of interpretation. All circuits have one load. Power - ground - load - switches. The neutral switch is typically in the relay coil circuit.

Daniel Sullivan l have a henry Ferguson tractor gas 4 cylinder it has a starter bolted to the body u crank it by pushing forward on the gear shift it has a strarter swicth mounted to the hoghead of the transmission i need some one to walk me threw step by step on how to rewire this tractor it has a new resister a good battery 3 wire altonator it has a new coil the starter has been rebuilt i cant get it to turn over no matter what i do i can not get the strarter to in gage at all on the tractor. but with a battery an a jumper wire on the ground dirt grass what ever it works prefect. but i try the same thing with it bolted to the tractor i want click or even try to turn over please someone help me out i dont no what eles to do?

I have a 2000 s10 2.2 automatic for a little over a month my truck would not crank a few times every now and then when I would go to start it. I would turn the key nothing but go back and do it again and walla! at least 4 Times it has happened till one day it wouldn't start. lights turn on when attempting to start but that's it. all fuses and relays work, I even replaced the Ignition switch but nothing. I don't have power to the "S" wire but I can start it if I I jump.it from the fuse box. I've been at this for months . I can't even push it out of my garage because the brake pedal is hard and cannot put it in neutral

I have a 97 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 the alternator is sometimes over charging and sometimes under to the point it drains the battery. It has a new alternator and battery which have been tested. I have checked the ground wire,replaced the fuse able link coming off the battery and it is still fluctuating, any idea's

sir, my question is,why your starter relay #85 thats is ground suppose to be is ecm signal (ground )and not anti theft module.and the park nuetral switch ckt also send signal to the ecm, thats your transmission is at the park position. and the anti thieft system function is read the reading of the key if the key is correct ( and more )and send a data to body control module.and body control module send also data to the ecm.and thanks a lot to your video. ( sorry my english not good ) im only mechanic

Thanks for the broadcast ..I'm having such an issue 2005 PT crusier my OBD II port no communication and throwing 02 senors after and before being replaced and after replacing ignition switch now throwing low voltage to brake switch on the cluster when I read error codes for check engine light... help!! It's cold on the east coast and no garage to work in!

l have a loose black wire coming off my starter relay. I'm assuming it's the starter relay the wires coming off the starter come up to it I buzzed out that wire it is defnately off that relay. It is in the engine compartment near the windshield on the passenger side.

Mariann Kaa Those had an Hall Effect pickup at the distributor. It is a simple and easy replacement and not costly either. Check your power and grounds. Rebuild distributors often come with defective pickups. Hope that helps.

When i hook battery up 2 starter all wires n place when i turn on key negative terminal gwts really hot to point its smokn at first starter trys to ngage bit gets hot n drain batt. Quickly keep n mind new stater any ideas

I just bought a 1979 suzuki gs850 as a project my biggest concern is the the headlight wire it so complicated so much extra wire.there was no headlight so I bought one and trying to get it together and it's a nightmare Lol...please some ideas some one.

I have 2007 Nissan UD PKA265 Truck. Does anyone know how I can get the schematics wiring diagram. Nissan do not release the diagrams. The truck will only drive up to 80kms struggling.Changed Filters, Checked Fuel Flow, Checked Intercooler, Changed Turbo, Changed Fuel Pump, changed Foot Peddle, Checked exhaust, checked wiriing, checked air cleaner, changed computer. If anybody knows please let me know. I have tried everything.

The Neutral switch is actuated by the shift lever. THere's no mystery about it. It could be normally On or Normally Off. The system is designed for the specific change.

Starter relay coil , should be 86 from the ignition, if it's ground on 85 from anti theft module...,

I'm trying to get the harness to,1977 Ford f -100 three on the tree . Yes I got the book 73-79 but don't have much for 77 went to the Ford f-100 dealer shop. They said don't have that yr . I got the pictures from Google drive yrs ago the harness was the same as mine. Let a friend my truck jumping s car he didn't but battery in right burn all the wires. Did one more time , some one broke into the truck ripping the wires from dashboard and took some of the harness with them I got everything I need to put it together..but I need the starting system prints. Sorry for the running around but I need to get running. Got two tickets for a junk in the yard. Was my Pops. Truck and now my boys . Just can't lose my pops truck. If I did something wrong to Google or you .I'm sorry for that. I Will look some were els

When you use that word "simple" most people run the other way. To you it may be simple but depending on two things the application & what the unit actually has determines how "Simple" it really is? Many of the videos are of NO help in many cases they tend to confuse people even more when the problem they have isn't obvious. Wiring is one problem many units have & some people are totally lost with that. So there is nothing "Simple" especially when someone has hacked the machine you are working on.
