I love Mabasa and can relate so much. 20 years ago I entered my first triathlon. This was long before "regular" people did triathlons. Over the years it's turned into a bit of a local hobby thing but back then an average person didn't just go in an Olympic distance triathlon (which I did). I came in dead last and barely made it past the finish line. The next day I told my (now wife) that I was going to complete the ironman. 2 years later I did just that. Finished the Canadian Ironman. Sometimes in those moments of total failure you have an awakening. Been running ever since:) Amazing video as always!!

Well, the reviews speak for them self. I showed this episode to my wife who does not care about running or adventure racing at all and she was very impressed. Now let me tell you she is from NZ and worked with the team from The Hobbit before so she is not easily impressed. That’s probably the biggest compliment you can get from her. This is such a good advertisement for running: beautiful footage, focus on some individual runners and let them tell their stories - because everybody of us has his own story to tell - absolutely loving it! Always enjoy your videos, but what makes this Namibia series so special is, how unique it is among all the other desert racing videos (and news coverage) I've seen. Usually, it's more about all the problems and the suffering and even controversy (like with the 2021 Marathon de Sables). And maybe you'll get to that :/ But imparting so much of the positive, enjoyable aspects of it all is refreshing, and actually has a bigger, deeper impact I think. Tales of overcoming pain and suffering are a big part of storytelling for sure. But getting a feeling for the why of it all is just as important.

As others have already said, amazing work here and in the previous episodes. I thought it was a nice choice to begin at the monument to national liberation. Incredible vignettes in this episode & the last one of your fellow racers. I particularly liked what Mabasa observed around 16:45: that when running, you have to think forward -- you can't ruminate on what's already happened. So much excellent life philosophy seems to come from runners. I'm adding this bit of wisdom. Thanks, Mabasa and thanks, Jeff.

Another superb and inspirational episode Jeff. Again the human story but also the variety in your film. Lots of little things that make up the whole. Your gear, your commentary, the sounds of the desert winds, the smiling faces, etc. Fabulous to see the landscape as you went. Nice to see you easily talking after several hours. Im getting caugh up to watch the whole serie, I,ve watch most of your fast pack serie. I really enjoy your filming. It gives the appetite to explore and find adventure for ourselves. I like that it focus on the experience rater than the performances. And loads of pretty views. I wanted to ask if you have any tips on recovery. I'm about to embrace the trail running in opposition of road running exclusively. I find myself sore after hill repeats, high ascension etc. I'm trying to use electro-lyte, foam roll and stretching. But I welcome any further tips... keep going, I really enjoy your videos !

I know Channel 4 in the UK have shown some Levinson Wood stuff which is of equal quality. This deserves much more exposure than just RU-vid. Hats off to you, it really is incredible.

Yea, there’s definitely a line you can cross where it simply becomes difficult to run at all when your pack is too large. Unfortunately, light and packable gear isn’t cheap, so there’s a barrier for some. But in some cases I think it’s just about sacrificing comfort and cleanliness 😂
