We have SF just for the agent. Everytime we need to make a claim we call our agent directly who even makes contact with us after hours. I could get way better rates somewhere else but I can’t get another agent like mine.

@@LastBastian I've had SF homeowners and auto for 19 years now. My car was hit in a parking lot while I was in a restaurant. I filed my first clame on June 4 2022 it's now July 9th 2022 my car is still in the shop and SF has actually refused to pay the full bill at the body shop with a prefer provider. And my car had the battery and fuse box knocked lose and made 27 codes go off. They are now saying that it was not related to the impact yet the shop tried to explain to them that the kinetic energy which felt throughout the entire system period. It's been over a month and I still do not have my car back. They started off saying I would only have a rental for 21 days so I've waited for a month to get one. It's now going to take 6 weeks befor a dealership can even get to the point to look at my car. The clams team had not even sent anyone to look at my car and are not even contacting me at all. I am in the process of having my ATTERNY take over and will be changing insurance companies as soon as this is settled. I do have a local Agent who is a Great guy but it's like I've told him if they are not going to do what I've paid them to do for the past 19 years then I have no choice but to fine another company who will take care of there customer's!!!

Sometimes as much as once a month my clients who are insured by State Farm are forced to contact a lawyer, our state department of banking and insurance, or beg their local agent to step in and intervene when State Farm's claims departments won't negotiate within the constraints of fair practices as outlined by the law, sidestep their own policy language, and try to screw over their insureds. Maybe a "good" company when you aren't using them, TERRIBLE when it comes time to pay the bill. How else are they Fortune's 36th ranked company in the US? By KEEPING your money when it comes time for them to pay it. Don't trust this company.

YES, that is the way they role. HORRIBLE about paying claims. But AllFAKE is the same way, they low ball their clients on indemnifying them. Not in good hands, and NOT a good neighbor.

You’ve just described all insurance companies. They’re in business to NOT pay out. And they ALL will, for example, put junkyard parts on your brand new car that got wrecked, etc.

We had a huge storm roll through our city wrecking everything almost two years ago. *Every other insurance company that my friends and coworkers have, hooked them up and payed them almost immediately.* Two years later and State Farm is still screwing us. As a Non-DRP (Direct Repair Program) and OEM-Certified Collision Repair Facility, we are consistently vilified by this insurer. The State Farm Illinois Auto Policy is a pedestrian insurance policy that is rarely ever reviewed or read by the policyholder (and State Farm Agents as well). The State Farm Illinois Auto Policy has NO Appraisal Clause for a Repairable Vehicle (it was removed by State Farm over a decade ago). What this means is that if a policyholder has a disputed claim, they have to hire an attorney, or submit the claim to small claims court. The staggering marketing/advertising spend is how they draw in new policyholders and then churn them out the back end with under-indemnified claims. The POWER of marketing and perception is the reason many consumers purchase this product and others like it - most consumers see the advertising daily. Best advice is to stay away from most of these companies and seek the expertise of an "Independent Agent" that represents many insurers and can offer a prospective policyholder an array of quotes designed to properly protect their assets. State Farm actually a decent insurance company 2-3 decades ago. Now they're in a race to the bottom with the other "top insurers". Consumers need to do their homework and read their policy and understand what will happen in a claim scenario. Collision Repair Professionals have a tremendous responsibility and liability repairing today's highly technical vehicles. Although we guide our guests through this process, we utilize a Licensed Certified Public Insurance Adjusting firm to work with consumers to receive a fair settlement. EDUCATE yourself on insurance - you are protecting valuable assets and lives.

I've had state farm for over 15 years. Have over 6 vehicles insured but recently they decided to remove our roadside assistance feature for "excessive use". Yeah we are going with another insurance. Plus they fight you to pay for anything.

they do not remove it without reason. they only remove it because you have used it consistantly, if you look at your declaration pages you will see that you were only paying less than $10.00 every six months for this specific coverage, thats $1.66 a month per service. if your vehicle continues to break down and you need emergency road side services the best way to go about its purchashing AAA.

@@mitasvideos it’s even less than that where I am. That endorsement is only $2.40 for my car every 6 months so that’s $0.40 per month per car. Tows can cost $100s per use so them allowing you to use it 6 times is an amazing deal.

All the jury duty cases I have been FORCED to serve on were State Farm, claims that SHOULD have been PAID. Instead they hassled their clients and refused to honor their contract. WORST company ever for standing up for their people. YES, I am an insurance producer and I have SEEN these policies they write and tell people GET someone qualified to get you the RIGHT coverage for YOU, not to get them commissions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work in the reconstruction industry (fire and water damage) and I recommend people avoid State Farm. I’ve spoken to many homeowners who have felt cheated by them. Imagine being an 80 year old widow who has been faithfully paying premiums for years and you have a fire and your insurance company is requiring you to walk through the rubble of your destroyed possessions in order to put together an inventory list for them. This is the kind of nonsense State Farm does to save a buck. Some agents do actually care for their clients and they will find a workaround to pay someone to put together an inventory report but in my opinion the fact that the company refuses to pay for total loss inventory regardless of circumstance and the ability of the homeowner shows that it isn’t a very good company.

I agree insurance company's suck. But remember you enter a contract where YOU have responsibilities. You can't drive a vehicle without safety maintenance and expect a full payout for an accident. Having an old leaking roof doesn't help when you put in a water damage and mold claim. Biggest broblem is having your property insured for half the replacement value. You should keep records of possessions in your home in case of a disaster. READ YOUR POLICY, and know you're responsibilities. Don't give the insurance company a reason to deny your claim. Im a general contractor who repairs homes. Worse ones are fire claims, because it's usually fire and water damage. You really don't know the extent of the damage until you get it all torn out.

That doesn’t make sense to me either. If you were supposed to pay $250 for 30 days they means the price per day is approximately $8.33 per day. You kept the policy for 17 days = $141.67. I would expect $87-ish($229-$142) back unless they have a cancellation fee which, if they do, is usually small. I would ask for proof or some explanation that makes sense.

The reason people complain about claims so much is that they DO NOT read their policies, especially in the homeowners department.. 60% of people are terrible homeowners and do not regularly maintain the home and let it fall apart and try to stick the insurance company with the bill.. insurance is for sudden and accidental damage not things that have been going on with the home

Some of the complaints are laughable. They dropped my $2.40 per 6 months towing after using it 6 times. They didn’t pay for water damage due to a leaking pipe in my condo. Slow leaking pipes are never covered by any insurance and damage to the structure of a condo is the HOAs responsibility.

#1 doesn't mean the best paying out if your pocket $$$ Honestly,I'm currently with state farm and have been with State farm 4+ yrs; I'm the only one policyholder 2 vehicles with just liability with driving more than 15 yrs and no ticket, no DUI, no DWI and never got any claims, but still costs me $143/m or $858/6m or $1,716/yr. they already know that to pay out $858 every 6 months or $1,716/yr with just liability is too high but just say nothing because they don't wanna lose the customers. What do you think of my premium $1,716/yr with just liability with 2 vehicles with only me (no one else under my policy) and never got any tickets, no DWI, and no DUI in the last 7 yrs? You guys think my premium is low....good?

AIG went bankrupt in 2008. The Federal reserve ended up taking over and paying 205 billion to restructure the company. It was Baaad, people lost their retirement and others went getting claims paid.

My mother purchased term for me adult, and 10 & 15 limited pay (permanent) life insurance, trusting an agent and well, I’m considering cancelling because I saw a video saying how permanent is not a good investment at all. I’ll go with Allstate any day over StateFarm. I’ve had nothing but terrible experiences with SateFarm Agents claiming to be your local insurance agent and selling on that to push you off on their new hired staff any time you call back with questions. So they get you through the door then turn around and push on other sales associates who have hardly any knowledge of what they are doing. To have those associates send you to their call center to endure terrible wait times. Once you reach someone from the call center they too do not know what they are doing half the time and you get sent through multiple calls. I’ve been lied to about what my premiums will be when first purchasing the policy to have the Agent tell me they don’t have control over the premium. I understand premiums change over time but not when you get quoted a rate and you pay that rate to later get a bill stating you still owe money or your policy will be canceled. Ridiculous. Allstate has never done this and you talk to knowledge people from top to bottom

All-State is now worse than State Farm. Their CEO has publicly gone on record stating his main focus is shareholders and not policy holders. They are also shifting towards paying claims like medical insurance companies do. Trying to leave you with a deductible AND a copay if you go out of their awful network.

State Farm used bait and switch tactics. I was quoted "x" amount, and started paying my premium. When the next bill showed up, my premium increased by 30%. My agent claims it was a mistake and to pay this bill, and the following month will have a rebate. The 3rd bill turned out to to be even more than the second, and I never received my rebate. My agent blames underwriting and says i have no choice but to pay the increased cost. I wanted to cancel my policy but was told there would be a fee of an unknown amount, prorated for the remaining policy. Now im stuck with this unaffordable policy. Car insurance should not cost 10% of my monthly income.

There’s a law that protects you against bait and switch and something called rebating. You can go to difs- department of financial services to file a complaint. That sounds wrong based on the information you’re sharing.

I have never worked with State Farm, but am always looking for the best Insurance rates and coverage. Anyone know how steady their rates are. Had Allstate once they were low and then 3 years into it the rates went up 25% for no reason. I currently have an Independent agent that found a great deal for me. State Farm is coming in for less.

They're not #1 with me. I paid my insurance in full for two vehicles and 2 trailers, later the next month they canceled my insurance without me knowing because of nonpayment. When you lay cash on the agents desk and pay in full you expect it to show as such. Then to make matters worse they then took away my top rating with them so I was to pay more for my insurance because I had a laps. Now I'm with USAA and will never go back to State Farm.

I am currently dealing with State Farm! The mixed bag of emotions that I feel with this company is jarring! I've been dealing with constant plumbing leaks with my 1st condo since NOV 2018. I've constantly called them and get the run around. The HOA is a nightmare and has me on the hook to pay 36k for issues that they should be covering. I'm really at a loss on where to go at this point. Right now, attempting to hire a lawyer. That "bulldog" is not something I have experienced with State Farm. I read also in the comments about roadside assistance being dropped, that has happened to me as well! It seems like in today's world we have to hold these companies accountable for their awful business practices!

Yeah HOAs and condos are always a mixed bag. Both your insurance and the HOAs insurance have to refer to the management agreement for liability and every contract is different. Water leaks are also a issue, most homeowners insurance only covers sudden and accidental burst pipes Constant slow leaks are a grey area that most insurance companies will nope out of paying.

aj i have state farm on october of 2020 my home was damage by a hurricane three trees fell on my house i still paid my insurance the offer was a low ball offer to repair my home here is 2022 my home has not been repaired we had to sue them this is the worst company i will tell anybody if you have this company get rid of them.

I do believe State Farm, cherry picks its policy's, I can tell you that much. Ive been with them for 30 some odd years with just 2 little claims, 10 and 20 years ago respectively. Everything's been fine untill this year I got a little bit behind on repairs and upkeep because of severial back surgerys and illness, and low & behold, without any warnings or remedies, they're canceling my homeowners insurance in 30 days, over trivial things like, the garage needing paint and replacing a broken window. After 30 some odd years of fricking Paying them $200 to $300 more a year than the same policy would cost elsewhere, (I checked), + full coveage auto insurance since late the 70s with no claims. There's no demographics to it, I'm sure that there just cherry picking policy's. I will be taking my auto policy's elsewhere, I'm not going to wait until, out of the blue, they decide to cancel that also. (Note), never missed or late with premiums.

Let me just say this... I am HEAVILY involved in the industry. State Farm is an awful company. Due to the cut-throat nature of the industry (thanks to the GEICOs of this world and all the advertising that goes along with it) they have really changed their practices. From the standpoint of both first and third-party claims; they are truly terrible. I witness first-hand, on a daily basis, the VERY shady nature of their claims handling. I have seen this time and time again, and they have gotten substantially worse over the last few years. I would think long and hard before you insure with them.

Geico seems not that bad. This insurance thing is tough, because the difference in savings between a bad cheap and good expensive company over the course of a few years could be the difference in large claims reimbursements. As much as I'd like to say "you get what you pay for," you will almost always give them more money than you give them, it's literally the business model. As much as I hate State Farm screwing customers for things like roofs, the alternative of 3000/yr in home owners insurance almost guarantees that the point of insurance goes right out the window. The margin of good and bad outcomes in an insurance claim is so sensitive to the monthly premium. Pay too much and you will almost guarantee to never make anywhere close to it in actual claims value.

When your SF agent seems deaf and incapable of answering basic questions just know you're in miserable company. I've had FAR better service from multiple providers specifically because there wasn't a fat and happy "agent" mucking up my claims, my billing, my policy changes. Meanwhile, years of loyalty from Sf policyholder friends and I heard nothing but gripes. SF is nothing remotely close to the best. Even the thinly veiled pride one deludes themself with from owning the so called "best" reeks of embarrment after finding out some mediocre salesman took all your premiums in exchange for second rate product. That's the joke that is State Farm.

I have a question, I currently have Progressive and am up for renewal. I did a quote for State Farm and they were $100.00 more a month than what I am currently paying. What us your intake on Connect powered by American Family, formerly Ameriprise Auto Insurance, which is nearly $150.00 per 6 month policy cheaper that my Progressive policy along with a little better coverage such as medical payment $4,000 more and rental at $50.00, instead of $30.00. I want to make the best decision between the two insurances. Thank you

American Family and Progressive are both good companies. If you have a hone or renters policy, look over the package or endorsements they are including. One might have water backup or a diff coverage the other doesn’t. If not, that’s a tough one. Just make sure they run your MVR and CLU first to give you an exact amount before you do anything

@@ThinkInsurance Thank you. They ran my CLU. I don't know about MRV since I am in CA. My renters policy is with Mercury since it is cheaper. Connect is also offering an $1 mil umbrella for $195.00 opposed to $350 with Progressive. American Family bought Connect in 2019.

@@ThinkInsurance I think I M going to try them out and see how I like them. Progressive told me they factor in how long you have been with current insurance when providing discounts as a way to prevent you from leaving, but close to a $200 savings is calling my name. Only downside to Connect is the amount of complaints, but most companies have complaints.

It is the worst insurance there is, when making a claim the agents invent policies to not pay the claim and end up saying that they will not cover anything because the origin of the damage was not included in the policy .. it is the worst insurer that exists.

San Fran, Cal has a lot of car crime.My neighbors car was broken into from the moon roof.State F refused to pay giving a rationale that the moon roof was faulty, nonsense of course. SFarm had an awful reputation all over Cal.if you talk to neighbors on your Next door community.. Many who have state f have a horror story. They do anything not to pay. Read the reviews here, actually worst than I have heard.

horrible insurance ! They denied our claim even after we went back to the scene of the accident and sent video proof that our accident was their clients fault. They don't care who's fault it is. They don't care about anything but denying claims

Been with state for 42 years they dropped me because of an accident my son had which was his 1st time and he learned his lesson but state farm is no good in my book they have taken the last penny from me

This is the problem with the agency model They give a false narrative like they have some extra power that they can do to a carrier!! I’ve worked an agency model I’ve been an agency manager now I work directly for MGA. If you need help with the claims process and you don’t think you’re getting a fair shake the best advice any agent can give you but most of them want is to hire an independent claims adjuster he knows how to properly file a claim on your behalf to get you the amount of money that you would need to satisfy your claim. When I was in college I had a state farm agent in Georgia name Ronald Regan And he never educated me on about lapse is on how insurance works as his client he literally cut me deaf dumb and blind couple years go bye and somebody gives me the best advice I think I’ve ever had become an insurance agent and I realize what I was doing wrong as a customer why is my rate so crazy why is my rate so high mind you I’ve never had a lot of tickets even when I was a younger man. But I kept lapsing my policy ‘ cause I never thought about the importance of insurance and my State Farm agent never taught me the importance of my insurance mind you I was short to my office every other month spent at least an hour and a half talking and Vibing with the staff it was always a friendly environment but I never looked to leave until I became an agent myself and realize my agent truly didn’t give two blank it E blank about me
