Yeah it's one I actually want to support. And I wish their team was bigger. But not too big where they start to lose the love and attention they put in their games. And then micro transaction would follow which would be the death of the growth
@@devonthegameman9753 SoD has always been rather realistic, and with 2 they really revamped it. They didn't have to give us Daybreak, Heartlands or Nightmare and Lethal difficulties (most recent two and the hardest). The fact that they did and still done a fair bit of other updates too like graphics and map size increases, is absolutely fantastic...and like I said the realism is great. You actually need outposts, morale is an issue, noise, infection progress and so on all effect you.
Aside from enhancements to graphics, I really want more dialogue and story. Perhaps taking a page from dead rising “psychos” that trigger on the spot stories or side quests wouldn’t hurt either just to keep things spicy. The random bad guy enclaves got stale very quick. A bigger map with more base diversity is obviously a must.
I reallly want to see Campaign mode that tells a story more about The Network and Red Talon separately, to know how they operate or how they were formed during the beginning of the apocalypse, and make some great character writing will make new people come to the titles.
As State of decay 2 is not a following to state of decay 1 the chance to see red talons and Network in state of decay 3 are low because they are a part of the state of decay 2 background
I love to hear that SoD 2 is still a focus for the DEVS. I really dont like what the gaming industry has become in that, they wont fix or improve their current game, but will instead hold out, so that they make the next game, grab your cash and maybe somewhat fix issues of past games
I want state of decay 3 to have a coop where me and a friend manage a community together, not like the kind that SoD2 has where we just hop on another people's world
I would love base interactions. So like when you make a feast for the community you could actually sit down and eat with everybody and have a nice cozy time with everyone, perhaps have more dialogue options to have nice convos during it. It would make it feel more immersive And perhaps have campfires! With some storytelling, feasts, cold ones!
Yeah, since Starfield has been pushed back Xbox is on a quick scramble to provide a more varied showcase; it'll still be centered around Starfield, im guessing, but not nearly as focus as originally anticipated. We might see another CG trailer but I'm guessing it'll be around 2-3 years before we see SoD3 get realized especially if it's going to be UE5 native. Virtually, nothing's out on UE5 and the Day Before which was supposed to be realized next month got delayed a year to upgrade to UE5. My eyes are on that game to speculate how a zombie can perform and I got my suspicions that SoD3 could be relative to this game. They've taken survival in a different direction where it's not about fighting anymore, it's about survival a new world with little resources, building a life out of it and realizing how hard it is when you're not at the top of the food chain anymore. Survival is real, gritty, uncomfortable and necessary. I think Undead Labs understands that and are trying to bring that out more in their next game.
I’m still lobbying for them to go for a GTA size map with different area aesthetics and many options for bases. Think about having one of those massive maps but has all the variation from rural to urban in an open sandbox.
I think that’s a big ask for a relatively new dev group but I think rather a bigger map or flushing out bases is already being worked on I say have trust (whatever that’s worth in the games industry) and hold out
It would pretty cool if we could transfer our characters from state of decay 2 to state of decay 3 or get the chance to see our original characters from the original state of decay
Preproduction usually means that the game is still in the talking/planning stage. It’s likely going to be a couple more years before anything concrete is heard/seen.
Hope they can improve the idiotic survivors AI, add camera height option, more comprehensive skill stats, and do something about the monotonous and annoying mission quests that affect enclave relationship
Worst thing in the game is all those annoying side missions that you can fail just by not doing them in time . Im on the other side of the map pockets full with a back pack of supplies on foot and a message pops up . Hey I have another sett 🤔 wait no wrong game
What I want are Fauna and Flora interactive, like a zombie Bear or a Pack of Wolfs, or hunt Deers to gather food, also a way to make survivors settlers make expeditions or scavenging where you want them to go
I've been following the undead Labs since the announcement of State of Decay 1 and have followed them since. There big claim to fame in my opinion is pricing and the game the created witch is like no other zombie game that you can get for non PC gaming in my opinion.... There pricing of # 1 and 2 was spot on. And I would b ok with a 60 SOD 3 if it has the same jump in quality and game mechanics that we seen from sod 1 to sod 2. It with such a massive upgrade from part 1 and the price was not that much more. It was perfect. Don't get me wrong I still love State of Decay 1 and play it from time to time but there is no denying that gameplay and graphics got extremely better in part 2. So I'm excited and hoping for the best game we have seen in years even if it take 2 more years to get a release date I'm ok with it as long as its a finished game at the end.
Finding it hard to believe we will see something for SoD3, just a couple of months ago they said its in the early pre production stages. Dont get your hopes up.
I’m not sure how much I’d read into that Simon post for SoD3’s dev, Undead Labs just opened the Orlando studio as a UE5 support studio for all of Xbox Game Studios. I’m looking forward to SoD3, but not expecting it to be a Hellblade 2 level graphics powerhouse for a open world survival game.
Guys, anyone from Undead Labs - please please do not set 3 way too far into the apocalypse where zombies aren't really even a threat. It's pretty much the main complaint about Dying Light 2 and any zombie media out there. It needs to stay scary, threatening. Keep zombies the main threat. Not just humans arguing and boring politics.

Begin my journey with xbox, xbox 360 and them made a 180° to go to ps4 community. Then, SOD2 is one the reason that made me came back on XBSX. Whow, miss soo much MS. And this game for me is perfect at...95%. So take your time, make SOD3 up to 98% better. And love so much the console as well.
Would love to be able to turn ANY building into an outpost and then invest materials and man power to upgrade them into mini bases that can be used to store backpacks heal wounds cure blood plague ect . Just like you can at the main base and eventually build a small network of settlements like you do in fallout4 .after all we are supposed to be rebuilding society .
I'm glad they're taking their time with it, considering the problems and failures of SOD2. It's a great sign that they are cautious, I hope their priorities are story and fan satisfaction this time. SOD3 has great potential and success should be important to their studio.
@@aseroxd They can't pull a CD cause 1) they're not overhyping and overselling the game and it's being made with the Unreal 5 engine. 2) Ms has giving them financial backing, support, patience and freedom. So Undead Labs will be fine with SoD3
It had alot of problems like glitching into walls and floors bad lagging also very buggy similar to division when it first came out but for a while now it's been excellent
@@shpooko This is going to be a long reply so bear with me. Biggest problem, they released the game broken and unfinished, it still is broken and unfinished. It's quite buggy and glitchy, some are bad enough you need to close the game or the console/PC. I'm also pretty certain the game cheats but it could just be that it's broken. To some degree Undead Labs listens to the fans, they do it more now than they ever did before but they did ignore criticism briefly. They have been making the game better as time goes on but they shouldn't be making a third SOD yet but it is in the earliest stages of game development. So I just hope they learn from their mistakes and make SOD3 the best State Of Decay. Social Justice is a big problem but now days it only is seen here and there, recently with IzzBee who refers to CLEO as they because she doesn't assume what CLEO (a machine with a female voice) identifies as. Social justice is still seen too often. They once supported the terrorist organization known as BLM, they could have supported the artist without doing such a horrible thing. Spawning of randomly generated characters fall into the social justice category especially early on where nearly every group had spawned the same black guy with little to no appearance changes sometimes names and traits were the same or similar. I once had six of the same dude in my community with only slight changes, three had the same last name and two had the same hair. All the same voice. The biggest social justice issues was when they stated they wanted to more accurately represent America which wouldn't be a bad thing except they chose maps which are small towns and valley's in the middle of no where, in different locations, with completely different demographics with three of the five maps in places with enormous, towering white populations and a small to slim non-white populations. The other two pushing higher percentages of non-white populations but whites are still the majority. They made a huge mistake with that choice then they messed up character spawning for said populations. The second largest issue would be story or lack thereof, they gave us hints to greater stories but that was it, mostly in radio broadcasts. We only recently recieved Heartland and Trumbull Valley which are set in the same location at different times and although they are good, they are not focused enough and are too short nor tell the story of the group the fans want to see, that's the original SOD1 group. They needed to have given us a canonical story with the original group, SOD2 as it is and was, would have been better served as a Breakdown version of the game, which was a long-term play till you lose scenario in SOD1. I liked their idea of four different playable groups but soon after they arrive in the map, their story becomes non-existent. They should have been given canonical stories that play out, each of the four having a different legacy leader with separate stories for us to experience, each in different locations. Each group have different ethnicities so they could have chosen places and stories that go along with it more accurately. Instead of what they chose to do with that subject. That was a rather long reply but I hope I clears things up for you... I have a lot of ideas on what the story should have been, some fleshed out and I could type about it for hours but we ultimately got a broken game that needs to be fixed before we get a third. I just hope they really care about the third game and making it up to the fanbase for their failures on the second.
Lets hope they impliment mobile bases like trains and semi trucks and yachts and the ability to bring along 3 npc survivors and be able to customize there a.i. so they do what they are supose to do insted of fistfight plague jugs
Give me a more hardcore experience. People needing water, food, sleep, more than just morale or status effects or an arbitrary supply thing. Fallout New Vegas style Survival. In depth medical and vehicle systems. Splint the legs and pop the tires. Lethal isn't enough suffering.
I don't WANT the game to be rushed. Please do take your time. Just know that I may be the guy in the home sitting in a wheel chair playing the crap out of it. I want a good game that makes 2 look terrible. Love 2 very much.
I hope in the third game, it will be more focused on the bigger community for example ai controlled bases where the player base can trade or do other stuff, or maybe add a caravan system where it can be attacked by zombies or bandits. The game will focus more on the human conflict instead of the zombie because think about it the world is decaying, the resources are getting scarcer, and must rely on other ai bases to survive together, the horde of zombies is also decaying and they should reduce the number of regular zombies and add more mutated versions. Just like in the series the walking dead wherein the later seasons the conflict is more towards other humans than just zombies.
I mean yeah, I get it making a game takes long. And I rather wait a year longer at a perfect game thn have it a year earlier with bugs and stuff. But it kinde triggered me they released that teaser (or trailer idk) so early then.
I’m actually glad they’re taking their time unlike cod or battlefield, rushed af, sod3 will ACTUALLY be robust and going proper gold. A proper game with Unreal Engine 5 will be massive

I want them to take all the time they need to make it one heckova' game! I mean, would I like to play it in the next couple of months? Of course! But I'll happily wait. 2. I can't afford an Xbox Series X right now anyway... and if these mutha' truckin' scalpers would just stop their idiocy, maybe us regular folk could get their hands on a system... once the chip companies can get back on their feet and get us some more chips!
i mean at this point they're making SoD2 players a labrat for their upcoming game, that works for me, thoroughly enjoying SoD2 and i cant wait for the new update have this game on my game pass but still bought it on steam just in case in the future i decide to cancel my sub, that says a lot.
To be fair I don't mind if they take their time since I'm getting tired of these half baked patch later games that have a massive hype but only prove to be disappointing (looking at halo and the lack of multiplayer content and forge that's a embarrassment to be even called a halo game) overall I can play SOD2 in meantime but I'd say for SOD3 they need to trim down the allies needs, I love their game but man it gets repetitive going to one ally to the next since they can't be bothered looking what's under their noses lol. Like honestly I want to feel like a epic resident evil character, not a survivor that had a job as a uber eat driver pre-apocalypse. Other then the mild inconveniences of hopeless allies the game is perfect, just hope we have more free build though and a fallout cap limit of how many things we can have at a base/settlement.
If you like about it undead labs is working their ass off to make state of decay 2 like perfect and really well rounded I love state of decay but it still just gets really repetitive undead labs always does an amazing job tho
I love undead labs, their commitment to SoD2 has been amazing. I only wonder why you would announce something so soon, with a trailer too? Oh in fact I literally just got it, they did the announcement purely for the next gen console announcements didn't they? :(
I seriously doubt we'll see anything. Also in my opinion; the trailer that we did see a while back, is that it isn't really enough to build hype off of without some sort of gameplay to go along with it. Right now it's purely just a movie, and I don't see it attracting players that know nothing about it, and the trailer we have so far displays nothing to new players. I could be wrong overall
I'm in Trumball Valley with my 300+ day team. Looting the Oasis area. I wonder... If only they'd remove the render limit (somehow) and UL implements my idea of allowing allied enclaves to merge and move to certain spaces... Like that one.
Now, I love our community but be prepared that the game will probably will be a clusterfuck when it comes out. Ambition is great but it causes problems when a game is released.
So is SOD3 still in production for another 5 or more YEAR'S...? SOD2 is played out... Even with the new updates. Everytime I join people online we just do the same thing Everytime.
PLEASE emphasize coop. I would LOVE to play coop with full access and free reign. Allow me to give my friends the ability to upgrade w/ me, more emphasis on helping and not giving. Bigger maps, more vertical progressions, underground stuff, 2nd floor, hell even a 30th for even. I just want more open world... A city focused map (even if it's the biggest) with an outskirt of a countryside would be amazing as 1 map. Or have multiple maps with 1 choice of them all combined to be the biggest map. Idk... I just want open world being more emphasized with COOP.
