I'm a born and bred Queenslander so am of course biased. On paper the Blues may have been the better team on paper and have been in the past however the Maroons (pronounced Marones), play for the jersey, the history, the players that came before them and the fans. The Blues just don't have any heart. In the last few years the Blues have attempted to start trying to teach their players this but really the Blues have to have this in them, it can't be taught it has to be in you. Queenslanders will dig in deep. We scream out QUEENSLANDER and we Bleed Maroon!!!
Gotta give the blues some credit. They played with 12 men against QLDs 13 for more than 70mins of the game after the send off...Scores were close until the 65th minutes when QLD pulled away as blues got tired.
Seems every American loves Walsh and Qld haha. And DCE is Manly Sea Eagles. Also all disrespect to the blues. He got 4 week match man for that tackle, Walsh can't play for 11 days. Addo Carr is also injured.
To be fair, they were a man down. But the on-field leadership was a big difference too. With NSW captain on the bench they threw the kitchen sink at us until they were exhausted. QLD being frenetic played into their hands, so DCE's calming his players to be patient and whether the storm was crucial. The time to enjoy licks of the ice cream would come later in the game under fatigue.

The difference between Queensland and New South Wales is NSW are a team that doesn’t play as a team they play for themselves Queensland play as a team they don’t care who scores as long as they win it’s the greatest time for all Queenslanders we love beating New South Wales
hey mate, this year has been the worst in recent time for injuries, ado carr, Nathan cleary, cameron munster, Bryan papenhauzen and a hundred other guys all have serious injuries .nrl still committed to making the boys play 20-30 games a year with 5-7 days off between games but still want the games to be faster and faster every year

Blues played 73 mins of this game with only 12 men. They scored 2 tries and QLD didn’t score again for 40 mins - essentially half the game. Take that into account and the score line doesn’t reflect how competitive the blues played, despite the massive disadvantage.
Loved your video, very entertaining. Suaalii got a 4 game suspension for that dangerous tackle on Walsh but a lot of fans argue that he didn’t mean it and Walsh slipped down leading to Suaalii hitting him high accidentally. Either way it was really scary watching that, could’ve ended worse.

Just so you American fans know we Queenslanders hate New South Wales. Before State of Origin, in the old Interstate Series, the goal of every First Grade Rugby League player was to wear the Green & Gold, play for Australia. In those days,(prior to 1980) the New South Wales teams, that's the teams located in Sydney N.S.W. had all the money because they had legalized poker machines in their Rugby League Clubs, ( we didn't)so the N.S.W. clubs came up to Queensland and used to buy all our best players. That meant that the Queensland players played for N.S.W. clubs in Sydney. For the Queensland players in Sydney to wear the green & gold they had to don that filthy Blue Jersey of N.S.W. and play against their home State in order to play for Australia. New South Wales used to come up to Queensland with their team half full of Queensland players to destroy their home side. In those days N.S.W.effectively had an Australian side lined up against a Brisbane Club side. NEW SOUTH WELSHMAN thought that was ok, fair & all. And the bastards still do! WE HATE N.S.W. And,(I'm 77 years old & still feel the pain of those floggings N.S.W. gave us all those years ago.)So us old guys instill this feeling in our current NRL Players. DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR N.S.W. They don't deserve to win a game of footy ever!
NSW picked a hard working side & also players that are in peak form for the season which almost mimics QLD selecting style, instead of just star players on paper. That’s why you don’t see Addo Carr & other players. But also QLD are notorious for picking the same players well during the 8 years dynasty they were anyways, regardless on form. This is where the “NSW don’t get origin” comes from. QLD can pick any decent player & they WILL show up & peform win or lose. QLD never gives up, which usually shows them coming back & on top like many times before. In this game it was very unlucky NSW were a man down basically the entire game from the send off which made it very easy for QLD to score points with the extra man. All in all unfortunate match but happy result. GO QUEENSLAND
as a Queenslander im glad we got the win, but i see it as a draw haha. when Walsh got hit, old mate got SENT OFF (which means out for the rest of the game, sin bin means you get 10 mins & then return) so nsw had 12 men basically for 70 mins of the game. so nsw were always going to use that as an excuse, but if we lost we would have never lived it down lol. we will beat them in Melbourne then Brisbane at home game 3 tho ;)

Loving the Americans get involved in league. Truly the best sport in the world although it is on the decline. In case you don’t know this game was 13 v 12 players on the field from the send off. Which is a huge advantage. So send off you’re gone and don’t come back with no replacement and sin bin you’re gone but come back after 10 minutes

The game was over when New South Wales had a player sent off. Queensland are hard enough to beat with 13 against 13 let alone 13 against 12. Go New South Wales in the next game.
At this level every player is elite.. so if you lose a player that early in the game.. it’s pretty much a wrap ..game over… UNLESS your wearing MAROON👊🏾
Sualli is such an overrated dog. He’s cruised off an unearned reputation from when he was in highschool playing a different sport in rugby union. He’s a very good outside back in league. But he’s nowhere near a top 10 player in any position he can play in. It’s fitting that his most famous highlight in the NRL will always be a disgusting dog act.
