Too funny! I have a 1993 60 hp johnson on a pontoon that went out with no spark and I had to tow it back with my jon boat! Thank you for the video! Really helped me figure out how to test and remove the flywheel and stator!!
hate those old one piece stators. In late 83' early 84' OMC upgraded them to the ones previously used on the 9.9/15hp motors starting in 1977. Now you could replace either the charge, sensor or power coils without having to replace the whole thing. every chance I get i swap these old green monsters out for the newer ones.
I did not perform the proper torque procedure that I'm sure is recommended. A couple of short raps with an impact gun and a little blue loctite will do the trick.
@@buildthatboat9129 you put loctite on the threads or the taper? it needs 85 ft/lbs. using an impact like that can easily crack the flywheel, and you will always be way over or under torqued. did the flywheel key last so far? wouldnt trust that to not leave me stranded!
