Why can’t Charon just release a game with a happy ending for once

It can also be in the first ending, sarasa simply alter his memories to gradually overwrite his wife. We see his progression: His wife might be still alive -> he killed his wife -> his wife never existed -> Sarasa is his wife. Of course, that he simply wanted to forget the murder is possible too. But I still think this is one of the open interpretation

This story reads more like the story of Sarasa Kubitori than anything else. _And what a bloody origin story it is!_

The scariest yokai for me has to be some lady giving you a baby to hold for her, which turns out to be a super heavy stone you can't let go of weighing you down. And then, from a nearby river, you see something emerging. It's a giant spider with the head of a cow. And it's going to eat you. But you can't even run away due to the stone you're carrying. I don't know what it is about it, but the imagery paints a terrifying picture in my head.

The 'he actually killed his wife' story could actually be the Kubitori implanting false memories/narrative into the man's mind.

Whenever a Charon game Manly Let's Play is uploaded, I watch.

I agree with you Manly about the endings. After playing Charon's games to get their true ends and then going back to see all endings, I can say with confidence that your choices change the outcome. It's easier and likely safer to not put yourself in the place of the protagonists or the other characters. Think of them all as actors and your choices depict the scripts or twists of where the story goes next. As you put it, each outcome takes place in it's own timeline. Edit: forgot to add the example. The 3 endings here pretty much reflect if ghe protag was either a liar, unfortunate husband, or a monster himself.

I imagine everytime manly is palying a horror game, he is like :"Bun, save the game" "Bun, reload the game" "Bun, restart the game".

When I saw "assault Sarasa" I thought - without question - that it was a 2nd or 3rd playthrough option to kill her, knowing from previous playthroughs that she was going to kill you if you didn't. The turn it took was... So very much darker... I'm really glad it ended with mc dying.

“Kubitori” means “head taker” in Japanese for anyone who wants to know. I looked it up to see if it was actually a creature but it seems only to be in this game.

If you didn't find out: I think Sarasa hypnotized you to believe you killed your wife at the end Manly.

I don't know why, but I'm in love with the music from this game. I'm not even one that usually focuses on a video game's music, but this just gave me so many feelings that I didn't anticipate coming into this video.

I enjoyed this story. I've seen and played some simular anime visual novel thriller-horrors stories where things like in Kubitori usual ends. I rarely came across one that centres the Kubitori as the main character, which is what the story is about.

Didn't she give him some tea? Could have misplaced his memories with that so the first ending kinda makes a little sense, maybe?

_Hopefully not losing your head or heart or both_ Three different stories of the man and yokai - the yokai being not a very nice yokai as you'd guess. *spoilers begin here* First, he is the murderer of his wife and the yokai merely does what she does - kills him after soothing him and wiping his memory of his wife and his guilt. She did him a favor in an odd way. In the second, for the man it was a bird in the hand is worth more than one in the bush. A beautiful woman was there for the taking, except he was the one who got taken. In the third, his wife was murdered by the yokai, just as you would expect in a fable. She took revenge for losing her parents. Maybe deep sadness and the need for revenge makes you a yokai. And enjoyable tale of a powerful woman, narrated well. You are right MBH - don't travel alone.

After binging all the charron games manly played I can safely say that if it isn't trying to be philosophical, there most likely isn't a good end in sight. Doesn't help that half of them are like manly said dislocated from one and another (choices wise) literally the game manly played the MC dies to a steel beam that suddenly changes to a flower pot. It was very draining to see how we came so far from happy being "boring" to "spin the wheel for torture".

Omg an upload!! Y'know, I woke up at 2 AM with infuriating stomach pain and a clusterheadache. I haven't been able to sleep because of it. Been laying in a fetal position with a heat pack on my stomach ever since. It's nearly 6 AM now. Your videos - despite being horror games - help me relax and sometimes even sleep. I like the artstyle and story of these games, but I feel like the cliché of 'Cute seductive anime girl is actually psychopath that instantly kills you once you get attached' is getting a tad bit old. I much prefer abstract horror games, something unique and interesting. The whole point of horror is to scare or unsettle you, and these Yandere games; while successful in creating engaging or intriguing stories at times, fail at meeting the expectations of a true 'horror' game. Or maybe I'm just dumb and just enjoy the kawaii energy. Though this goes for most horror media, I kind of hate how all these games never get good endings, sometimes you wanna see the protag succeed yknow?

YES! I found your channel from seeing your videos where you play charon games in my recommended and since then I became a big fan of yours I'm always ready for a new charon video!!!

It's probably closer to Menherafflesia where each "route/ending" is a different narrative of the character, like how in that game, one route had him as a worker with Ivy, another had him as a bar-goer with Ayumi, etc., with completely different personalities It's probably that in one route he actually was a killer and tried to cover his tracks and used the wife story as an alibi, while in the other he was genuinely searching for his wife, so the ending choice determines the character's personality/narrative

Man, that girl looks really really really really familiar. Almost like she’d be the typical romcom tsundere character with a flat chest that my boy Ishigami from Kaguya Sama: Love is War described.

The real question is, why exactly didn't the villagers try to do the smart thing and relocate? You're on a barren mountain with no food, with unending daily blizzards, *AND* there's a supposed demon infestation. Just leave. Even if half of the population dies in the process, it would still be a net positive in the grand scheme of things.
