Also subbed for some upcoming handheld news in the future 🤙🏻 I’ve kinda set my heart on the steam deck but if the steam os makes it on a possible smaller third party devices this year then I might be open for a u turn, lol. I just can’t be doing with windows anymore tbh

@liamback.mp4 thanks so much! Steam OS is definitely really nice from a convenience perspective. I know Valve have plans to make it available for other platforms but who knows how long it’ll actually take for that to become a reality.

What you can do is in the rog ally make one of the back buttons as xbox button and lauch steam on launch in Big Picture Mode, it essentially becomes a steam deck. With the added bonus you can play any game. Also you can debloat windows using Atlas OS(not an iso, but a patch you install on windows, preferable a fresh install)

That’s true, good point! Big picture is pretty nice. Just a few extra steps over steam os. But not bad at all.

Uhh, you can simply, and I repeat, simply, download and install Steam on any PC, and you can easily set it to start on every reboot. Why change your entire OS just to not be able to play all available PC games? I don't see the point.

@@danhle1032 Pretty much negligible, the Steam Deck's battery life depends more on the weaker custom AMD APU designed with efficiency in mind, and since it was first to market, it's pretty much becoming obsolete, as far as AAA gaming goes.

Steam Client and Steam OS are not the same thing ;) You can have the same Steam Interface on PC in Big Picture Mode (and use the controller). Steam OS is much more than how you interact with your library... just saying :P

You’re absolutely right, it’s an Arch distro at its core. So it’s definitely much more than the interface. But the experience of buying a deck to playing your first game is so smooth and seamless 🫡

I actually kept my Steam Deck Oled and returned my Asus Ally, since the Oled does exactly what I need it to do: more time to play, an Oled screen plus none of the fuff of having Windows to navigate :D If I want more than 30-45 fps and higher settings... I could be bothered to grab my laptop or play on my desktop when I get home, but the Deck oh man... It is all I want it to be... reliable!

DUDE AGREED THEY NEED TO MAKE IT AS SIMPLE AS INSTALLING WINDOWS THOU AS LONG AS I CAN STREAM BROWS AND READ AND WATCH SHOWS AND MOVIES AND IT ALLOW PLUGINS I THINK YOU KNOW WHICH ONES I DONT WANT TO BE FORCED TO SIGN IN TO MY PC IF YOUR USING IT TO PLAY YOUR STEAM GAMES OF COURSE YOUR GOING TO SIGN INTO YOUR GAMING ACCOUNT BUT TO FORCE YOU TO USE A PASSWORD TO SIGN INTO YOUR DEVICE ITS STUPID OF COURSE BEING ABLE TO USE EPIC TO HELL WE ALL WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY ATLEAST 10 TO 20 DOLLARS TO GET A COPY AS LONG AS IT WORKS IM GOOD JUST DONT FUCK WITH US AND SELL EVERYTHING ABOUT US
