@@MyWillBeDone omg bn1 was the WORST internet to navigate. Everything looks the same. The best decision they made was to give each region/area it's own theme from bn2 onwards.
Skinner moving forward 1 frame between closing the custom screen and before activating the Steamed Clams PA is probably the most subtle MMBN thing in this video and i really liked it
Tony Hakston Using chips/PAs like that stops time, but only when you use it. So if you wanna start a turn with one while the enemy is in position, which happens often, you’ll start the turn and then press A, and the game will likely advance some frames before the button press registers, meaning time will start and immediately stop again.
I didn't even think about that but I noticed it this time. You know for a damn fact this person played a lot of MMBN to move exactly one frame after starting.
TheTricksterTroller Dialog animations, Fireman Oven, Overpriced HP Upgrades, Geddon3 sucking so bad it can be obtained easily, Combo Chips, battle. perfect meme
You can tell this was done by a fan. So many references that only a person who played the series would get. I love how Seymour reflexively goes for the life sword combo. I loved seeing the Magnum vr 1 chip slipped in there (best chip art of any game). Reflexively trying to buy HP memory ups only to be too broke. And the last few seconds brought me back to the most hellish but stat rewarding aspect of the game. Amazing
@@revolvingworld2676 They probably have a standard netnavi. I could understand that being the case for his mom but considering his dad's circumstances, you'd think he would have a custom netnavi
I like how you made the screen black when the characters tried to do something "complicated" or "detailed" like changing clothes or doing some sort of move that isn't walking. It truly feels like Battle Network.
I don't even know what to say. The amount of love and care behind this level of effort and attention to detail is completely ridiculous. Excellent work. Right down to the EnergyChange gag at the end.
What made this among the best of all Steamed Hams memes was the little details, like pining for that HP Memory and mashing B to get out of the shop screen instead of selecting "No". Felt like the good old days
The amount of niche joy that this version of my favorite meme gives me, all while being totally unable to share this with anyone I know, is indescribable
fluffy_tail 3:27 When he’s about to use the PGADV and he actually time lapses a 1/10 of a second into the battle before it activates just like actual BN3. WOW
@@KesorodaBlk It's an even funnier detail when BN4-6 just had the custom screen vanish instantly and the screen didn't move, this guy had to *deliberately* move the screen to make it emulate 3 instead. A detail that was wholly unnecessary for the effect, but is very much appreciated as a detail on top of 3's music.
In the first game, the first mission is to stop your oven from catching on fire... And the song in 4:57 is "Fire Field", the theme from the oven stage... This, is just genious.
NY Stge is OP honestly. Not only does it double the power of lying type chips, if your opponent doesn't have enough Zennys for the absurd rent they get hit with DoT. Surprised the superintendent was unaffected.
By megaman standards hell yes even thou they sold damn well... they never are on top gba lists or remembered as classics. I prefer them over regular megaman games since i love rpgs
...It just now occured to me... The attack that left Seymour with 1 HP? It wasn't just a joke about the lie being blown. Check the NaviCust at the end, he really did have UnderShirt installed.
God, I really don't care for this steamed hams meme but this was pure nostalgic beauty for me. 0:04 - Okay who HASN'T done that? I love that so much. 0:40 - FireMan.EXE messing up the oven. 0:57 - A throwback to some of the "action cutscenes" the game devs didn't actually want to animate. Would usually involve a fade to black like this. 1:09 - "SprIntd" at the top right. At the start of battle you can see the enemy names at the top right of the screen. If they're really big they get chopped down like this, so you get "SprIntd" instead of "Superintendent". 1:10 - Oooh god, the moment that popped up I was instantly in love with this. Such a faithful recreation of Battle Network gameplay. ~ADDITIONAL NOTE ABOUT THIS SCENE~ In Battle Network you could only select more than one chip if all the chips shared the same code, or had the same name (for example you could select a bunch of K chips, or you could select multiple "StmdClam" chips even if they had different letter codes). Asterisk-chips are wildcards that can disobey these rules, that's why all the other cards went black when he selected the StmdClam chip, but not the Atk+10. 1:36 - And certain chip effects froze time for a moment while they activated, so chips like these couldn't be interrupted or dodged. They also darkened the scenery like shown here. 1:42 - And I am SUPER impressed that you kept an eye on making sure the Custom Gauge was also operating as per normal. ~ADDITIONAL NOTE ABOUT THE CUSTOM GAUGE~ In battle you could only enter the Chip Select screen if this Custom Gauge was full. It would have a randomly chosen set of 6 chips for you to pick from which carry over as long as they remain unused, so if you want to see new chips you have to use or discard some. Alternatively you could hit the "ADD" button if you didn't select any chips, and the next time the screen opened there would be MORE than six (I believe just +1 but I could be wrong). 1:46 - OH! That victory music! Good times... 2:15 - "Tasty (?)". Rofl. 2:58 - Aaah, that Battle-Network 3 Boss Music... One of my favorites. And I love how the superintendent just materializes in his chair the way boss characters would materialize onto the field. 3:17 - ANOTHER EXPLANATION: If you selected certain chips in a specific order they could combine to create a "Program Advance", a way stronger effect than all the chips together. You'd be notified if you did it correctly in this manner before the battle starts after you exit the Chip Select screen. Naturally it could be very difficult to actually put a Program Advance into your chip folder considering the chips have to have the same letter code (or be asterisk chips). 3:37 - I know that's just how it played out, but I love the fact that he uses his last chip as soon as the custom gauge is full. Reminds me of how I'd try to use up the chips in my hand before I went back to chip select (because you'd lose them if you went back to chip select without using them first). 4:26 - I fucking LOST it at this bit. Going for the LifeSword PA, checking the enemy's HP (he didn't actually leave chip select. You can press a button while in chip select to temporarily hide it and show you the field again, including enemy HP, in case you need to plan), and then cancelling for an Escape instead. (LifeSword is a strong program advance. Just a nice big sword slice across nearly the entire enemy stage. Hard to miss. Big damage). 5:09 - LavaStage. Lmao. Oh, man. Thank you so much. Good memories...
T hanks for sharing this. Never have done the first one believe it or not! But after going to the times you listed I noticed a few things I missed when first watching. Good eye and made me appreciate this video that much more. BN series is amazing
Can you clarify though. Can you use an escape in a boss battle and escape. That's the only thing I don't think you can do in one. I know you can't run but I don't think I've ever tried to use escape in one before.
@@ImFangzBro assuming he hit though. Far as I remember life sword doesn't guarantee a hit. Has to be within two rows from Megaman if I remember correctly.
Try getting the HomrRmpg chip. That's the hardest chip to get in the game. Fun Fact: HomrRmpg chip reappeared as a battle card in StarForce as a Giga Class card.
Makes you realize all the freaking efforts in the making of the video when you see not just the attention to detail, but that it's also even in 60 fps.
Hahaha i remembwr seeing this meme pre-MMBN and i didnt think much at first other than lovely editing because i never olayed the collection, but now after playing the collection, the details, effort and pacing of this meme are even more beautiful than i expected! Surprised you're not bigger than me tbh!!
And it makes sense that he didn't use it as Chalmers would have still have 20 hp and Skinner was at 1. Wait. HOLY SHIT HE WAS AT 1 BECAUSE OF UNDRSHRT, AND IS WEARING AN UNDERSHIRT.
Little late, but this was an AMAZING version of steamed hams. Honestly I think this is hands down my favorite one. I loved the quality of editing, the way you implemented many aspects of MMBN into the meme, and laughed hard at the LifeSrd1 reference. Well done. Even keeping the codes the same that you'd find in the game was good. It looks like it's pulled from the actual game and edited from there, but either way still well done. Since the game was titled Steamed Hamwork 3, LifeSwrd would have done 400 HP of damage and won the fight still. However, in Battle Transmission, it only does 200 and would have left Chalmers with 10HP, enough to counterattack Skinner against his 1HP. On the contrary, all 3 swords combined do 240 damage if not advanced, so even in NT, this still would have killed Chalmers if this didn't advance. Although if you consider the fighting style of the BN games and the like, you're more likely to take a hit waiting for the cooldown of the i-frames the enemy has when you hit them with an attack that's not your buster so.. I guess I'm just reading into this way too much because I loved the BN series and this was a good callback to my childhood.
Late reply, I know. I Just wanted to say that although being an expert on how much damage life sword does may not give you any points in real life, I am impressed and inspired by your attention to detail. MM:BN 3 was the best. Have a good day.
@@micahfurman6511 Thanks for noticing~! I loved typing out that entire thing as it let me think back of when I played those games, both how fun and infuriating it was. Having someone notice was a nice bonus too!
@@karanoelle4819 well, I don't know enough people who share a nostalgia for the BN series. I loved the games so much as a child that it's likely that a portion of my personality was shaped by it. I replayed BN3 a dozen times but since the games weren't super popular it felt like I was the only person who knew such precise details about the game. Glad to know that this video and your comments have proved me wrong.
my only long standing issue with the series is I always REALLY wished it had been intended as a prequel to the Classic MM series, rather then a parallel universe. It just would have fit so well.
I hope your parents know how much of a treasure you are. You didnt have to do the Life Sword program advance sequence at all but still did it. Such conviction....
You can tell this was made by someone who really really loved the MMBN series. All the selection movements feels so organic and even the littlest detail like 3:24 was not skipped out on.
Grew up with The Simpson's and Battle Network. I'd never thought I'd see them in a meme video together. Why is this just now showing up in my recommended videos?? Anyways, great job.
This is perfection: -The dialogue with the subtle blinking. -The battle scenes (especially the red/blue panels in the kitchen scene). -The shop and Navi Cust. -The chips and Life Sword reference. Everything was outstanding and perfectly executed! I love it!
This needs more views. Honestly one of the best niche adaptations of this meme I’ve ever seen. All the details are amazing. The text, battle scenes, UI, sound design, scenario. Perfection.
If you think about it... Zenny, like Pokedollars and Bells, are supposed to be equivalent to yen (100 JPY = $1.00 USD, is the general rule of thumb). So those are some damn expensive KrstFrys that Seymour bought (750Z -> $7.50 USD), while apparently Krusty Burger is literally giving away Geddon3s.
"Seymour! The Internet is on fire!" It's like I'm actually playing BN3. Even right down to the story-linked NaviCust parts that were among the worst ideas ever.
Infinite Lightnin I don’t think that’s what he meant He meant like the navi programs you had to install like the Press program to shrink you down to walk down those tiny paths, and the energy charge program to put out the fires on the net and what not in order to progress the story (which would take up space for other programs you could be using)
The only way to make this better would be to make the sprite animation in the style of the games. But darn it, I laughed. Well done. I love how when Skinner gave a thumbs up the "item get" sound was played.
Surprised I didn't see anyone comment on it, but at the start of the first fight, you can see the kitchen tiles are colored red and blue. Astounding touch.
I want an alternate ending where he actually uses the LifeSword, even if it's just a cut to black with sound. It's too perfect. You need to do more such videos. The quality is nothing short of stellar and so is the attention to detail.
I was planning an easter egg where if you clicked OK, Skinner would have used LifeSword and I guess -kill- delete Chalmers? I didn't know where I would have gone beyond that, but that idea got scrapped because I remembered that RU-vid killed off annotations last year (rip)
