TheFriskiestFrisk all Persona protagonists have a designated option that shows who they are. Persona 3's protagonist always had a moody angsty option, Persona 4's always had a slightly clueless option, and, well, this version had Aurora Borealis
"Why is there smoke coming out of the oven, Chie?" "Uh--Oh, that isn't smoke, that's steam. Steam from the steamed clams we're having with the cake! Mmm.. Steamed clams!"
@@astronights Chie once gave Yukiko chocolate-covered meat, and Yukiko gave the folks at Amagi Inn chocolate-covered raw scallops, so that's not far off.
@@EpicMinecraftFailin Vanilla P4 the text fades-in while in Golden it appears almost immediately. The textboxes are also smaller in Vanilla P4 than Golden.
"All you care about is having a good luncheon, even if it means you will have to LIE YOUR ASS OF!! You would even risk burning down your house, and even endangering your mother to a FIERY DEATH!!" Skinner: SHUT UP!! YOU'RE NOT ME!!!
@@basilknuckles4365After Battle... Skinner: “I understand now... I saw and experienced things in Vietnam that left me scarred. Left me questioning what’ll be next when I came home. I went to Agnes just to let her know that her real son’s been KIA but... I just didn’t have the heart to break hers’. I saw a life that was worth a damn in front of me and I didn’t want to come back to my old life, so I adopted my mentor’s identity to fulfil his dreams of being a school principal in Springfield Elementary to become apart of that new life...” *Insert party member saying the guy’s name in a thoughtful tone...* Skinner: “I may not be the best there is and I’ve been desperate to get the Super Intendant’s approval to the point of having to make up Steamed Hams because my roast was ruined but I tried damn it! At least it’s better than the life I would have lived as a veteran of a war that our ever so “gracious” politicians pinned the blame on when it didn’t go over well with the public... I don’t want to ever go back to my old life because this one I’m living right now? It’s given me something to aspire for, even if it includes your Barts and Willies but I wouldn’t give it up now and I won’t ignore my past any more. I am you and you are... Me.”
Princess Maria "D-DEAD BODIES?! AT THIS TIME OF YEAR, AT THIS TIME OF DAY, IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY, LOCALISED ENTIRELY IN THE TELEVISIONS?!" "Yes!"
Dude, how did I not find this earlier?! It's so freaking good! The dialogues advancing as if a player were reading it, the courage check, the animated cutscene style segment, the HUD, the music, it all just combines into one smooth product. 10/10
Ive yet to get past lvl 1 in Chalmers social link. This video convinced me to start a new playthrough! He always came off as boring. It was between him and Neds social link. But Ned gets you the 'nothing at all' skill. Real useful on very hard.
Aaagh I should have made it more immersive by taking out Skinner's voice and making the text say stuff like "you greet the superintendent in hopes that this will be an unforgettable luncheon"
The pause followed by the drop from 4:03 to 4:13 is a masterpiece. The fact that you even synced it up so it would reach that part of the song by the decision before "aurora borealis" is simply amazing. This is when memes become art.

Love the attention to detail in this. Steamed hams is still one of the greatest memes to ever exist, and this is a fantastic reason why. High effort, and painstakingly well made. Great post
The fact that the "stretching" scene switched to 16:9 ratio (could say it "stretched" the video, lol) and acted out as if it was a full cutscene, rather than in-game dialogue is really cool and funny to me
Having watched this, then bought & played about 15 hours of Persona 4, I can confirm that this is incredibly accurate to the game and also fucking hilarious. Also the musical stings are incredibly timed.
This is the best thing I have seen in years. I genuinely laughed like I haven't in a long time. Congratulations. You brightened up a shitty year for some random person going through a tough time somewhere in the world. Thank you.
This is extremely funny and well done, but there's just one little detail that you left out that would have made this perfectly like Persona 4. When he goes to check on the roast, you should have only had his voice say "oh egods", "but what if..." and "hohoho" while making us read the rest on our own
A tad late for this, but only thing I feel wrong is that Seymour actually says the lines instead of just skipping to after he line was said like the games. Very good job with the video!
I hope you get many more views my good sir. This music brings me back and makes me cry from the memories. Nothing can replace the small town feel of Persona 4. Don't get me wrong Persona 5 was amazing and had better gameplay, but Persona 4 was amazing in SPITE of its repetitive combat and dungeons. You just did not get the same personal stories in the confidants in Persona 5. Persona 4 had very human and relatable problems like dealing with death or having a stepmother. Persona 5 had too much big city emphasis to feel as personable. It also did not have as much flavor text explaining the situation between dialogue which was amusing at times. Anyway that's my story.
"Due to your lightning quick wit, you were able to avoid a confrontation." Wait, why does this increase diligence? I'd have expected expression or something. I love the fact that Aurora Borealis is one of the choices during each of the decision trees though.
One the best Steamed Hams edits I've seen! The music cues and the post dialogue pauses made it feel like a real Persona game. Excellent job, keep it up!
