I told myself no sewing and no lace in this one- accomplished the first part, but cheated a little on the last! Join me for a flip through of my Steampunk Journal. It was so much fun to make! Contact me: trtlodolce@yahoo.com

What a fabulous journal. Me and my granddaughter are making steam punk journals and we will certainly be looking to this book for lots of inspiration. You did a great job and we certainly appreciate someone like yourself sharing such great work. Thank you.
Well I can’t deny it’s cute and there is a lot of work in it but in all that there’s maybe a dozen or so complete sheets of paper to journal on. It’s like scrapbooking in journal style with a couple of places to write. I guess when I think of a journal I think of plenty of pages to write on. When I get started writing I can fill up a half dozen pages at once. More if my handwriting is bad that day. I think I might have ordered that Creative Box you have. It had a lot of railroad stuff, tickets, more stamps than I can use in a lifetime and other things. I think I kept a couple of pieces from it, don’t remember where they are, gave the rest away. But to me a journal is a tool to use for maybe writing down events of the day, taking notes on a bible study I’m listening to or sometimes just random thoughts and ideas. Sometimes it takes a while to fill one and I get nervous if I don’t have some blank replacements ready to choose from. But I think I will pass on making journals of my own since the types I’m seeing on the internet don’t seem to fit my lifestyle and needs. But you definitely did a neat job on it. Thanks for sharing!!
Yes I understand that…. Junk Journaling for me is more about the creative process versus the journaling… I have plain journals that I mostly journal in.
This is such an exquisite journal! Absolutely perfect and fascinating in every way. The detail and wonderful creativity is amazing. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece.
Just found you by chance. Wowee, what a fantastic journal! Love your style. Very inventive and clever techniques. Really enjoyed your video & will look for more. You have a great way of explaining & showing your work in a very clear & nice way. TFS!
Just found you and I have to say, as much as I was drawn in by the unique cover, the inside just continued to "Wow" me with all of your creative and inventive ways of producing a most beautiful end result! So many surprises and delightful "dives" of discoveries! Truly blown away! I also love the theme woven into what I would label vintage/steampunk! New subby! Must return to go back over all your excellent ideas! BRAVO!!! 👏💖🤗
Omg the amount of detail in this journal is amazing, this deserves so many more views! And that middle part is to die for.. Stunning! It's like a whole other journal in on itself haha, really fantastic. I'm not even into steam punk myself but you totally made me want this journal haha 😁👍
OMG😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 The is the coolest journal I have ever seen😍😍😍 YOU are Amazing!!!👏👏👏👏 I just found your channel so I hope I will find out more about how you made it😍 it is stunning 😍👏👏👏👏 lots of love from arctic Norrway 🙌🌺🏵🌼🌹🌻
Renee when I saw this journal on Facebook I loved it - now I have seen it "in person" so to speak I REALLY love it! It is so beautiful, you have done such a good job xx
Really love the way you put this togather! Super cool! How long does it take to make something like that? And house many dollars get wraped up on a project like that. I need to know if I have to talk to my banker! Lol! ❤
lol! Thank you! Depending on how much time I have to craft these journals can take me anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. And they can get as expensive (or not) as you want… you can use miscellaneous items you have around the house or go out and buy a bunch of stuff. I’m trying to use materials I already have (which is a substantial amount!) most of which I’ve gotten at garage sales, thrift stores, clearance sales, etc…
I really enjoyed your journal. So much fun. I am looking for inspiration for my journal I am starting using a gorgeous kit from Artzology. You have lots ! LOL. Is lace and sewing not a "thing" in steampunk?
Thank you!! You can do whatever you Like with steampunk… I think with this journal I was just trying something different… the journal before I used a lot of lace and sewing so this one I went the opposite direction…
I love your journal! It's really beautiful. Steam Punk is one of my favorite kinds of imagery. One question... what are the copper dots called? I want to order some. 😊
@@marianaya5824 yes the regular round ones are called brads but some of the ones I used in this journal had little teeth all around the back of the dome and not two flaps on the back like brads. Those are the metal domes.
Each junk journal is different- sometimes I sew them in, sometimes I use elastic so I can remove pages, sometimes I sew directly into the spine so the string shows on the outside and other times I sew into a floating spine which I then insert to the spine of the book so the threads or string don't show on the spine. Just depends what I'm in the mood for or how I want the journal to look! This one I think I sewed the signatures to a piece which I then attached to the spine of the book so the signature string/threads didn't show (If I remember correctly!)
No I don't have a tutorial on the middle signature- I'll see if I can get one together for you! The monocle- I glued a gear on and then used Inkssentials (by Ranger) Glossy Accents to fill in the middle.
