After coming from spending an hour trying to remove the seat because I don't have a long-handle screwdriver, now I'm stuck on removing the cylinder because I don't have a pipe wrench. Are these items that average people are expected to have? I don't actually need to remove the cylinder (not doing a return), but I need to replace the base, and it seems like there is no option except to remove the cylinder first. Edit: I said "f it" and just bought a long handle screwdriver set and a pipe wrench to be delivered in the morning. It means I'll have to miss some work because I won't have a functioning chair until then (I'm kind of afraid to touch it right now because it's already damaged some of my furniture tonight...), but hopefully once I habe the right tools I can revisit it and get the base swapped out as intended.
Are you just removing the base? if so there isn't a need to remove the seat. You should be able to remove the base with this instructional video.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oX6klEf_okk.html
Just curious, how large is the box to pack the leap v2 chair? I haven't bought from your company specifically as I am far away (in Australia) and moving to another country in a couple months. The disassembly videos are great, so I have opted to follow your methods but would be helpful to know the size of the package box so it can be safely moved eventually. Thank you!!
Some tips for others. I followed along with the unboxing video and pressed down on the seat as instructed, and the gas cylinder/chair height seemed to keep its position, but after sitting in it for the first half hour or so it rose all the way to the top. I had a hell of a time depressing that white seat tab to remove the seat and had to order a longer screwdriver. From this Crandall video about disassembling the chair to return it, I saw the screwdriver they were using was made by Klein, and since they had it next to a hammer I own I could tell the screwdriver was about 14" long. After some research I ordered it from Amazon. It's Klein Tools 605-10 (but is also sold in a set with an equivalent Phillips head screwdriver as Klein Tools 85072). I still had a hard time releasing the seat just from watching this video, but another video here from a competitor helped: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BacozvEHmz8.html Most importantly, it said to push the seat all the way back first before trying to pry that seat release button. That's what (finally) helped me succeed in removing the seat, and since I was alone and dealing with the polished aluminum frame version of the Leap V2 (heavy) this video was great for the way they had the chair leaning on a table and letting gravity drop the chair seat out). (I did the same, leaning it on my bed as in the video, but I put a pillow under so the seat wouldn't fall to the floor.) Next I had to adjust the gas cylinder, and the unboxing video from Crandall Office Furniture was good about telling me left or right for tightening or loosening. (The included sheet didn't, I guess that's because it covers one of three possible gas cartridges you might end up with.) Anyway, it's fixed and keeping its adjusted position, but these tips helped me immensely, so I'm sharing them here in case others find them useful as well.
Don't know who you've been dealing with but I just got a leap V2 for less than £400 off 2nd hnd. The one they originally sent didn't have 4d arms or back support but when I messaged them about it they sent me another with everything I asked for, couldn't be happier with it.
@@CrandallOfficeFurniture It might be because I was attaching a link to a photo I uploaded... let me try another. i.postimg.cc/rsvSW1ns/IMG-3006.jpg This piece fell out while I was disassembling the chair to clean and I have no idea where it belongs. Please help 🙏
Did you buy this chair from us? also does your height adjustment lever still work? after talking with our chair techs it looks like it came from your height adjustment lever area if you can send more pictures to contact@crandalloffice.com we would love to help clarify if that is indeed the case.
"cancel the above statement" after further investigation it actually is a part that is from underneath the seat pad, it has to do with the seat adjustment, not sure how it would of fallen out though all of the seat pad components would of had to of been removed. Please call us at 616-682-0110 and we should be able to answer any questions and help you be able to possibly fix the issue
