@@Ezullof yeah. Sometimes I wish there was an option to jump into the view of the lead scientist or admiral of your ships so you could see the game from a more intimate angle. Someone just needs to make an FPS/RPG that's purely about exploring a cluster of the falaxy and discovering the wonders and horrors there in with no big bad to deal with.

This is why the game needs some sort of internal political system to make out empires feel alive. I want to see scenes like the crew looking at the leviathan, the robot becoming self aware and starring at itself, the aliens adopting the human children, etc. Wouldn’t it be so cool to see every empires reaction to you blowing up a planet?

"The Galaxy. Trillions of Stars." Game melts my computer when simulating a one thousand stars galaxy unless I put it in the freezer. Edit: Even then, the game drops to 5 FPS after a few in-game decades. I can probably take a shower and go for food and the game will still be counting the same month I left after I come back despite running ath the highest speed.

sounds like you need a better cooler if its overheating your pc man But can you imagine a 5000 star galaxy in the pre-2.0 system where you could choose your drive type? Man that game was something else. Had to abandon it because it was on my laptop and it was getting absurdly laggy, but my pc would be able to handle running it decently. And if you're wondering how i managed to do that? I did it myself. Making new map sizes is ludicrously easy, or at least it was when i last did it. Literally make a new text file in the maps folder, copy and paste the text from one of the other map sizes into it, and alter accordingly. 10/10 would purge again

In my headcanon galaxy, those aliens helping/saving the humans are humans that have been touched by The Worm, so to me it looks like Solaris humans helping refugees from the Dominion of Man (my version of the Commonwealth), which is almost as touching.

I constantly come back to this trailer, mostly for the scene at 1:11, the idea of these people finding a new home in the arms of an alien world, being welcomed and watered, a new life awaiting them. It makes me wish that refugees in Stellaris were treated with more importance. Their world occupied and being stripped of all its resources and population, an underground railroad forms, trafficking the brave souls who wish to make the journey to friendlier lands. A shining beacon of peace and prosperity where the worries of war are far behind. Where a new start can be made. As it stands now, it's just disappointing, a few pops may come from the planet, and they will be a bit happier for a while, but beyond that there's almost nothing to it.

I had a smaller fleet smaller empire but was more advanced as the aggressor so declared war 2 times to retake the systems the ally empire lost you can actually liberate lost worlds so these refugees could return home

Oddly enough, games where you kill non-humans tend to have a lower rating. Carmageddon, for example, turned random pedestrians on the street into zombies with green blood or robots with black oil just to get released in certain regions, and other games have resorted to having aliens with non-red blood as well. Because apparently gore is a big problem if it has red blood and comes from humans. On the other hand, In Stellaris you just see spaceships battling each other, so even though you are committing death and destruction, you aren't really seeing it.

Love how far this game has come since the beginning. Beautiful, the sci-fi has really allowed Paradox to exert their creativity in the wonderful Grand Strategy, can't wait to see where it goes. Maybe one day I'll complete a game in the three years I've played of it.

Was here almost from day 1. It's been a hell of a ride, and I have to say. With my childhood of spore and trying to play a few other space strategy games I knew what I wanted but no game really accomplished in giving me that in an intuitive and fun way, or lacked a lot of elements and story devices entirely that made them enjoyable. Stellaris was exactly what I wanted, and was delivered beautifully. With every dlc it feels like money well spent. Thank you Paradox, for 3 years of wonder, replayability, and empire building joy
