If you were about to travel to another planet and be allowed to take only one bass with you: the Stenback - especially this one - would be a good or even the best choice!
I wasn't familiar with Stenback before seeing you play on one. This bass really sounds great on your videos. I'm not sure how to describe what I hear... but I feel it sounds "rough" and "raw" in the best possible meaning of those words
That is a good description of the sound and feel of this bass. I had well over 100 basses and thought that I never would find ‘the One’. But this one is it!
Sounds incredible... and what AMAZING playing! What are you plugged into, and how is it set (software and/or hardware) please? Also, what strings are on it... almost sounds like you have bridge mutes lightly on there, but I think it's a combination of the strings, and mostly of how you're playing it.
Thank you! Dunlop Marcus Miller nickel strings. Thru a Bassics BPA1 preamp. Into the UAD Twin. Into Logic Pro X. The strings are as bright as a piano. The muting is with my fingers.
Thanks, they resemble each other a lot. A vintage jazz bass vibe. Quality is great with all 3 the brands although there are stories about inconsistent quality with alleva. I had 2 and they were good.

Hi, I don’t own them all 😬. To me the Stenback is the best bass for me ever. It has a dry, punchy, snappy sound that has a perfect place in a mix. Like a great vintage fender, but in 5 string. But then without flaws. I noticed that the more you work with graphite strips, better bridges etcetc the further you go away from a Fender. Stenback found the right compromise between new tech en vintage sound. And I had it all…but this is it.
@@Roogbass great response thank you. I believe those graphite rods might be the secret sauce, as they provide rigidity that is translated to feel and note definition. Please check my guitars.
