'STEP BACK TO THE 1940'S' AT THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY. 7th JULY 2019

With six locomotives in steam, and 7325 'dead' plus any number of exhibits, stalls and re-enactors, there was something for everyone. This video was shot on the final day of the two weekend event when, fortuitously, the sun shone. I took the camera, by train, from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster and back during which time all the locomotives were 'spotted' and the scenes at the two termini were captured.

its also the first time for 75069 and 6960 to run on the seven valley railway together since they were both resident here back in the 1990s

Have not attended this agent for a while due to unexcetable over crowding on services however it's a great time of the trains thanks for the chance to see what going on

Excellent captures, thanks Alan, and great fun from start to finish. As well as at the individual stations, a lot of effort had obviously gone into the Kidderminster activities... full marks to the spiv! One question, having never been to the station in Kidderminster (only a visit to a carpet factory in the early 70s!), what is the significance of 'Weirwold'? Kind regards, Bob.

It maybe to do with filming taking place on the Severn valley shortly. Arley if you noticed is in southern green with the name Ferndell

Many thanks for the suggestion. Out of interest, I did a search on Weirwold station and 'Little Weirwold' in 'Goodnight Mister Tom' (1998) was in fact Arley. A similar search for Ferndell returned references only to an American film. We'll have to wait and see...

WELL NOT SO 194X'S AS CLAIMED AS LOCO 1501 ENTERED SERVICE AT OLD OAK COMMON DEPOT ON 31 JULY 1949 WHEN THE 194X'S WERE ALMOST OVER AND 75069 ENTERED SERVICE AT DOVER DURING 1955, BUT 6960 ENTERED SERVICE IN MARCH 1944, BUT WAS NOT NAMED TILL JUNE 1947 AS RAVENINGHGAM HALL, SO DID OT SEE MUCH OF THE 194X'S AS IT IS NOW !!.

WELL JEFF I HAVE LOST BOTH LOWER LEGS AND CAN NOT GET N H S PROSTHETICS OR A MOTOR WHEELCHAIR DUE TO CUTS. I GOT NO URGENTLY NEEDED FUNDS FOR PRIVATE TREATMENT ON CROWDFUNDING, YET GEOFF GOT NON URGENT £38,O0O FOR FREE UK RAIL HOLIDAYS AT THE PUBLICS EXPENSE - OUT OF ORDER. I WAS MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY ABUSED BY FATHER TAKING IT OUT ON ME FOR HE BEING INJURED ON A MINE IN 2ND WAR. CONSULTANTS CONFIRM THAT THE RESULTING TRAUMA STRESS AND HYPERTENTION ECT CAUSASED BAD CIRCULATIONN AND THE AMPUTATIONS. BUT DESPITE THE GOVERNMENT UNLAWFULLY ROBBING ME OF MY MOBILITY, I CAN GET NO URGENTLY NEEDED HELP OR FUNDS TO REGAIN MY STOLEN MOBILITY.
