great Job DeShon, used this as a baseline for another project involving oil well royalties for clients' investments across multiple drilling projects. You saved me!

Awesome! Glad it helped. I'm starting to look into this concept with power pages. Once I'm confident with the power pages solution, I'll post my findings.

Thanks a lot for your video. It's very helpful to use 100% SharePoint.

This was extremely helpful. As a complete beginner on this project, I'm scratching my head on what is the best way to share my built out extranet to a client. Do I send a link? Or something else? Any info would be great, thanks!
@DeShonClark
@DeShonClark 2 года назад
You can share the site just using their external email. But, note, you will get an error if the site is not configured for external sharing

Hi Deshon, Thank you for this content. In this video you talk about automation and 3rd party app solution. But I don't think that is your next video. If you could help point me in the right direction ;)

Hey! Thanks for watching the video. You're correct, in the video, I mentioned automation and using a third-party app solution, but I didn't go into detail about it in that video. I apologize for any confusion caused. To help you in the right direction, I would recommend checking out the next video in the series, where I will be discussing automation using Power Automate and a third-party app solution to streamline the process of building the extranet. That video will provide more information and guidance on how to automate the process and make it more efficient. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to let me know, and I'll be happy to help!

Hey D, i really enjoy your content. I love the cloud first mindset and using all of Microsofts products. Ive been at a help desk for about 1.5 years and have my A+ certification and want to get into Azure and managing projects like you do. Do you have any certs? How did you get into IT and using Sharepoint and the whole suite?
@DeShonClark
@DeShonClark 3 года назад
Thanks Emmanuel for watching. I actually started on the help desk very similar to you. Always worked with Microsoft technologies really from a developer in the ASP.NET framework and then moving over to SharePoint. I do not have any certifications, but went the consulting route to build the most experience in the short amount of time. I will highly recommend the power platform if you find it something that you enjoy. If you get deep understanding in the power platform and become really good at it, there will be a large market for it for years to come. Hope this helps. If you're open for an interview would love to do a live session with you.

@@DeShonClark I definitely agree that there is a strong market for the power platform and incorporating for businesses all over. I would love to hop on a live session, that would be awesome!

Hi Deshon, I'm trying to create a site similar to yours and I wanted to know how you turned the "Client Sites" tab into a drop-down navigation and if you created a Power Automate process to create the client sites for you?
@DeShonClark
@DeShonClark 2 года назад
I used the mega menu to create the sub-links in the nav, I will shoot a video on the Power Automate provisioning process...but spoiler alert, it sill be using the trial from the 3PV Plumsail ... they have a very cool plugin for this.

Hi DeShon, how do you permissions for guests in this extranet outside of your company? Is this site turned on for external guest access? We have ours turned off by default for security purposes. Should I add guests to a security group to allow them to access the sub site associated with the parent internal sharepoint site?

I appreciate any advice, I’m trying to architect a solution for our subcontractors to our existing team projects.

hey Angela, sorry I was on a hiatus when you sent this...how did it go?
@Mo-dg8xi

Hi Angela. I am curious as well. I've followed DeShon's creation model here. But my next step was to create Access Packages which require Azure Prem 2 license. However, I was unable to pull the subsites into my access packages. So long story short, back to the drawing board. Need to allow external guest access and most do not have MS accounts. Thanks

@@Mo-dg8xi @DeShon Clark I have the same question. I want to start building the site, but I want to understand how my clients can securely access the site. As Mo mentioned, my clients may or may not have an MS account, and I do not want to ask them to create a new email address to gain access. Great video!

Hi Clark, I'm struggling so I hope you can help me :) What about if the link of an extranet site is displayed via a QR code? in this case, will anyone who scans the QR code be able to access the SharePoint site without further need of authenticate? Background: My company has created 4 microsoft form to obtain feedback from depot employees (not part of my company) we would like to build an extranet site, link it to a QR code and then hang it on the depots, so employees can scan it go to the sharepoint site and then click on one of the 4 forms displayed on that sharepoint site.

In your use case..I would create a public (non SharePoint Page...like word press...or even, now, power pages) make a QR code of that public page (anonymous access) and then have all your form links on that page. You could then get fancy and represent each form with an image or icon....hope this helps

Hi Deshon, I'm brand new at building a Sharepoint site. I've been asked to build an HR portal for a client and have set up a communications site. The site will be filled mostly with quick links that are on the main website. For easy navigation, I would like to add the links to the heroes. Can I add more heroes to the one section?
@DeShonClark
@DeShonClark 2 года назад
Yes, you can add more than one hero web part to a "general" section...you can also add more than one full width section
