Hello and greetings from NEPA had to make your recipe this morning I've been making assorted wines for quite some time and have to say your recipes are excellent and come out great the only difference is the yeast only have lalvin k1-V1116 on hand and will add this to the recipe tomorrow it seems to work well with fruit wines looking forward to your next recipe.

Rather than looking at your ABV when you first start I'd like to know the Starting Gravity reading when you finished adding all your water.
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight Месяц назад
If you have a hydrometer... you can just look at it for easy conversion. Most hydrometer have a 3 scale measurement system and usually come with a conversion chart.
@goldiegirl6705
@goldiegirl6705 Месяц назад
@@HowToDoneRight I have a hydrometer so I was wondering what your SG and ending gravity was for the wine.
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight Месяц назад
Ending sg for all my wine and recipes will be 1.00.. you can convert my potential alcohol which is what I use to sg by looking at hydrometer and converting. Most people want potential alcohol vs sg because much easier to understand.

Hi Todd, this looks like it will be a great wine! I have my mixed berry in my 5 gallon carboy letting it sit for 3 more days before I rack and add KLEER. The Pineapple and Banana wine both taste great! I go back and forth on which one I like better! Right now I am back to Pineapple by a hair! Have a great day! Are you making this in the 30 day time frame?
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight 5 месяцев назад
It will be great. No I'm going to take my time on this one.. I like doing thst better than rushing through it in 30 days. My other channel I don't know when I will be out of town for a period of time. Have a great day Brent. 👍👍

I thought I was clear enough on a strawberry wine but now that it’s bottled there is already sediment after 24 hours. A good shake makes it disappear but I hope this doesn’t ruin the wine

Sediment is normal for wine. Some of the best wines you will see sediment. Will taste even better. 🍷🍷

Hi Todd, question for you. I am making my mixed berry following the 30 day recipe. I have used bentonite and and have used Super Kleer on it, but it is still not clear. It is like day 29. Just let it sit until it clears? Is Pineapple the only wine you did the 30 day recipe on? Thanks for your time! Have a good one!
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight 5 месяцев назад
It should work for most fruit. I have made a couple that way but I like to do old fashion way when I have time. Yes just let it sit did the sg get all the way down to 1.000... I have noticed that makes a difference too. Have a great day Brent. 😀 🍷
@brentweiss5134
@brentweiss5134 5 месяцев назад
Yes my ending sg was .994. ABV will be over 15%. I suppose I will really have to backsweeten to get to sweet to semi sweet?@@HowToDoneRight

Hi Todd, I just bottled my 5 gallon batch of mixed berry after 63 days. After it wasn't clearing I let it sit another 30 days. It was clear then, but I decided to use sparkolloid on it also. Now from start to finish I bottled, corked, shrink wrapped, and put on personalized labels 63 days after I first started. It is crystal clear and taste delicious. I know this was your wife Laura's second favorite wine that you guys have made. I am looking forward to making your strawberry/banana wine in the future. Thanks.

One more quick question the package of bentonite I got says on the bag that you use 2 teaspoons to a half cup of water and it’s good for 5 gallons. I’ve noticed you use 4 teaspoons. Does 4 teaspoons work better than what the directions on this bag say. Thank you very much in advance again I love your shows.

No 18 percent yeast is just the tolerancy... means you can go up to 18 percent when dialing in abv.

Just a heads up, you should probably avoid potassium sorbate and just heat your wine up to 165 degrees F to pasteurize. Look up what it’s made of and you’ll probably wanna not use it anymore.
