UDOKA has apologized and never once tried to fight against it - “I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,” Udoka said. “I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Exactly. The suspension comes from the harassment that was reported not the affair. That’s why he’s named and the affair partner isn’t. Why would the Celtics suspend him a week before camp the season after he led them to the finals? The details are gonna be crazy
@JonsWay

@@Swaggattack71 this is most likely not a harassment case, people like Stephen a smith gets tons of inside info and he’s already said that he knows info that he can’t disclose as to why this is so serious but he wouldn’t do a take if there was harassment involved because Stephen A probably would’ve known that by now.

@Swaggattack71 Год назад
@@JonsWay that’s a fair point tbh SAS definitely has inside knowledge. But just going off what was reported to the public the harassment claim was the basis of the investigation. Matt Barnes posted a vid about why he deleted his tweet in defense of Ime and said it was a lot deeper than we think. In the press conference Wyc said they got an independent law firm to do the investigation and they found something big enough to cause this. He also dodged the “was it consensual/was there harassment” question due to “privacy” which makes me think a lawsuit may be coming. I feel all of this weird. For 1. If somebody commits something so bad, you suspend them for a year…why not fire them? 2. IF it was really a consensual relationship, why is one person getting suspended? I understand the power dynamics and I don’t think she should necessarily get the exact same punishment. If your rule is supposedly for anybody in the org, would she also not get in trouble if it was somebody equal or lesser to her?

If it were a criminal matter she'd be an accomplice. I agree with the punishment being harsher for Udoka, but zero tolerance on both sides would be the best route. We aren't talking kids were dealing with adults, she knew it was against policy but chose to go on with relationship anyway. Nothing stopped her from coming forward earlier. I don't know what her punishment should be. But her actions were apart of the problem as well.

Like with Jeannie buss and Phil jackson? After Matt Barnes statement, I now believe ime should have been fired for cause and referred to authorities as it appears there is more. The entire nba fan experience is sexualized at every level and theses relationships happen ALL the time…ask a player …the Celtics botched this and the women staffers suffered as a result of the front office wanting their cake and to eat it too….if Barnes is right ime needs to go and the front office that covered this up too…my guess is they are protecting the executives and owners at the expense of more junior staff

Par for the course, the other person that violated policy was never mentioned and is probably not suspended 🤫

@@kararal9834 Press conference is a little bit over the top. But the problem is that Ime is the coach. So maybe they are harsher here because with great power comes great responsibility? Or maybe Brad Stevens wants to come back down from upstairs and coach this team again lol

This reminds me of visiting Delta Airlines in Atlanta in the 90's. Their management told me that if 2 employees had a relationship, both employees had to leave the company as it wasn't allowed. That was the policy. But men were also not allowed to have facial hair at the time. I understand that the Celtics had a policy but I wonder, when men and women work together, how many couples are there today that met in the work place? How many people are now married that met at their work place? I know, I know, it's the policy and that's all some people will care about. But women still make less than men for performing the same job and that's also still policy today. Policy is policy, I get it. But maybe the Celtic's policy is out of touch with reality. I'm not going to argue with anybody, everyone has their own opinion and all opinions have value. But there are companies today that actually support employees in this situation. Are they wrong? I'm sure coach knows the history of the Celtics and he is taking responsibility but their history is evidently still a significant part of their culture.
