The first 3 rings was the fruition of labor coming together, and they were learning how to win. The second 3 they were cementing the legacy of guys who knew how to win.
It was much more than that. The League was tougher in the first three peat. IN the second three-peat there were more bad teams in the second run. The three point line was shorter for the 96 and 97 seasons. And in the first three peat, Jordan was getting pounded with full handchecking still alowed. The second three peat, Jordan got more favorable calls.
Turtle Island LAC i agree mostly, but the aura they had built around themselves, the mystique, and toughness, earned a lot of those calls too. It’s hard for a ref not to see a hero either. And they all played that mental game. That was a team that understood the sacrifices to win for long periods. To a man. That team was forged in fire, beaten by the Pistons with brutality, Jordan and Pippen had to be a**holes to their own team, to create a team strong enough to not be intimidated. They sacrificed friendships for rings, man, that’s a full comprehension of what it takes to be the top dog. Players aren’t built like that now.
Nope the first three rings is telling the league how hardwork, chemistry, and talent wins but the second only tells the nba how easy to win championship when you are a super team
incredibly difficult to beat one superstar teams in the finals. Unheard of to be guarded by Jeff Hornacek in not one, but two finals. Imagine the adversity of playing unbelievable, unimaginable defensive talent.
I say the second was harder due to age and facing the Jazz twice who were no slouches in basketball , offensively and defensively ... and it started after a layoff
Yeah I think the reverse actually. The last couple years were so hard for the Bulls. They barely survived the Pacers, MJ with the Flu, Pippen and his constant back problems, Jazz with the better record and homecourt advantage etc. Bulls were down by 3 points with 43 seconds left and Mike had to make 3 consecutive monster plays just to seal it cause Utah woulda had all the momentum for game 7 n MJ was spent
His father was murdered. He quit basketball. He shifted his athletic mind and body to play baseball. He shot space jam. His team was not as good as it used to be. Imagine coming back and winning another 3 championships in a row after all of that The 2nd 3 peat is what made Jordan the GOAT 🐐
"His team was not as good as it used to be" It was actually better. Rodman > Grant and Kukoc was better than any 3rd scorer the Bulls had in their first three peat.
@@Ultimatecheezeburger but Scottie had regressed incredibly. For example, in the first 3 peat, 2/3 of those chips during that season he was averaging over 2 steals a game, in the 2nd 3 peat, he had 0 seasons averaging over 2 steals a game. Also in the first 3 peat every year he averaged over 6 assists, in the 2nd 3 peat, he didn’t average 6 assists once. Rodman was a good addition but Scottie was near his end.
@Dats a paddlin MJ gave the 86' Celtics a scare when he only had bums on his team. The 90's Bulls could've beaten any team in the 80's. 6 chips? Maybe, maybe not, but at least as many as Bird or even Magic.
@1- 20 - 7 LG Go back and watch the 93 NBA Finals. Commentators were literally referring to him as being the greatest of all time even before they won the series. Think about that. MJ was being held to that regard before he even finished the first three peat!
@1- 20 - 7 LG nope watch his third championship post game interview..... The commentator literally asked him "how do you feel now with everyone thinking about you as the greatest TO EVER PLAY THE GAME"
@Jiggy Thanos Nothing that even remotely resembles a slight at Jordan, if that was your concern? I sense abrasive energy on your side of the screen..but I'm open to being wrong. Either way I'm here for you man, stay safe out there..🙏🏿❤
Man does come up with hilarious comments. I mean I love Patrick Mahomes, but this guy went and said he's the best player to ever live after 2 seasons 😅
Man but if Lebron was to grab at least two it’s an argument because I don’t just look at rings then that’s the cast Montana is still better then Brady he didn’t loose 4/0 yes Brady is 6-3 those 3 loses was bad but I still think Brady was better and then bill Russell is better then Michael he has 11 rings you see what I’m getting at he’s not better then Jordan tho but Lebron idk man Lebron is the total package
JDom you do have to count rings because getting rings comes with adversity and how he played to get those rings. He was the best player in all of his runs to get rings.
ESPN morning meeting; Boss: Alright guys what material do we have today Employee 1: I got nothing Employee 2: Me neither Boss: Goddammit lets just run another Jordan debate
Yea, and bully ball was prevalent. Cats could get cold-cocked and a regular foul just MIGHT be called. Detroit and NY were straight up abusive almost with impunity! Lol. The man handling, errm, hand checking back then was crazy, too. The rules changed by the 2nd 3 peat so it was a kinder, gentler NBA then. Both 3peats had special things about em but I'd lean towards the 1st one based on the "MJ tripeat" deally.
LeBum does nothing better than MJ but pass the ball. MJ has better footwork, better at scoring, better at getting points off the ball, better at defending (on and off the ball), better at driving in the lane (the way he controls his body and better hangtime), better offensive rebounder (more seasons with 100 offensive rebounds than LeBum), better at shooting, and more clutch. LeBum is Lamar Odom with more stamina.
He was more dominant in the 1st three peat. He was toying with everybody from '87 - '93 and during the 1st threepeat he averaged 37/6/7 on 51% from the field during the 1st Threepeat in the Finals. 2nd Threepeat he was a much better leader and understood the game on a supremely high level and trusted his teammates more and that Threepeat made him the Undisputed GOAT
THE GREAT ONE Why bring up Lebron?? Seems like you’re the Bronsexual here🤦🏾♂️ People who bring up Lebron in a convo where he’s not needed are the real Bronsexuals 🤷🏾♂️😉
LeBron passed you up a long time ago when he took a bunch of nobodies to his first final. Even you couldn't do that because you were too busy getting cooked in the first rounds.
Mr. Twelve Bronsexuals think playing against Oladipo, Gilbert Arenas, a 41 win Nets team, and a bunch of rookies on the Celtics is more impressive than playing prime Bird, McHale, and Parish.
@@magodtrick3166 stfu scrub. you wet jordan fanboys are hilarious and will refuse to accept the reality of it all anyway. Lmao. LeBron passed up your overrated player a long time ago. You wanna talk rings because you jordan fanboys think he won it all himself without the help of his teammates and coach. LeBron passed him up a long time ago, boomer. Lol.
MJ never playing a game 7 in the finals is much more impressive the making 9 finals. It's something LeBron wishes he can still do and he doesn't even come close. Shame on Stephen A for putting LeBron's name 2nd to Jordan. 😅😅
@Harinder that series was rigged and we all know it. 1.(I know this wasn’t on purpose but) bogut got hurt 2. Draymond got ejected so he couldn’t play game five when they down 3-1 3. Curry got fouled out for the first time at the end of game 6 (the call was b.s.)
@Harinder Rana tougher or better? There’s a huge difference. Plus 2015 warriors, 2011 mavs or 2012 thunder aren’t better than any of the teams mj beat in the finals.
And when draymond came back in game six the cavs has the momentum by then the warriors had no chance at the cavs home court but I’ll admit they completely chocked game 7
Harinder Rana ok, the spurs or warriors with kd were better than the teams mj played but your acting like mj wouldn’t beat those teams when mj is on the greatest team of all time he’d beat any of those teams lebron played against
1- 20 - 7 LG Rodman was the greatest defender at the PF spot that I’ve ever seen, and Kemp averaged 24 and 11 vs him on 55% shooting in those finals. He even literally teabagged him on a dunk. Unreal talent.
The second one was more memorable somehow. Maybe because it's more recent or because the late '90s Jazz was such a legendary team. The Mailman is 2nd on the NBA all-time scoring list after all.
@@maceomillions2192 Greg Ostertag, abd a 3 point specialist Jeff Ornacek, Antoine Carr, and Byron Russell and that's off of memory because those teams won 64 and 62 games those finals seasons.
LeBum has less career offensive rebounds than Jordan despite playing more games. LeBum is an overrated rebounder, this is funny since LeBum played with shooters while MJ played with Grant, Rodman, and Pippen.
Literally Pippen is better than anyone LeBron has played with. Rodman is the greatest defender of all time. So yeah, Michael had a decent amount of help as well. Also, calling grown men names only makes you look more idiotic and immature.
TimothyKK Lol at pippen being better than wade or anthony davis. Pippen was never a top 5 player in the league while malone, hakeem, shaq, robinson, gary payton, or barkley were playing.
Magic Johnson literally called MJ "the most talented player in the NBA by far" when Magic was still playing in the NBA and making all-NBA 1st teams. Imagine Steph/KD/Kawhi saying that about LeBron or Harden or whatever, it would never happen in a million years. But MJ was just on a different level and all his contemporaries knew it, Bird called Jordan "God disguised as Michael Jordan" after a playoff series. That's how amazing he was.
A better question would be, “Which team would win in a 7 game series? 1st 3peat Bulls vs the Second 3peat Bulls?” 🤔. Would the younger more physical 91-93 team be able to shut down the more experienced better shooting 96-98 team? 🤔
Averaged 41 pts in Finals verse Phoenix! As you probably know! Thats unreal. Like Max said pts we're not cheap back then. Phoenix was not a defensive power house by any means so what did they score 95 a game against Phoenix instead of 87 a game in other finals? Maybe not cause game he got 55 pts I think barely broke 90 ish
Every time he was announced before the game it was like God is descending, it is hard to describe and convey the aura and presence MJ had. So glad I was able to experience that. Later I witnessed entire Kobe's and Lebron's careers, you just can't put them in the same sentence, MJ was something else
LeBron James’ Playoff Legacy: - Goes 1-9 in the 2nd half vs Pistons in Game 7 of the 2006 ECSF. - Saved by Bobbie Gibson in Game 7 of the 2007 ECF against the Pistons without Ben Wallace. LeFraud went 3-11 the whole game while Boobie Gibson scored 19 points to close out the series. - Put up 22 PPG on 34% in the 2007 finals to get swept after each game was decided by single digits. - Goes 8-20 FG in Game 6 of the 2009 ECF against Orlando; Outplayed by Delonte West and Hedo Turkoglu. - In the 2010 ECSF, LeFraud loses three straight to the Celtics after being up 2-1. He averaged 21 PPG on 34% FG with 6.3 turnovers a game during that losing stretch to run to D Wade in Miami. - Before joining Wade in Miami, LeFraud was 0-4 in a playoff series against teams who had an All-NBA player that year (Wallace/Billups 2006, Duncan 2007, KG 2008, Dwight 2009) - Promised Miami 8 rings only to get outscored by Jason Terry in the 2011 Finals while playing more minutes, not to mention he scored 8 points in a Finals game. - Taken to 7 Games by Ray Allen, KG, and Paul Pierce in their mid 30s in the 2012 ECF despite having the better overrall superteam. - Outscored by Wade in the 4th quarters of the 2012 Finals (Only series he dominated against legit competition was due to Wade closing out the games). - Taken to 7 games by 22 year old Paul George and Roy Hibbert in the 2013 ECF despite having a superteam. - Outscored by Danny Green in the first three games of the 2013 Finals; Saved by Ray Allen in Game 6. - Suffered the biggest series blowout in NBA Finals history in the 2014 Finals, padded his stats when the Spurs were up 15 for Games 1, 3-5 of the Series by scoring 51/141 of his points in blowout situations. - LeFraud goes scoreless in OT in Game 1 of the 2015 Finals, outplayed by Mozgov in Game 4 with a chance to go up 3-1 at HOME, and recorded 118 misses (most since 1967) during the series. Averaged 36 PPG on an inefficient 35% shooting. - LeFraud suspeneds Draymond in Game 5 on a brink of elimination, he goes for 41 points in that game and 41 points in Game 6 (Despite Draymond was avoiding another tech to get suspended). In Game 7 where Draymond can go all out on defending LeFraud, he goes 9-24 and 0-4 in the final four minutes of the 4th quarter until Kyrie saves his legacy. - LeFraud dissapears in the 2nd half of the 2017 Finals and was outplayed by KD in the 4th quarters of that series. - LeFraud’s “greatest playoff run” consisted of Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Oladipo taking him to 7 games and scoring 0 points in OT against the Warriors in Game 1 after exploding for 51 points. - LeFraud activates “playoff mode” in the west only to go 3-12 for the rest of the season and recruit Anthony Davis after missing the playoffs
Super jordan stans are quick to call people bronsexuals, even in a MJ vs MJ video you still bring up lebron. You guys even make accounts purely to bash lebron. I’ve never even seen a bron fan think of doing the same to jordan. Guys jordan is good enough to be called the goat without dragging anyone else’s name in the dirt. Just be thankful you got to see these two play have a couple debates but don’t be childish. Also I’m a lebron fan but I’ll say jordan is the goat.
cmhyperviper11 shut up this video legit has nothing to do with lebron. It’s MJ VS MJ not “who is the goat” and even if it was a goat convo I can guarantee you it would be people shitting on lebron the most yet say he’s not top 5. And then they would just compare accolades with the other people in the goat convo
Nah 2nd was better. Lost his dad, came back from losing to Orlando in the ECF to become 72-10, beat Utah twice when Karl Malone was MVP one of the years, dealing with injured Pippen, Contract disputes. He was older and still winning. '97 Game 1 buzzer beater.
If it had not been for the expansion draft and the Minnesota Timberwolves selecting Rick Mahorn, MJ's first championship would have been delayed one year. The Pistons would have 3-peated.
why are you bringing up brons name david??? this topic is specifically talking about M.J and the bulls this has nothing to do with bron stop hating, could you even make it to the nba??? could you carry a team to the finals? can you? can you?
This segment is ridiculous. Espn needs to have a segment about how Lebron has NEVER 3peated and NEVER created a DYNASTY for any of the franchises he has played for........And never will.
1st 3peat: MJ and the Bulls faced Bad Boy Pistons, Magic Lakers, Very Talented Cavs, Pat Riley Knicks, Very Talented Blazers, MVP Barkley and a Very Talented Suns.. He faced tougher teams in the 1st 3peat with the worse team with just Pippen and Horace being the legit help..
It's close. The 1st one had the 1st ever championship and the switch hand what a move by Jordan play against the lakers 6 3s and the 1st have shrug game You can't go in me game against the Cavs average 40 in finals in 93
Mannie Supa Sport bro that was not a offensive foul. He did not push off. Clearly Russell’s momentum from Jordan faking him so bad made it look like Jordan pushed off. He didn’t. Russell’s momentum carried him that far. Go back and watch the side view and you can clearly see that.
@Eric Duncan Lol Stop It You and I and both know that Jordan pushed off with his off hand. Can see it plain as day. Obviously No call by the refs. Nice try. Even Isiah Thomas (commentator) noticed it on the Live TV Broadcast and called Jordan ‘crafty.’ STILL A CLASSIC JORDAN GOAT MOMENT, THOUGH.
Mannie Supa Sport it was not an offensive foul. I’m telling you. Jordan didn’t push off on him. He just had his hand on him. Go back and watch the highlight from the side view. You can clearly see he did not use and force to push off. I don’t care what anybody says.
Michael Jordan first three-peat was the greatest in his prime he scored over 40 points a game in the finals against Charles Barkley Phoenix Suns in 93 nobody in history never gonna do that again and he beat Clyde Drexler in his prime no doubt the first three-peat was excellence at his best
I was barely one when Jordan got his last ring, so my opinion is invalid. But I think the second 3peat made Jordan the GOAT. He was older, but more skilled and smarter. And him coming back and winning showed he could easily pick up where he left.
@@zubeirjamaa Yes I am a RU-vidr that has a 6 digit salary. I'm not complaining. Look the point is. Nobody that is 1 year old when Jordan won has last Championship should be speaking about this topic AT ALL
MJ was a beast on first three peat, he was in his physical prime and just destroyed everyone. But on the second one he was greater, 72-10, flu game, the shot, overcoming injuries, it was more significant
Snoop's Doggystyle (1993) and Skee-Lo's I Wish (1995) are my favorite rap albums of all-time. I think of Isaiah Thomas when I think of Skee-Lo. I also loved Soul For Real's Candy Rain album. This is way before I got more into white music.
Anyone that saw Jordan during the first 3peat witnessed the perfect basketball player. He had NO weakness.’90-‘93 Jordan is what every player wants to be,that’s one of the numerous reasons why he’s the GOAT
Jonathan Clarchick as a role player yeah but kemp had like 8 good years.. Howard was one of the best centers and hasent been all star status in like 6 years
Easily the first three peat. The league was TOUGHER from 1991-1993. In the first three-peat Jordan was still getting physically pounded by the Knicks, Blazers and the Pistons. In the second three-peat, Jordan started to get more calls and the three point line was shortened for two of those three championships.
@Clippers Suck Who cares Jordan did won Finals Mvp 6 times, and he was playing with and arguably against better players than Lebron. Not to mention it didn't take Jordan 7 games to win a ring.
The thing about MJ in the second 3 peat was that he had lost some of his explosiveness due to the weight training he was doing for baseball, so he became more of a post up player and adapted his game. Even with that he was still the best player in the league.
@@Balal8281 MJ became very bottom heavy due to the type of training regime he was doing which contributed to a loss to some of his explosiveness. When he came back he was around 215-220 where his weight before he left he was 205-210. Not to mention his time off and age was a factor as well.
Younger fans always compare LeBron and Kobe to 96, 97, 98 MJ cause honestly they would fare better against a 34 or 35 yr. old MJ but the 91, 92, 93 MJ was unreal!
IMO - The 2nd 3-peat was better than the first. The 1st 3-peat was Jordan ascending to the pantheon of greats, but the 2nd 3-peat was when Jordan took his place on the throne and cemented his legacy as the GOAT. Between leading the 72-10 Bulls, the "Flu Game", and hitting the last shot in '98, that 2nd run was truly legendary, and it eclipsed the 1st 3-peat.
Max is right. I initially posted this before I finished watching the video. I was privileged to watch both three peats. The 96, 97, and 98 bulls teams were better teams than 91, 92, 93 but the 91, 92, 93 MJ was a better MJ than the 96, 97, 98 MJ! The 91, 92, 93 MJ was my favorite MJ to watch!
The second one due to age and the lay off is the better 3peat the argument needs to rest Mj will forever be the greatest ball player of all time and the most iconic sports figure off all time
It was definitely the second. Jordan was better in the first but you played a 58 win LA team, 57 Portland, 62 PHX the first 3 peat. The second he beat Seattle 64 wins, UTA 64 and UTA 62 wins. They were older and more battered the last two season playing better teams. Dynamic duos of Payton/Kemp and Stockton/Malone.
But LeBron stans say he only beat scrubs. He literally beat every original dream team player besides Bird.On his way to winning multiple NBA Championships. Not to mention Jordan beat great teams to get to the Finals and then won every time.LBJ beat one great team the Celtics. With Garnett who knees were shot to reach any Finals. And then cries wolf when he faces equal or slightly better competition.
To ME MJ's best years was the 80s..scoring titles 50 60 40 points every game..averaged 37 on 50% in Bad Boy Era..MVP dunk champ allstar mvp DPoY should i go on
All had great arguments. Most fans remember the last but the world fear Jordan after he got past the Pistons.... The second 3 peat he didn’t use as much energy because he was older, smarter and stronger. He came back and beat teams that used the Bulls first 3peat championship teams as a blueprint. No doubt Houston Championship teams were molded after the Bulls as well as Orlando (two outside shooters and a All World guard in Penny). Shaq was thee exception because he was the most dominant Center in history
In NBA history as its documented. All teams that met each other twice in the finals would win one and then lose one to the same team no matter what year. That up until the bulls beat the Jazz twice making them the first team to do so. That has not happen until Lelames cavs got beat TWICE by the goldenstate warriors. So Karl Malone and Lebum share history together. They were both beat twice in the finals by the same team. And they say Lelames the goat!?....i cant grasp the concept sorry.
