The ‘96 women’s Olympic basketball team had me glued to the screen. I’ve been a fan of Dawn since childhood. What she did in college, the Olympics, the WNBA, and what she’s doing as a college coach and the Olympic coach is beyond extraordinary.

Let's be real, Dawn should be in the conversation of all coaches, men & women. She should be up on Mt. Rushmore, that's how good I think she is as a coach. She put together a great team with a great bench. Plus having to me the best defensive player on the court, 6 ft 7, Kamilla Cardoso. Staley had built in that bench that kept their legs fresh, while you could see Iowa wearing down and honestly, any other team, Iowa probably would have come back but Cardoso had the edge. As hard as Hannah Stuelke played so hard but her assignment was Cardoso.

Dawn was always the ish to me ever since I watched her at the 96 Olympics as a kid. I always seen the fire in her eyes and it hasn’t burned out on the sidelines. I love my sista, she a All Star.

Notice when you mention the teams, you say the name of the team. When you mention Iowa, you call Catlin. While Catlin is great, it takes a team and South Carolina showed that.

It's so refreshing to hear these two young ladies opinion on the state of women's sports and not Malika Andrews

Most important factor in the championship game was South Carolina had 9 star players with significant playing time, a bench which could be starters contributing 37 points, and fresh while Iowa played starters whole game, no bence, out of gas second half. With such star power and depth South Carolina should continue their run next year.

The greatest thing to me is the undefeated season and cap it off with the chip... How many other coaches have that. UNDEFEATED SEASON!!!

That Geno's 11 titles seems uncatchable. As an aside, I stumbled on the 2020 women's recruiting class. 1) Paige Bueckers, 2) Angel Reese 3) Cameron Brink 4) Caitlyn Clark 5) Kamila Cardoso. 7) Hailey Van Linth 23) Aaliyah Edwards What a class. You also got 11) Te-hina Paopao on there who isn't as good as the others but had a good game for South Carolina and is coming back.

The way Coach Staley worked that bench and rotated players was masterful. The depth of SC was the nail in the coffin for Iowa.

Recently got into women’s basketball, I can see that coaching really does make a difference in this sport. Cool to see that 4 of the 5 winningest coaches are currently still coaching. Geno, Kim, Dawn and Tara are gonna have their hands full with top recruits wanting to add to their legacy. Exciting time for womens basketball!

I've been watching College Men's and Women's BB for as long as I can remember since being a kid (and I'm in my 50's now) and I must admit at this point the women's game is WAAAAY more interesting than the men's because when their on, they SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT!!!! and there is no arguing against it!

I cannot think of anybody in the history of basketball, college or pros, that has had the success as a player that Dawn Staley has had, and then turn around and have the success as a coach that she's had. I can't think of ANYONE.

Stephen A. is the only analyst who has the guts to correct other analysts or guests. He's special and he would rather put out correct info than risk stepping on egos.
