Steve we are the same age. Did you wrestle under Lyndon Campbell and with the Blanco brothers at Canyon Springs? Those kids smashed us at SS CIF.

@@PJP1112 I wrestled in CA, and then in college at the same time as Abas. I got to watch him compete a ton for a decade. He was also a 3x CA champ (this was before we ever had a 4 timer) and a cadet, junior, and HS national champion; all before his college run. But he was truly an innovator in the sport. I know that much of his style relied on his uncanny athleticism, but he (and his brothers) just thought really creatively about technique, and did things on the mat that no one else even thought to try.

In my opinion the PSU program openly states that winning doesn't matter as this is just a game but I think that's just their public opinion and not how it's actually viewed. If you watch Caels interview after 2011 worlds you can clearly see that this isn't just a game in his mind as he looks completely broken by his 5th place finish.

Kind of an ignorant statement here. The PSU program never said "winning doesn't matter as this is just a game" as a public opinion piece. They promote the idea that in the grand scheme of your life losing a match isn't the entirety of your life. Cael being "completely broken" as you put it doesn't negate this idea, seeing that he's doing more than fine in life. It doesn't mean you can't be upset after losing. Sure Cael was very upset after his loses however he's not harping on it allowing it to run his life.
