I have found it on Dailymotion, and i reuploaded it on RU-vid. Do you have a problem with that? However the quality is kinda... Not good. But this is the best FULL version you could've find.
Freaking FINALLY! You are a God send, sir. I have been trying to find this video everywhere, but the only things that seem to exist anymore are clips and mentions.
I'm genuinely surprised they got Benedict Cumberbatch to reprise his role. Which makes it hilarious to hear Smaug use more slang-y words in his speech.
@@Mac14329not all of it, but some of the slang he says in his rant about Toothless sounds like slang Jake would use. But it sounds weird coming from Smaug.
we need more intelligent dragons on the big screen. hell give smaug his own movie/series, a story from the perspective of a dragon could be very interesting
"You're centuries old" _"Correct"_ "You destroyed Dale" _"Correct"_ "You captured the Dwarf Kingdom of Airoborne and its treasures" _"Correct"_ "All really impressive" _"Thank you"_
Smaug: Who are you calling cute, you pathetic worm?! My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws are spears, my tail strikes like a thunderbolt, my wings are a hurricane, and my breath is death! Don’t you understand?!
According to Tolkien, there are only two dragons, Smaug and that dragon from Bewulf. And Smaug saying that the dragons from Game of Thrones and Toothless are not real dragons because they are tame and can live with humans sounds exactly like Tolkien said in an interview once. That real dragons are devastating, greedy, cunning, insidious, murderous and bloodthirsty for mass murder. Is is SMAUG not Smog, but this is really cool and good, i Love The Ending:NEVER LAUGH AT A REAL DRAGON...MOTHERF.....
Holy shit this is hilarious. I totally missed this back when it came out. I think I wasn't tuned in to the Colbert Report any more by that point, but this is great content. All the better because Colbert is a such a genuine fan of the material.
I didnt watch much latenight comedy shows back when this came out but this is hillarious, they dont seem to have to many decent sketchs like this anymore though, the only show that comes kind of close is john olivers last week tonight and he only does good sketches like this everyonce and awhile
Did you see Colbert’s cameo in The Desolation of Smaug? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ci3vT7-vU0g.html He got to do it by beating Peter Jackson in a Tolkien trivia contest!
If he ever had to interview Ancalagon the Black, there's only one thing I'd say. "Stephen, you'd better be prepared to interview on location, cause they couldn't build a studio big enough to house that big sonuvabitch. I heard his frigging wingspan is the entire length of Manhattan Island!"
@@sonicinfinity1871 No, He’s not a hero, he’s a captive, who allows himself to be ridden by filthy children! Toothless? More like.. BALLESS!!! I am a old school worm who keeping it really YO! Doing what dragons do!! *BOOM*
@@sonicinfinity1871 No, he's not a hero. He is a captive who allows himself to be ridden by filthy children! "Toothless"? More like "Ball-less"! I am a old school wyrm, keeping it real, yo! Doing what dragons do! BOOM! I'm the original raider, I invented the hostile takeover!
Comedy Central and the Colbert Show owners kept having all the videos of this taken down, earlier on. Thank you SO much for sticking in there and getting it back up on here. It deserves to be available (now that those greedy Bs apparently have other things to worry about than taking these copies of the broadcast down on here). This is too good to not be archived here and available to everyone. Good work on getting it reposted!
You know what’s crazy and cool? Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers is in a universe where movie and cartoon characters co-exist with real humans, which means that this interview actually happened in that universe. I can only imagine how much cleaning up they had to do after the interview was over. Also leaves me wondering what Smaug’s doing after he’s done with the Hobbit movies. In my head cannon, he attends a Peter Jackson panel at Fan-Con hosted by Peter Jackson himself, with 2005 King Kong, a Vastatosaurus Rex, Gollum, Tintin, and the aliens from District 9 also attending. Smaug, Kong, and the V. Rex attend via live-streaming since they’re too big to actually be there.
Just imagine if Smaug is real and actually a actor, take rolls as dragons from movies and tv Like Smaug playing a role of Elliot from Pete’s Dragon🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:53 I love how Smaug suddenly gets distracted by the audience, and licks his chops and his eyes start glowing with predator vibes, and Stephen has to snap him out of it XD
Still confused whether Smaug here is CGI or an aninatronic (Ik Im dumb, Im just curious lol), I mean he did break the wall and a piece of long wood fell from his nose. So idk
all of it is cgi, with perhaps a little practical demolition for the wall. it's amazing how good it looks, even by today's standards smaug in the movies and in this fun little sketch is a truly impressive work of art
I have a lot of favorite monsters including Smaug King Ghidorah From Godzilla KOTM Ender dragon From MINECRAFT Mecha Godzilla From GvK Indominus Rex From Jurassic World
Answer me this, Smaug -- if you and the big boy, Ancalagon the Black, were to cross paths (although I can't for the life of me figure how you'd ever make crossing his path look easy, he's a big boy!), would you ever sit and compare your kill counts over a barbecue? I mean, you obviously do your own cooking, right?
I think this version of smaug is quite a bit smaller then the movie version so he would 'fit' within the confines of the studio, the movie version is close to the size of a two story building if not bigger if I remember right.
Awesome video and I wonder if there's a interview of Smaug the dragon talking about the Battle of the Five Armies battle scenes with the Orcs and men and Dwarfs an elfs?
Here's a man from the future: last week we got in House of the Dragon a few shots of Vhagar, a she-dragon which happens to be even larger than Smaug. And, of course, we all know Balerion was even larger than Vhagar. So much for "whipped-rat lizards", Smaug's only advantage to the Targaryen dragon is his sheer intelligence.
Speaking about the dragons in Game of Thrones, think about their size, they're bigger than Smaug. Smaug must about 35 foot long, the dragons you see on Game of Thrones are actually 59 foot long, 114 foot long or 122 foot long
A quick google search puts Smaug(in the movie) at 130 meters or around 420 ft(ha ha funny number, I know). This would make him much larger than drogon and his siblings. If you have a different source lmk
@@godzillac2002 you can't find original video. I remember I had a link on it, but it was removed from the original channel, same with most of the websites that did upload it, it's no longer available.
@@godzillac2002 He means Comedy Central removing the original video for no reason, they've done it with other stuff, it's not even visible on their site
@@pilummurialis6490 I would guess licensing issues or something....its kind of shame because whoever animated this and Benedict doing the voice work kind of just disappears into history unless someone like Godzilla C200 reuploads it into YT. Its the same reason why some videogames disappear from digital distribution due to licensing issues
