Makes this memorable: 1) Ray and Reggie was there 2) Dad and Mom was there despite not being together 3) all-time 3pt% leader was there (Kerr) 4) and all happened in the most famous arena in the world Congrats Chef Curry! 🥇🏀🏀🏀👑
@@Jamal1107 Seems like this was a little longer and was taken like in a different light if that makes sense idk what I'm trying to say haha maybe it was the emotion in the arena but it felt like yeah a legend had done something great not just a record being broken
1. Westbrook breaking the record for most triple doubles. 2. Curry breaking the all-time 3-point record. 3. And now Lebron dethroning Kareem in the all-time scoring list. We're all witnesses of greatness. What a time to be a basketball fan.
@@Don_Lee_Swagger You cannot even help but dump on other players while praising LeBron. LeBron has the most important record, but did OP ever deny that? NO, just that they were all milestones. You people with your stan wars are annoying af.
@@funnyfartvideos8244 Eh, I dont think the times of Knicks fans throwing bottles of beer and rioting was something to consider nostalgia....I'm all for trash talking and booing but being belligerent isn't that cool
It can also be noted that the Knicks and the fans really wanted to draft Steph for the 8th pick, and were devastated Dubs select him first, back in 2009. (if I'm not wrong)
@@mylightb4sunrise611 nah we love his ass in Philly. He may not be a elite star like Steph but the man can play, otherwise he’d be out of a job right now at this point in his career
@@birdyboy1900 I agree. Seth can play great. It is not because he is overshadowed by his brother but because coaches can't be like Steve Kerr trusting Steph's 3pt jumper and have a system built around it.
When they stop the game after you broke a record and you’re getting nothing but cheers, a standing ovation, and love as the opposition at MSG that’s when you know you’re truly a legend of the sport
Or it means the sport has changed so much as our culture now awards participation trophies to everyone. NBA is nothing but 3s now and Stephs record won't last all that long. I miss basketball in the 90s when men played.
@@funnyfartvideos8244 I totally agree about missing the NBA of the 90s. But dude seriously, Curry is a Allstar, multi Championship player and definitely a future Hall of fame inductee. He is not just a participant. I'm not even a fan of the Warriors by any means. But man, you got to give props to the guy.
@@funnyfartvideos8244 What a retarded / troll comment. "Participation trophies", for one of the best player of the last decade, that just broke a major record that confirms his dominance over a particular aspect of the game. You must be butthurt for some reason.
yeah imagine a football game being stopped because Ronaldo broke another record!!! the game's getting ridiculous. He's one the greatest ever but it's not about individual records. just wonder if he would have done the same in another team and and another time.
He’s actually one of the greatest players in NBA history. He only changed the whole NBA and how each team plays. He can do everything at an elite level, not just shoot.
0:52 when Reggie Miller said how Babe Ruth changed baseball with the long ball is the same way Steph Curry changed basketball with the 3 is an absolutely legendary line.
And the fact that he is way far from retirement makes it even more EPIC! Wonder if he will ever witness that someone who would surpass his record just like Ray Allen and Reggie Miller did.
I wouldn't say far. He's 35 years old. Yes, he's playing at an elite level still but this is the end of his prime. He's got like 3 or 4 more years left of playing.
Yeah no. Nothing like this ever happened got Jordan in the 90s because he didn't need a 20 minute timeout in the first quarter for people to appreciate and understand his greatness. Its apparent you weren't alive or able to remember basketball in the 90s when men played and it was truly a special sport.
This guy single handedly changed the way every NBA teams takes advantage of the 3 point line. Greatest shooter of all time for sure, and it ain’t even close.
I am rewatching this because I would never want to forget this moment. After all, Stephen Curry made me a fan of the NBA, and his game encouraged me to start playing basketball. I would never want to forget the most excellent shooter of all time. I have been a fan of him since the ‘12-13’ season (the first time he and Klay got into the playoffs; it was also the year I became a basketball fan and started playing it.) It’s just so amazing to witness him during my childhood because, in a few weeks, I will be graduating my senior year and still be a fan of him and Golden State. Because of him, I loved playing basketball. That is why I thank you Steph, and I will forever appreciate your greatness.
I have a lot of respect for the Knicks with how they stopped the game and played music for everyone to give Curry such a legendary ovation like that. Same goes for the knicks fans that were cheering. This gave me chills.
Imagine being his college coach seeing players like him come and go throughout his life just to see curry grow up to be such an impactful, important, and insanely talented basketball players to ever play to just think about being the guy that gave him the initial chance at basketball. Insane
Steph 2013 54 pt game at the garden = the first time he went super sayian Now he breaks the 3pt record in that same building ...everything comes full circle
Had the privilege to watch this moment live in MSG, right out of the airplane from Amsterdam to the game, great experience… and the expectation and the cheers of the home crowd were a real sign of the appreciation for Steph’s achievement. Kudos!
I’m a warriors fan but that would have sucked if happened in Chase. Bandwagon techies that can’t even put on the playoff giveaway shirts. It’s poetic it’s in the basketball Mecca, Madison Square Garden. Doesn’t get better than that.
One of the most emotional moments in the nba history. The player tha changed the game with the 3pt shot becomes the best shooter in the history. That is called greatness 🙏🙏
Bro they genuinely love Steph, even in 2009 draft they booohhh they GSW franchise when the warriors steals Curry from them 7th draft, NY fans really expected that time that Knicks will draft Curry.
We are so blessed to have witnessed such greatness in our time. We grew up inspired by Kobe, saw LeBron evolve, and Curry become the greatest shooter. Now to have seen two of those men set-and are still setting-what likely will be immortal records is truly amazing. Let’s enjoy it while it lasts ✨👑🐐
it was a great moment, the enthusiasm of the hall, celebrating with his teammates after the break, hugging his father, and also hugging with ray allen and reggie miller. We had a historic moment. Curry is now at its peak.
Really enjoy watching this man play !!! He is a breathe of fresh air and is a force to be reckoned with. A true example of dedication and passion for the game and he obviously has the same towards his family and it shows !!! Looking forward to more of his and his teams great playing and success !!💪👌👍✌
@@4ktkaram395 you mean the fact that both have 4 championships ain’t impressive? One is 4-2 in the finals the other is like 4-6. Guess which one is which
@@fatherbank the 3 point record was set in 2014, there are about to be 3 more guys to surpass him. Lebron broke a 40 year long record and no one in the current league is going to pass up Kareem
I'm a football fan(Chelsea fc), but the more I see clips of curry making threes (even from half court) it sends shiver down my spine....I'm a golden state fan and a basketball fan bcuz of Stephen ☺️☺️☺️
What are you talking about lol..Larry bird averaged 2 chances a game.of course he has record at 9.8 shots from 3 a game this is a record that's really been around for 15 years that's real..this is to funny
@@hofmenacetosociety4267 and nobody gonna break steph’s record 😂 man is gonna have 3000 3’s by the end of the week, 4000 3’s in 2 & a half more seasons, man is legit gonna retire around 7000 made 3’s 😂
The only thing iconic about it is how he tied rays record if it was a regular Steph 3 people would move on to the next play. The three to pass ray was the most iconic
I watched this game, and the emotions are still the same...to witness such a great moment is truly nostalgic! Congratulations Sir Steph Curry... The greatest shooter we've ever seen!
This was the perfect setting for him to break the record, this video will be legendary one day: In the most legendary arena for basketball (MSG the Mecca) The two other greatest shooters and previous record holders in attendance (Reggie and Ray) His dad (another great shooter who was a pioneer in the archetype) ready to embrace him His college coach, the man who drafted him, and the coach who’s been alongside him for his prime and then on (who also happens to be one of the best shooters of the 90s in Steve Kerr). Legendary moment, we’ll never see another like Steph 🤞🏽
Im here after lebron beat the all time scoring record what a moment to my generation to witness the 3point and the all time scoring record toped by lebron and stephen curry
The respect of every fan in attendance to truly recognize greatness and to cheer for Curry is huge. Shows how much Steph is idolized for changing the game
That's my man. Making a grown man cry whilst watching this momentous accomplishment. A massive feat and a truly epic journey to be able to witness such greatness. Absolute game changer.
Man, I’m on the fence with this. Steph can probably knock down threes for teams until he’s nearly 40 so his record should be nearly impossible to reach. On the other hand, if there’s a generation of kids that learned only to play this way and the pace of the game continues to increase, some of these gunners will be given the green light from day one at 19 years old. A lot will have to go right (health, long playoff runs, etc), but it’s definitely possible.
@@JoeMightyWarren if he hits 4k 3s, which is very probable, that would mean a player would need 16 seasons of hitting 250 3s just to tie it. For reference, there have only been 30 times in NBA history where a player hit 250 3s in a season. If you remove Steph from the list, there are only 21 times it has happened.
This was a special season for the Warriors..left me emotional as a fan. Some of it was personal to my life. They overcame the odds that season as I did with the loss of my only child who is forever a warrior...
I was a huge Ray Allen fan back when he played for the Seattle Supersonics (now the Oklahoma Thunder). If anyone was going to beat his record, I'm glad it was Curry, a great human being who changed the fundamentals of the game.
I was so lucky to grow up in Chicago during the MJ and Bulls era! Now I am so lucky to witness another player that has changed the game forever! I’m not a Warriors fan but I appreciate greatness! He’s gonna go down as a top 5 player when it’s done in my opinion.
I cannot even fathom how many shots did he take in game and in practice just to achieve that. The dedication and hardwork that he put through despite all of it. Man gotta love and respect steph💯
@@disguiseddv8ant486 LOL being moved from seeing someone accomplish a huge milestone isn't being emotionally weak you imbicile .....did your daddy hit you for showing emotion as a kid, so now you're trying to be mr tough guy?
@@cxrlitosway Nope! He actually encouraged me to do better. But it's obvious that you didn't have any male figures in your life. I just find it odd for you to say that you weren't expecting to get emotional when this moment was being build up for the past 3-4 games. How is it that Curry parents didn't cry? Curry teammates didn't cry! And they're close to him vs you're just being an emotionally weak fan who's still suckling from his mother's teat while being coddled?
Moments like this show why MSG is such a legendary arena, they aren't afraid of showing love to historic moments. Much respect NEW YORK, the MECCA of BASKETBALL!
what a year for him man, breaking the record for most 3s made, his first all star mvp trophy, 4th championship and his first finals mvp. man. i remember watching this guy for the first time years ago during his first ever double doubles game. i immediately knew it back then, wow this kid is gonna be a star. 13 years later and there he is.
Turner Sports broadcaster Brian Anderson has witnessed and called two record-breaking moments in his NBA on TNT stint: 1. Stephen Curry breaking Ray Allen's career record most for most made three-point field goals at Madison Square Garden. 2. LeBron James passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most career points in NBA history.
