Hi there! Great video!...although i do have a couple of questions: Do u have externship in Houston TX? Do i have to be an specific time on line? and what if I need more than 4 moths in order to finish it. Any extensions? Thank you.

Hey Maria! We coordinate externships throughout the US and Houston is no issue at all. And the Externship is scheduled to make sure it works for your schedule. Finally, you get access to the program for a whole year. Most students typically finish the program in 4 months, but because the program is self-paced, you can go through the program at your own pace. What if I work for a factory that makes medical instruments and I work in sterile processing before shipping parts to hospitals etc. would that count as experience?

Hey there! Yes, we include an Externship after the program which not only provides valuable hands-on training and experience for your resume, it helps you start to complete some of those hours :)

Quick questions I was looking into going to penn foster they are accredited but don’t offer externship what are your thoughts the hspa website did suggest this school when I checked

The externship is a crucial part for that hands on training and to start completing your clinicals. Also, many people have an issue with for-profit colleges given all the government crackdowns from a few years ago. I would look for a non-profit university Certificate, prepares you for the certification, and has the Externship 😀

Hey, Your training is essentially through a nationally recognized non-profit university. Transfer of credits isn't available, but you don't really need it. With Preppy, you're prepares for the CRCST certification, which is typically what most employers want, along with formal training. Let us know if you have any other questions :)

Hi I live in NY I took my course in 2020 I pass my final in 2021 but I couldn’t find anywhere to get my 400 hours so I didn’t do my 400 hours snd I didn’t take my exam. So do u think I could take this program with your course but what would happen from there NY is very hard ..

Hey, With Preppy, you also get an externship opportunity. The externship is a minimum of 40 hours, but can be longer. With the externship, you take the first step towards those 400 hours, and the rest you can get once you start working. Btw, You can get the provisional CRCST certification, even without the 400 hours, and you have 6 months to meet the requirement, post taking the exam. Employers are known to prefer candidates with CRCST certification & hands-on experience.

Hey Grant one more question I mention I lived in New York would I have access to take an externship In NYC I do live within the 5 Boroughs would the school beable to place me within in NY , example Néw York City, Bronx , Brooklyn etc please let me know , Thank you

I own a program that offers it in 7 weeks AND you WILL be able to take the exam with CBSPD. There is no difference with HSPA & CBSPD in regards to being an “in demand” certification. CBSPD is national and internationally recognized and is a 5 year certification. I have been teaching the last 15 years and the students find jobs s d we are in CALIFORNIA where pay is anywhere from $20-$23 freshly certified. THEN there are SPD travelers (min 1yr exp) averaging $1800/week for 12week contracts. My students do not have trouble finding jobs with CBSPD certification. This is all fairytale false info meant for advertising propaganda. This guy isn’t even a sterile processing technician!!!!! He makes no sense! A university certificate?? This isn’t an RN program. There are SPD techs that are working and do not even hold a certificate. STOP spreading wrong info for the purpose of getting them to sign up and then leave them hanging bc you cannot take the CRST Without 400 hours and hospitals do not give hours out since it’s not needed since surgery is different in every hospital. I always recommend taking an InPerson class and if there isn’t one locally, try finding an online course that doesn’t offer 50 other programs. AND go through CBSPD.

I have question, when someone finish this course ,do you give him certificate and second how person if he is not in america , you said you will get certificate from accredite university how can someone who is not in usa and also get that university certificate ,

Exactly! Once you complete the program, you get a certificate of completion from the university. And you can get the certificate after completing the program, even if you don't live in the US. We have many international students :)

Hey, Preppy's program is self-paced, so its totally upto you. You can learn on your own schedule. You get access to the program for a full year, so you have all the time you need :)

Hey Antoinette! You'll definitely want to get your training and certification in Sterile Processing beforehand! With a university certificate for Sterile Processing Tech, an externship for experience, and then the certification, you're putting your best foot forward :)

The externships are available nationwide, no problem for Fort Worth, Tx. Plus, the externship works you towards those 400 hours, but not all of it.
