Sterling's story is heartbreaking. Came back the next week he suffered his career ending injury and caught four TD's. Just a bizarre incident. Media hated him because he didn't talk to them, which is probably as responsible for him not getting in as anything. The media narrative of Favre turning into a three time MVP immediately after Sterling left football was so unfair and BS, feel so bad he wasn't able to be with the team for SBXXXI.

Jerry Rice and Sterling Sharpe were 1a and 1b that's how close they were at the time. I've always thought having sports writers should never have the final vote for the Hall of Fame. I find it ridiculous that a bunch of people who never played, coached, owned or even managed a team gets to hold that much power.

Obviously you didn't watch Rice play. My favorite player was Sterling, but Rice was the best player ever in the NFL. Sterling Sharpe played 7 full seasons and is not in the HOF. Gayle Sayers was in the league for 7 seasons, but he really played the equivalent of only 5 full seasons. And he is in. It is hard to compare players from different eras, but for the last 6 years of Sterling’s career, he was as good a WR as there was in the league, much of that time with quarterbacks that were so-so at best (until Brett Farve joined the Packers). I think Sterling absolutely deserves to be in the HOF.

Great way to start the podcast. So relatable to any brothers that love each other, like me and my big bro. Sterling and guys like T.O. really put a spotlight on the selection process and how flawed or inconsistent it is. Players and coaches need to have a bigger say. I'm sure there are players who HATE T.O. that think he should have been first ballot. Sterling should be in. The HoF needs to be careful because if they don't let in guys like Sterling and do let in certain others, then being in the Hall will start to lose meaning.

Him and Michael Irving and Calvin Johnson were the most strongest receivers I ever watched. Not only he should be in the hof but the packers should have given him a super bowl 31 ring also.

If his career had not been cut short - he had a legit shot at being in the GOAT wide receiver conversation. I truly believe Shay deserves to be in the HoF. No question. But SS is the best Packers WR of all time and still has more than good enough numbers to be in the HoF. He could completely change the dynamics of a game single handedly. He was like a FB WR out there but still ran great routes, had great speed, and had great hands. His love for the game showed on every play. I truly believe the Packers would not have, however, won a SB with him because Brett had tunnel vision like AR had with Davante Adams. He only looked for SS. In order to win SBs, you have to run the ball, play great defense, and spread the ball around in the passing game. Having said all of that, SS is my favorite Packer player of all time.
