"I told you not to be stupid you moron!" -Ben Stern Funny how Howard going against his father's conventional wisdom led to him amassing millions of fans & dollars over the years.
I get depressed listening to even this very early Stern show (which is so much more entertaining than what he sporadically puts out now) and knowing what he has become... which is everything he railed against for so many years. Maybe his decades of therapy have caused his "evolution," but he must realize that the vast majority of his legion of fans were never going to be able to have the years of costly therapy (brainwashing) that he has subjected himself to. I am so grateful for the endless web archive of classic shows to keep me entertained!
It's not therapy don't blame therapy lol I believe it's once you become so rich you stop wanting to be around ppl like crack head bob and beetle juice and just want to take it easy lol
This era was not very funny but as something of a former Stern fan I like hearing what he was doing when I was just a silly teenager getting into trouble, before I became a listener. Best years were 1993 - 2004.
I hear you man. It sucks that his show changed so much, but people change. I’m only 42 and have changed drastically the last 2 or 3 years. I’m not the world’s greatest radio personality, but I understand the change. Howard’s show got so much funnier when Jackie arrived.
